Stats: 255/226/200
WOE: HCG ..
Start Date: 04/18/11 Load day 1
In P2 now, upcoming events... Not sure what to do

I need some serious advice... I have read that P3 needs to be really clean so you can reset your metabolism...
That being said, I am currently on VLCD 33. I have a graduation party in a week to attend and my baby's 1yr birthday party to survive in a month.

I am seriously considering staying in P2 for the next 4 wks to get past both of these events. I know I can stay on protocol pretty good, but I am afraid I may cheat. I am thinking that if I am in P2 that I can lose any extra weight from cheats before I move to P3. That way I can have a clean P3.

I am on hHcg so immunity shouldnt be a factor. I am still feeling good and my 40th day is about a week away. If I stay on P2 until the middle of June it would end up being about a 65 day P2 ..

What do you guys think? Am I nuts? Will I screw things up??

Not nuts! Unless I'm nuts, too. Check out my siggy for details. I have taken some days off since starting R1P2VLCD1. I only count the VLCD's in my siggy, so if you add 6 to that, you'll see how many days I've been doing this.

I am exactly where you are "at" mentally. I want to do a perfectly clean P3 and with Memorial Day approaching, I feel I have to extend this already monsterous round until June 2. So, although I want to start P3, I am going to ride it out.

You are not alone! It's worth it to keep going. I don't know if you are rogue or protocol, but I'm rogue. I take pellets. And I've found that my planned days off for holidays have been no problem whatsoever, and may have even helped me in a "refeed" sort of way.

I'm thinking that P3 has so many food options, there is no reason to cheat. You can have all of the low carb food your little body can handle. You can even have vino! I cannot imagine not being able to stay on it for Memorial day, birthdays, etc. (especially after the restriction of P2). Is it because you'll want the cake and will be unable to stop yourself? Or are there other carby foods you know you won't be able to avoid? I don't have that much of a sweet tooth, so P3 and Memorial day sound like the perfect mix to me (of course, I won't be on P3 then, but it would be nice

I hope you figure out the best solution for you. That sounds like a long P2 to me, but obviously you'll have company with Cheryl

True, P3 is going to seem like heaven, after P2. But I have found that taking a day off plan for special occasions has been heaven to the 10th power! That's how I've gotten this far and had as much success as I've had.

It's all a very personal thing, but that's my 2 cents.

question here----if you are in P2 and a planned cheat comes along, do you still take the drops---not that i would cheat, but just asking---i am to early into this yet to think about a cheat

Well, I always take my pellets, whether I'm on the VLCD or taking a planned day off. I never call them "cheats" because they aren't like that. It's all part of my plan, just like intermittent fasting is. It all works together like a well-oiled machine. (And I never went off plan until after 23 days of being perfect.)

Have fun finding out what works for you, and what you can live with! It's a great ride.
