Loss of interest in food?

I'm on day 8 of Phase 3, plugging along with my excessive fat and protein and 2400 plus calories and I'm half way through my BLT Cobb Salad from Wendy's and I've lost interest. Hunger is absent, even the mental "it's time to eat" hunger is nowhere to be seen. I've been fairly steady every day of P3, bouncing from 1.8 below to 1.1 above LDW. Stable as heck. So I know I'm doing it right BUT

If I've lost my pleasure from food it's a godsend and a tragedy all in one.

I remember feeling this way after a couple of weeks of p3. But it passes and food is glorious again. It was for me at least! Maybe you need variety?

That happened to me on Atkins... I would head to the kitchen and always leave empty handed.

I've done a lot of variety, pork, chicken, chicken wings, steak, lots of veggies, stuffed mushrooms, flax muffins, huge cobb salads, pepperoni stix, Queso de Frier (frying cheese), I even made Linda Sues Deep Dish pizza last weekend....

I'm just worried I won't be able to get in enough calories and I will start gaining.

That is the most beautiful oxymoron I've ever read!

What an odd thing to be happening. I hope your joy returns. It'd be a shame to be able to eat well again and to find the whole thing unappealing!

yes, I agree! I love eating low carb and not having to watch every single carb from veggies and cheese. But after a few bites of food lately, I'm satisfied and no longer wanna scarf it down. This must be what naturally thin people like my husband feel like all the time... blech.

So, do we continue to eat and feel stuffed, leading us to continue our bad habits? If we don't will we gain weight?

What a conundrum!

I'm hoping that I'm just learning better eating habits. Eating 500 calories for three weeks, really really really broke me from emotional and mindless eating. And they say habits are formed in three weeks and can be broken in three weeks. So........here's hoping!

Oh my goodness. I so feel this way! I'm in my second week of P3 and it's like I have to really work at having enough to eat. My friend had some fries in front of me today and I was thinking to myself how they didn't even look good. No temptation whatsoever! If someone told me that was going to happen, no way would I have believed it.

I do have a feeling though that once sugar is reintroduced, things will change for me.

YUP... insulin surges really mess with your head and your body after the clean eating of P2 and P3. The starch and sugar thing is tricky. I have pretty much just quit eating sugar in almost any form even in P4, kinda stick to the no-sugar rule because after listening to my body and learning what worked for me and cleaning out sugar and chemicals, why would I want to put that back in? I mean, I can, sure, (PS, it doesn't taste as good as I remember it! - it's like "huh? one bite of brownie and I'm fine, because it's not all that!) and I've had a little here and there on P4. But really I'm interested in health now. And I do NOT want that monkey on my back anymore. Sugar is an addictive substance! Just say NO!

I am dealing with the same thing. I have also learned recently that when my "body" is saying it wants this or that, once I am sitting in front of it, especially if it is something I shouldn't be eating, my body is saying "ok brain, why did you ask for this? Body doesn't want it."

Hi Zenngrl, thank you so much for posting this concern. I've been feeling that way long before HCG which I'm about to join the P3. I would stand in front of the refrigerator and already having eliminated processed foods etc. I would try and think of something to eat that was on my "OK" list. In the end I would close the refrigerator door thinking, "It's not worth the effort." However, I didn't lose any weight doing this nor did I gain, and I sure didn't physically suffer. For me, I'm beginning to think it was my own mind set. And I'm happy I developed it because it sure came in handy when I started HCG.

I so desperately wanted to be thinner and nothing I had tried for 12 years worked, but now finally, with HCG, I'm wearing cloths I haven't worn in years. HA, these cloths are back in style. So, fear not, just think that now you eat to live and not live to eat.

Again, I so appreciate your post.
