day 2 of p3 eating...need help or encouragment please

I am hoping for advice or encouragment. I am only on my 2nd day of P3 eating. I am .2 lbs over my LDW. I did a 38day round and lost about 25 lbs (to be honest, I cheated too much...it should've been a much better loss--not complaining, just sharing the info in case it affects an accurate response to my post).
So, I also have TOM over, as of yesterday. I am pretty sure I am doing ok with fat and calorie intake. The only thing I added new yesterday was heavy cream and some cheese on my omelet I had for breakfast. Oh, and I had marlin for dinner for the first time and it was amazing! I had planned to eat 2 pieces to up my protiein intake for the day but was too full. I still feel full today. So, am I doing ok? Because of TOM, I assume I would gain, maybe even gain some more, so does that mean I actually am not eating enough or should I just continue with what I am doing or cut back? Any opinions would be appreciated.

here's what I ate yesterday: (this came to 1570 cal. but if I include the EVOO and the bacon grease, closer to 1800)
Breakfast- 3 egg omelet with 2 tbsp. cheese, onions sauteed in bacon fat, w/ 2 slices of tomato
Chai Tea w/ heavy cream
Lunchchicken breast and thigh from KFC w/o eating any of the breading (no veggies available there-only corn and coleslaw which probably has sugar in it)
DinnerSalad with blue cheese and sour cream as a dressing (added some radish, a sliced baby carrot and cauliflower to the salad)
marlin doused in olive oil grilled
DessertStrawberries w/ heavy cream and truvia
Cocoa delight 1 tbsp.

Oh, yes, I also went to starbucks and had them make me a SF venti caramel latte with whole milk but when I saw the nutritional info, it had 12g of sugar! From the milk! So I threw it in the garbage. Reminds me of when I was little and my mom threw my bubba in the garbage. I sadly walked the garbage, took it out, huggedit, kissed it, then gently placed in it the plastic grave to never touch my mouth again. Don't worry, people, I did not take the latte back out of the garbage! That would've embarrasssed my kids!

Here's today's plan:
Ate breakfast already-
made 3 egg omelet with sausage, onion adn mushroom, sprinkled cheese --but I could only eat 2/3 of it.
Chai tea w/ heavy cream
Lunch200g grilled chicken ceasar salad (provided the dressing is SF) w/o croutons but with some parmasean cheese
DinnerBeef stroganoff---homemade w/o noodles
2 cups or so of broccoli
Some sort of dessert. maybe the berries w/ cream again

If you stablize in a +2 / -2 lb window isn't that ok? You're only on day 2 and you're up a tiny bit. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Remember in P&I Dr S says that you could have dramatic fluctuations (I think that was the wording) in P3? A +.2 isn't dramatic!

That's my opinion anyway, but just into my first P3 also and unlike you, am experiencing some dramatic fluctuations! Count yourself lucky.

I totally agree with 2 babes!!! You are supposed to be in that 2 lb window and you are!!! Good for you!!!

And next time you are in a Starbucks ask for the same drink you ordered, only make it a breve. That means steamed half and half----perfectly legal for P3!!! I have to work tonight (yes, I am a barista LOL) and have to make sure I don't enjoy my favorite drinks. Some days I love my job, others not so!!

You're doing great! When I go to Starbucks I get a Iced SF Vanilla Latte Breve
and that doesn't have sugar, I'm sure you could get Caramel... dawnyama is right on track with that suggestion! I always get scared bc it tastes so good lol

I'm no expert, but I'd say part of it was the sugar in the coleslaw. Part of it was carrots and part of it was cheese.

I don't know anything about Starbucks, so I defer to Dawn's knowledge on that one!

In place of your noodles in the beef stroganoff, try some cooked cabbage "noodles"

I am sorry I did not make it more clear.I did not have the coleslaw or the corn at KFC . And I was skipping the noodles in the beef stroganoff.
Thanks for the replies. I think I just needed some reassurance. I will definitely try the breve latte cuz Lord knows how I love my starbucks!

No, you made it clear, I was just reading too fast. I have a habit of that.

Yes, I was just suggesting when you want to skip the noodles, try making "noodles" out of cabbage. Thinly slice and fry in bacon fat, butter or just steam in water or broth with some salt and pepper.

That Starbucks coffee sounds TO DIE FOR! Gunna have to write that one down. So, milk is bad on P3 and cream is good? So, it's not just "no sugar, no starch" but low carb, too? I'm starting on Sunday, so I'm confused.

KFC always makes me gain no matter how it adds up. I'm sure the chicken is injected with BBs.

It's basically low carb. The milk has sugar in it. HWC is a better choice. Just like carrots have too much sugar in them, have broccoli instead. It's about learning to make better food choices for the long run. There's a sticky at the top with a list of all the veggies and stuff to have and those to avoid.

Also, no nuts. That one broke my heart. I was craving pecans in P2. I still want pecans. No pecans for 2 more weeks.

Thank you. I'll check out that sticky. But according to the basic "no sugar, no starch" rule, nuts should be okay if taken slowly and carefully. I will see how it goes. (Cashews and peanuts would be taboo because they are legumes.)

I would be careful with the KFC grilled chicken - it may have sugar in the marinade. Maybe check out their website to nutritional information. You are doing fantastic!

ETA ~ I checked out their website and it says zero sugars so it should be okay.

Lisa, I was just reading that first page of the sticky thread and there is actually a "nut correction day" for when you go over your 2 lb window! Caveat is that they need to be raw. (Not sure where this poster got all her info from, since the rules just state "no sugar, no starch." Seems like we complicate things more than they need to be.) Just sayin'.

if you want a big, refreshing, non-coffee starbucks drink (also P2 friendly), my current favourite thing is to get an iced venti UNSWEETENED passion tea (NOT the passion tea lemonade, which is delicious but has sugar no matter what). I add 10 drops of vanilla stevia and I'm good to go. GOOD TO GO ROLLING MY EYES BACK IN MY HEAD BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOD, that is!

for an iced coffee, get a triple espresso (mine is always decaf) over ice in a grande iced cup. mix it (it melts just enough ice to make it like an americano, only better, bearing in mind I get americanos 2/3 full so they're TASTY), top with HWC, coffee cream or half and half, add sweetner, see earlier comment about rolling eyes back in the head.

otherwise, go-to order is a breve americano misto. all the coffee, way less added water, and steamed half and half ftw.

edit: these are all P3 safe, I used to have them all the time on early atkins phases and never had a problem (except wanting to have multiple per day because they're so good).

try2, your p3 sounds fine to me.
0.2 is nothing to concern yourself over. Normal people go up and down a little all the time. You're just on your way to getting normal.
Do address any gain or loss of 2 pounds or more promptly, but don't sweat the partial pound gains.

Cheryl, I think the best nuts are walnuts and almonds. I'm a walnut freak. I also pick some of the perfect pecans out of my husband's mixed nuts when he's not looking.

Yes, the lemonade has sugar, but the passion tea itself is unsweetened. I had my first green tea last night. It was nice and refreshing. Don't know why I haven't tried it earlier We throw all our teas away at the end of the night and last night I decided to take it home instead. Nice and a change of pace from my coffee. I did bring home some iced coffee for DH I did say that I love my job

It is from another site and she coaches her clients in the protocol. I am in her bootcamp and she has some great information. She has tried various correction days with thousands of clients. I think the thing with nuts is that there are some people who have sensitivities to them. And portion control is an issue with some as well. So it is best to start out slow--don't eat a whole can in a sitting. And you are correct, peanuts and cashews are NOT nuts. You can add those back in P4 though!

I am jealous that you work there. When I used to work downtown, there was a Starbucks in the lobby of our building that had A LOT of traffic. I got coffee grounds for my garden from there to the tune of 2 huge shopping bags worth a day. Now I work in our suburban office and the Starbucks out here can only give me a little bag worth.

Thanks so much for all the replies! I ate most of what I had planned except dinner I switched to a protein shake blended with strawberries and heavy cream. I am SO full all day. I feel like I am loading all over again, but my friend said to make sure to eat all the calories or I will probably gain. She said the 2 main reasons for failure in p3 is not eating enough and not eating enough fats.

I am amazed that eating all these calories I don't gain. Hubby got out the almonds late last night so I had quite a few. Usually a late snack for me is sure to cause a gain, but low and behold I woke up exactly at my LDW. My secret (not secret anymore) is that I drink gin and SF tonic water every night--well, not every--and did it even in p2 once in a while so I was really afraid I was not going to stabilize. But, so far, so good. I must be eating close to 2000 calories and not gaining. I think I am in shock.

It is quite funny that I do work there. My youngest tells me every day "Don't work anymore mommy". So I decided to ask the other kids what they thought. They said "Don't quit!!!" They love the perks too Of course with the drinks I brought home I also brought cupcake pops, chocolate chip cookies and the salted caramel bars for them And then there is my eldest who loves to tel his friends that I work at Starbucks. I will say this...before hcg I would not have even gotten this job because I was so depressed about my weight. I did not want anyone to see me. I wanted to hide basically. I only looked for a job once I finished my first (or was it my second?) round. I see all my neighbors there and they have told me how skinny I have gotten. Cannot wait to get back down.

Sorry to hijack this thread try2....you are doing so well. Stable is good

Im a sucker for pecans, but theyr so damned expensive in sweden

Back to the original thread though, remember the body CAN fluktuate up to 4 to 6 POUNDS from a day to day basis, so .2 is very very good and as all other says you are inside the 2 pounds window. I go up and down between .1 to .3 now in P3 and lost 4.8 pounds in P3 that I couldnt get back....
