Re: Buffalo chicken dip recipe

Hi all!

I tried this recipe. It's delicious! (in preparation for P3 that starts tomorrow).

I'm having a problem with the hot sauce separating from the rest of the ingredients. Some of it is sitting and floating towards the top of the dip. What gives?

I mix my dip with a whisk to incorporate the ingredients together. Have you done that? I don't have anything separate out. I love this dip!!!!

Actually, now that I look at it - it's the oil from the ranch dressing (maybe?). It's oil that it sitting at the top. I scooped it out but it seems to keep separating like an oil/vinegar type of situation.

I suppose this is no biggie (?)

No, I wouldn't think so. I imagine you can just stir it back up and it would be OK. Is the oil the same color as the hot sauce (red)? or clear? I sometimes have the red oil separate out, but just a bit here and there. And we love the dip so much that it is no big deal.

Yea, it's red oil. But I was asking more in terms of health purposes. I suppose this won't hurt during P3, right? It's just hard to accept since it's the polar opposite of what I've done for the last month on P2

Is it bottled ranch? If it is, you could try the Hidden Valley powdered style that you mix and it might not separate. Just a thought.

LOL! It's the oil in the cheese separating out. I just made a big batch of this in my crock pot on Sunday for a crowd and it did the same thing. Looks a bit less appealing but completely safe and tasty!! Yummy!! I eat it w/ celery sticks. It's all P3 friendly!! And SO good!
