Praying here -- too. Cheryl, I latched on to the purging thing, as well. If it really only happened a couple of times, that probably isn't the problem... but if that is any kind of regular behavior, it wreaks havoc with the body in so many ways, and particularly with cardiac function!!!!

Mini, the post says she's only done it twice on hcg. It doesn't mentioned past purging incidents.

Did she start taking Cerstor 2 days ago?
There could be an interaction with the RX hcg, I'm guessing BUT, since it advises against using crestor while pregnant or wanting to become pregnant, could there be a hormonal conflict since the RX hcg is a hormone?

i will never ever advocate oral BCP.

one of the teacher's wives at my kids' school had a massive stroke at age 28 from the pill.

a girl i went to high school with dropped dead from a blood clot to her heart. she was 36.

those things are nasty! but that's purely, my opinion, of course.

I know a lot of blogs do say that someone using the RX really needs to do it supervised because the dosing is very important. Too much can cause the same problems that any overdose of hormone can.
Very good point. Also about the Crestor. But as far as the purging issue, if someone has done it twice in a very short period of dieting, and they are calling it "purging," I think it would be a safe bet that she's got a long-standing issue with it. If so, CMac, please take this as a warning and treat your body with more loving care. We are all worried about you, and as you can see, we're all trying to fix you ourselves! Who needs Dr's when they have LCF's?!

I don't see where she actually said she began taking it, just that her doc wanted her to take it.

I wonder if she's consuming more caffeinated beverages with the plan? Caffeine gives me chest pains and irregular heartbeats. (This happened to me years ago.) I went to drs and they couldn't figure it out. I had an EKG and finally they told me it was stress! They prescribed Xanax. I was supposed to take it throughout the day, even at work. I couldn't function!

Through my own internet research I finally figured out it was too much caffeine. I stopped drinking it and my chest pains stopped and I threw away the Xanax. (I never went back to that dr. again. I was so mad that it didn't occur to him to ask me about coffee, and I suffered for weeks for nothing.)

I read somewhere that she doesn't drink coffee or a lot of caffeine. Also, she is on something for anxiety (I wanna say clonazepam but not sure).

CMac... hope you're okay!!

She's going to come back, see this thread, and either feel totally loved or feel a bit creeped out!

That said, I'm wishing her well!!!!!!

I wanted to mention that the reason there is a warning about pregnancy and Crestor is not because of a hormonal conflict, but because it is classified as a category X drug - "Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities and/or there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits."

I can understand the creeped out notion, but it makes one feel powerless to just sit back and bite their fingernails until we hear how someone is doing. This thread was therapy for those of us who are biting our nails and praying!

CMac, I hope you understand and don't get creeped. (((HUGS)))

As of today I am no longer on hcg. I Am too sick and must eat foods not on protocol.

Please guys know where you get your hcg from. Mine is veing tested tomorrow for contaminants that could have cAused my issues. I'm very sick. Sorry my typing sucks I'm on phone

Oh my gosh how scary! I hope they quickly figure out how to treat you so you can get well soon. I'm not understanding the hcg from Asia thing -- I use hhcg so forgive my ignorance, but don't you have to go to a Dr. to get "real" hcg? Or did you order it online or something? Whatever the case, it sounds like a good warning, and I hope you are well and on your feet again soon. So sorry this happened to you!

CMac!! So glad to see you!! Sorry this has happened to you, but unfortunately, that makes sense and one of the reasons I decided against injectable hcg - I tend to look for a good deal and would have probably ended up there as well.

We can close the case now. As you can see, we have had our detective caps on!

PLEASE get better soon!

I'm glad they figured it out. So you must be on some serious antibiotics now, huh?

It's good that they are testing the hcg, that way if it comes back contaminated we can put up some big warnings!

A co-worker had an infection around the lining of her heart before and she wasn't using hcg or injecting anything, so maybe there are other ways to catch it? We never knew what caused her infection.

For now it's just guesses i suppose. abx aren't given for viruses normally so k guess not this time either. Tbh I'm not ok with this educated guess they've made but my heart cath came back wonderful although my heart
Muscles are very inflamed.

I have no idea tbh at all. I'm here till at least Saturday so maybe they will find something out.
