Hi Mini
Your excess hunger can be due to TOM, but also to the low body fat. Once your body gets below a level of fat it is comfortable with- it can start becoming exponentially hungry and increasingly tired/low in energy! I have experienced this- dont quite know how to get around it yet.. I have been considering it myself- my body is not comfortable at the lower fat levels- I would like it to become so.. Great work everyone -- and a big whoohoo for those of you have hit that sweet spot!
Cheryl -- you'll be ok for the no-drops days -- I was scared of them, too, but they really aren't as bad as I anticipated. Plus, after this, you get to eat real food again! Woooooohoo! Nola -- my energy has been quite good, as long as I eat enough... if I don't, my body starts fussing at me endlessly until I feed it. I am really not used to that -- the only time in my life my bodyfat has been this low before, I had next to no muscle mass, and my metabolism was totally tanked from long-term starvation. (That was in my late teens.) I worked out a lot, but it was almost all cardio, and I was stringy and scrappy and very unattractive (in retrospect, anyhow.) In my 20s, I had a lot more muscle -- and being very active indeed, I ate like nobody's business -- but even then my bodyfat wasn't this low. I think it hovered at about 15% at the lowest, based on my best guess. Like you, I am wondering if I will eventually lose my menstrual period -- I did as a teenager, but it hasn't happened again. Honestly, as disordered as this may sound, I don't mind if I do at this point -- I am close enough to menopause now that it probably won't make a lot of difference as long as I make sure I get adequate nutrition, calcium, etc.

Mini, you're funny. But I can hardly blame you for wanting that "fountain of youth" to dry up and go away for good. I don't miss mine one little iota. I can't even remember how old I was when it stopped, but I only had a TOM when I took HRT. My ovaries tanked in my 20's.I am looking forward to the eating more and eating more enjoyable foods on P3, but I just have no appetite right now. I'm hoping it's the HCG because I'll have trouble eating 1500 calories or more each and every day. I think I'm going to shift my focus on P3 from losing weight to firming up and getting stronger. (I can just see Mini jumping up and down right now.) I grabbed my butt cheek today (if I don't, who will?) and it's all flab. I held onto it as I walked in the house and my teeny, tiny little muscle in there was barely perceptible. (TMI? ) Time to beef up a bit!So, that's the plan, Stan. That's the fact, Jack!

I think I am just going to wear some nice slacks and a nice top tomorrow. This whole dress thing is making me feel horrible about myself. I'm so disappointed that my R3 was basically a waste and the TOM hormones are really making me feel down in the dumps.
I'm going to drink all my water today, take some Tylenol PM, and get a good night's rest. I haven't been sleeping well. Tomorrow is a new day! for the losers and for the rest. I hope the Woosh Fairy visits all of us! |

Hi Mini
When I am in deep hunger its not just that I am hungry, but can wait a bit; Its like a national state emergency- I've got to have food and got to have it now!! I think that because there is little fat on the body it has nothing to fall back on when it runs out of fuel- so I find I have to eat often and enough, and not get caught out without food- because when the tank runs out- it is not good for me, my body and brain start going into non-functioning zone... Of course my skinny ectomorph boyfriends who have never dieted or gone without in their lives, and who can also wait long in between feeds- cannot comprehend the urgency of this food need! But if your energy is still good- that means you are still doing ok ! You just need to feed the machine.. Muscle building exercise requires fuel, not just on the day, but on the days after as the body is repairing and re-strengthening itself. The thing I have not worked out is, when you lose your period from low body fat, are you still ovulating and able to get pregnant?? I read in a thread Mini, where I think you said you stop ovulating; but I seem to remember reading elsewhere that you can still be ovulating even with cessation of periods?? Any clues anyone?? |

Welcome, Lorrie!!! Of course there is room for one more!
Nola -- I think in general one does stop ovulating when the period stops, but it isn't a guarantee -- people can and do get pregnant while amenhorreic. And yes, my hunger is just relentless when it hits -- very strange feeling. I've just been eating when it does hit, and eating enough to feel satisfied -- seems to be working so far. Based on the mirror, I am definitely losing fat in the butt -- I have some new loose skin that feels very empty at the moment... deflated balloon material... My thighs have firmed up a lot, and the skin there is actually looking good except right where thighs and butt meet, where some floppiness is present. Awkward stages notwithstanding, I am really liking the direction these changes are going. I got in my favorite Bar Method workout today, and it felt absolutely wonderful -- that one does kick my butt a bit... and so very worth it I have also been getting in a lot of physical activity just doing house stuff -- I have been painting the bathroom the last couple of days, and it is finally coming together! I've been pretty much a non-stop motion machine for about a week now. Oh, and how is this for a cool NSV? Yesterday, I carried a 50 lb bag of pigeon seeds down the block, around the corner, and up two flights of stairs, and it wasn't even very difficult! That, alone, is reason to build muscles... they're handy!!! |

You guys are sooo funny!! Butt grabbing is what my hubby does best. he is a butt man. I have what I call J-Lo issues. i have always had a rump. in fact at my skinniest about 12 years ago, i was in the gas station and there were some guys in there and they were like dayum, she has a butt like a sister!
I'm not arguing cause i could have nassitall disease....(no a$$ at all). So I just want to get down to about a size 8 and get back in the gym and wear some spandex...lol!! ![]() I had a ruff day yesterday. i went to bed hungry, and woke up hungry. I'm not sure if it was something I ate. I am supposed to go to my BFriends house tonight and help her set up for her daughters baby shower and start my world famous chili. She called me last night and told me her DD asked if I were coming and if I'd fix my chili. She is a picky eater, and loves it. I have turned people into chili feigns with this stuff. People who swear up and down " I hate Beans" Even a five star chef had 3 bowls in one sitting. Thinking about entering the local chili contest next year. besty said I should and she would help. ugh.....food. i had a dream lastnight about poptarts. I'm such a tard. I don't even eat them. Anywho haven't weighed yet this am, but wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY FRIDAY!!! ![]() ![]() |

BigBlue -- I used to have a "rump like a sista" too -- and in fact heard that comment many, many times over the years (it was generally meant as a compliment). It's pretty much gone now... and while I don't miss the cellulite and the saddlebags, I do miss having some hump to my bump.
I've decided to build a new butt out of muscle -- that should take care of the problem! Those hungry days just really suck... hope your hunger eases up. Pop tart dreams... ???Now that is a bad state indeed! |

Down .6 today (first loss of the week). It's one pound below a week ago, and 1.2 above Saturday's weight. I might get a TOM whooshie tomorrow ... hope so, so I can call this 6 month round over... Hunger control was VERY good yesterday.
Still have smoked chicken in the fridge, so will have that on a bed of lettuce for lunch. Yumm! Wish me an easy work day...I've been encountering some real doozies for managers lately...the stress ruins my sleep. |

-0.4 lbs. today.
I had a very tired and grumpy day yesterday. I fought to stay awake. I started new thyroid meds yesterday, so I'm attributing it partly or wholly to that. I hope today I have better energy. Today I am wearing a pair of capri pants that were un-zippable before. (YAY! )So after 11VLCD's I've lost 8.2 lbs. (not counting the 4 lb. load gain and loss.) I didn't go to my book club dinner last night. The book was "Water for Elephants" and I'd absolutely LOVED reading it and wanted to discuss it. But, I didn't want to deal with explaining why I wasn't eating. I'll go to the next meeting when I'm in P3 and it'll be easier to eat restaurant food. (They're already used to seeing me eat low carb.)

Lots of good laughs and smiles and giggles today! And lots of great news on the losing front! WTG, ladies! May all of our butts (front and back ones) become all that we've hoped them to be. ![]() Last day of pellets was yesterday and today I finally got back to my lowest weight. Just in the nick of time, huh! For my two low calorie days off pellets, I will continue eating as I've been on P2 but will skip the grains. Then Sunday I'll be increasing the intake, fat, etc for the first time. I think I'll buy a nice, well-marbled steak for my first day on P3, and make a nice salad with my favorite buttermilk ranch dressing! Then I'll cook that puppy on the grill with lots of seasonings.I'm going to follow Atkins Induction except that I'm going to try and keep my fruit in my plan. I'm really enjoying it! I'll keep it Low Glycemic Index fruit, but as I move into later weeks on P3, I'll experiment more. Happy for all you losers! Have an excellent Friday and a glorious weekend. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congrads on regaining your # Cheryl. What a relief!! I've heard it said to start upping your protein portions in these last two days of P2 from 200 grams to 300. I like the idea of ditching the grains; I think I'll do that too. Sounds like you're doing P3 exactly how I'm planning. I'll be looking forward to seeing how it works for you. How are you feeling after your work out yesterday? Hope you have a glorious weekend! |

Hey, Terri! Thanks for all the clappers! My arm and shoulder are a tiny bit sore but no where near how I thought they'd feel today. I didn't do the epsom salt bath but I did do range of motion a few times throughout the evening and I took a potassium pill. I also took two doses of Ibuprofen, to keep any swelling down. All's well that ends well!
