Well, today I am doing my THIRD correction day in a week. This is Round 3, P3, Day 13 for me--halfway through. I did well the first week with no correction days, now 3 correction days in the second week of P3 with no changes from the first week!!
![]() Last night I ate a snack way too late, and way too much. I was slicing Gruyere cheese very thinly and eating it with SF pickles while playing a card game with my daughter, and before I knew it, a huge portion of the block of cheese was gone and I felt very full. So today I was 2.6 pounds heavier than yesterday! I'm doing another GY correction day. I hope this works. If not, I'm going to have to do another correction day tomorrow. Yikes. Double yikes.![]() Hope all of you are having a much better day. Of course, this is Memorial Day, and I feel a bit guilty complaining about weight gain, when there are soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, so I'll try to keep it in perspective. ![]() |

Good morning everyone and happy Memorial Day! Here's a heartfelt salute and thanks to our men and women giving their time to protect our country, both here and abroad. In these crazy times, I for one am even more thankful for their service.
Well my weekend was amazing--so amazing that I will be doing my very first correction day today! I am 0.5 above my window so it's some sort of something for me today. I've got plenty of Greek yogurt, berries, eggs, and chicken around the house so I'm just going to see what I feel like. I've cleaned the kitchen, tidied away all the leftovers, and now I need to get in a good sweaty workout with a nice glass of lemon and ACV water which should get me going in the right direction. I've also got a trip to Goodwill in the plan as well as a good scrub down of my counters. I have a contractor coming tomorrow to template my counters for a granite composite treatment Tuesday. I haven't done anything on my house in a really long time so this is super exciting! No grout lines to clean any more!!!! ![]() Everyone have a great day! |

My day ended up like this yesterday:
1,780 cals, 125.1 fat g 77.9 carb g 107.1 protein g I was under cals and then decided to go back for a snack very late at night..... oops. I'm up 1.4 this morning from yesterday's .4 over LIW, so I'm just barely within my window. My "new" foods this P3 yesterday were broccoli, SF chocolate, cream cheese, and coconut flour. I would hazard a guess that it was either the sf chocolate or the cream cheese. That, and I haven't seen Berniece since Friday. So today is meat and veggies and lotsa water. Probably GY for a snack with a few berries. We will see! Hope everyone's day is fabulous.

Yes, I decided to jump right back in and do another round, my last injection day was the 8th of May. I read that you can continue on another p2 as long as youve stablilized and I really am exicted to do it agan. I am ready!!!

My day ended up like this:
1,681 cals 105.0 fat g 54% 62.9 carbs g 14% 132.7 protein g 32% I did my first two meals lean carb, less than 4 grams each, as CM's (complementary meals) doing the CAD plan (Carbohydrate Addict's Diet) for maintenance. The last meal, did the higher carb items within a 60-minute period, or RW meal (Reward meal) as per CAD. We'll see! |

Weight stayed the same. I started my P3 yesterday evening with dinner. I had a luscious slow roasted pork butt smothered in sweet onions, Romaine salad with ranch and strawberries and heavy cream.
I think I was moaning while I ate! ![]() Have a great day everyone! ![]() |

Well my joy was short lived. I'm up 1.8 which puts me 1.2 over my window again.
I think it's from the almond meal I ate yesterday because my stomach was bloated right after. I haven't had a bloated stomach in a while. I figured if I could eat almonds I could eat almond meal but I guess I was wrong. I ate almond meal pancakes with strawberries around 4pm and I was full for the rest of the day. I couldn't even get in all the protein I needed. I prepare my lunch the night before so I didn't prepare for a correction day today. I'm going to try to eat a lot of protein today to see if that helps and then prepare for a correction day tomorrow if I need it. I'm getting pretty tired of this roller coaster but I'm hanging in there. ![]() I didn't even plan to eat almond meal yesterday. I had some GY with protein powder and walnuts that I prepared the night before and it was way too thick to eat. So since I hate throwing away food, I tried to make pancakes with this batter-like substance which failed miserably. However, once I put in an egg and a few tablespoons of almond meal, the pancakes came out pretty nice. The pancakes were pretty tasty with the strawberries but it wasn't worth the 2 lbs. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow.

Good morning hope all had a nice long weekend.
I managed to stay in 2 lb. window. I am enjoying P3 a lot more than I thought I was so scared. I have been adding a few new things, califlower almonds, a little EVO. I used almond flour on tilapia and sauted it in Tbls of EVOO wow was that ever good, going to have it for lunch today too. I can't say it enough, just to have a real salad w/mixed veggies and some balsmic vinigar is heaven. I sure apreciate my food a lot more. Hope everyone is doing great! |

Good morning everyone. Got to sleep in a little this morning because the contractor won't be at the house until 9:30 or so. Gosh, does my body LOVE 10 hours of sleep! Anyway, my "correction day" turned into a bit of a mishmash yesterday. I started out great and was doing fine on my egg day until the bacon came out of the oven (I cook the last day of the weekend for the week ahead). A pound of bacon later (plus a few strawberries thrown in for good measure!), my egg day turned into an egg, bacon, and fruit day...
Regardless, it netted me a 1.3 loss to put me back in my window. I am still 1.2 over my LDW so I'll be eating clean for the next few days and staying away from all the lovely leftovers in my fridge and freezer--ribs, chicken wings, and roasted nuts will just have to wait until I feel more like experimenting again! I'm think that some lamb or beef tonight wouldn't hurt... Off for a little cardio to get me going this morning.Check you all later... |

Hi P3-P4'ers! I'm currently in P3, stabilizing or trying to before jumping into R2. It's been rough. You know the golden rules of P3--no starch, no sugar? Um, not so much.
I'm up about 2 lbs from my LDW, but I think today will be better for me. I'll probably stay with P3 until June 11. Won't do P4 because I'm insulin resistant (+ strong family disposition to diabetes) and won't be adding back a lot of the starchy stuff on a regular basis anyway. So this P3 round will be short and then I'll get in another rogue P2 before July 4.

Came off the holiday weekend 1.2 lbs above my window but I think I'll just eat clean to try and get back down. I just don't have a correction day in me on the first day back to work. I really need to figure out how to control my binge eating mentality when I have an off day. Note to self, just because you had fries instead of salad doesn't mean you then have to eat cookies, ice cream, and chips.
One thing I learned is that I do not sleep well after a carb binge. I was up all night tossing and turning. Last edited by catr31; 05-31-2011 at 09:05 AM.. |

catr31 - Sounds like we are very much in the same spot today! I am 1 lb over my window this morning. I went camping this weekend and did pretty well but then last night I decided to just go the "easy" route for dinner and got pizza. Well, then I decided that since I had already "blown it" I would go ahead and have that DQ Blizzard I've been wanting!
I'm also going to try eating clean today and see if I can get back to where I need to be. I definitely don't like the sluggish feeling that I'm having after my little binge yesterday. And I have a headache, probably from the sugar I ate. I haven't felt like this in so long now - I haven't missed it! |

Well I have decided that I am going to call this last week an interruption and go back to P2 tomorrow for 2 more weeks. I feel I need a little more cushion before stabilizing in P3. I'm hoping to lose another 5 lbs below my LDW which means I need to lose 8.2 lbs.
Question- I know I don't need to load since I've only been in P3 for one week, but when do I start the drops again? Should I start the drops today or just start tomorrow? |

Thanks, C'Marie! I know I have to really change my attitude.
Quote:
As for me, today, after my third correction day in this second week of P3, I am just within my 2 lb window (weight this am was 129.0, LDW 127.2). BUT...TOM came this morning! I really don't like this guy, and never have, I don't know why he keeps showing up. I'm happily married, have two great kids and I'm not looking for anymore at age 48, so I don't know why he keeps coming around! ![]() I'm hoping TOM is why I had to do THREE! correction days over the course of the last 6 days. I am supposed to have only one more week of P3, but I may continue this longer until I'm sure I'm really stable. The odd thing is, I'm eating mostly protein and fat. (But this is consistent with Atkins not working for me to lose weight in recent years.) Once my weight is stable, I still have to decide about a P4 or another round to lose "that last 10 pounds". Hope everyone is doing well, and if you are on a correction day, I hope it goes well! |

I'm up 0.2 to EXACTLY 2 pounds above my LIW. Still very very small output, certainly not in relation to the volume I've been consuming. Going to get some magnesium in me. Today is just clean as I can get it since I'm on the verge of having to do a correction.
I did do CAD yesterday Catkin, I'm trying it out even in P3 because there are higher carb items that aren't sugar/starch - fruit, GY, avocado - that aren't on the CM list so I'm using them for my RM's instead. We'll see. I know for sure it'll be useful when on P4. Sorry to hear you're back up, Raven. I spent one whole round like that, up, down, up down up down.... frustrating. Better to fight the battle, though, than give up. I think we all need to get that laser-thingy done on almonds and almond flour! Ugh! It's so versatile in recipes - and I def need the variety. Has anyone else been suspicious of SF items making their weight jump? or is it just me!? SF chocolate and SF Clemmy's ice cream - I am really wondering. I think I should get some strips that measure blood sugar or something when I eat those. Last edited by C'Marie; 05-31-2011 at 11:34 AM.. |

I am supposed to have one more week of P3 as well but I don't think I'm stable enough to go into P4 so I will wait at least one more week. I'm also supposed to do 5 weeks of P4 since I'm doing injections but I would like to do one more round before I go on vacation the second week in August. I would definitely like to be down another 10-15 lbs and well into P3 for vacation so I will probably reduce my P4 by a few days. I'm glad you told me about the almond flour. I will not try it again until P4 and even then I may just use it as a coating for meat instead of making pancakes. |
