The whoosh! I haz it!
After a very frustrating first week (thanks again for helping me through it), my second week has been nothing short of amazing! Yesterday I had a whoosh of 1.8 lbs and this morning I woke up to another whoosh of 1.6 lbs. I am on VLCD13 with a total post load loss of 13.6 lbs!
![]() I have been eating 96% lean ground beef and cabbage for both daily meals. I eat strawberries as my fruit. I weigh everything and have not cheated except for a few nights ago when I ate a few more strawberries than I should have. I have had NO cravings and NO hunger pangs! My enthusiasm for a 40 day round is still going strong! I understand that there won't always be whooshes and that's totally fine - just remind me I said that when I am complaining that the loss slowed down later on. ![]() I hcg!

I like mine cut into strips and sauted in a little coconut oil until soft or still a little crunchy if you like.

Thanks everyone!
This is what I do: I chop up cabbage and weigh it. I add 1/3 cup fat free reduced sodium chicken broth to a pan with some minced fresh garlic and let it heat up. I add the cabbage, stir it around a bit, cover and simmer for 5 minutes. I then add my drained, rinsed, and blotted 96% lean ground beef, stir, grind fresh pepper, cover, and simmer another 5 minutes. I will add a bit of water at this point because most of the broth has evaporated. I put in a bowl, add chili powder, stir, and then add Frank's hot sauce. That's it! Delicious and filling! I had read some people stall on beef and cabbage but thank goodness it is working for me! ![]() |

I just chop up the cabbage, cook in water with some butter extract, salt and pepper. YUM!
I also add cabbage to the P2 chili and call it a goulash (and count the tomato as my fruit for that meal). Yum! |

The cabbage is either 150g/150g or 200g/100g depending on my appetite. Thanks! |

I eat this all the time. I brown the hamburger with garlic powder than toss in the cabbage. I add some water and hot sauce and simmer until water is gone. Super easy and very tasty.

So, I just had the best lunch thus far!!
130g of cabbage, just regular green cabbage 100g lean ground beef 1/3 c fat free organic chicken broth sea salt black pepper garlic powder paparika soy sauce I just browned the beef in a pan, added all seasonings to the beef except for the soy sauce, added the cabbage and chic broth, seasoned a little more and covered and simmered until chic broth was gone, then added about a CAP full of soy sauce.... Fantastic!! Was a great 'oriental' type dish!! I don't eat my fruit with my meal, I save it for a couple of hours as a snack between lunch and dinner then I have my second portion of fruit for a snack around 9pm, I go to bed late. I've only had strawberries and apples so far. Also, I only have one portion of the allowed melba toast and I don't use my portion of milk, and I only drink water. THE NEXT TIME I MAKE THIS I WILL OMIT THE SEA SALT AND CUT THE SOY SAUCE IN HALF TO ABOUT A 1/4 TEASPOON BECAUSE IT WAS A LITTLE ON THE SALTY SIDE AND I'M AFRAID OF RETAINING WATER!! SOY SAUCE HAS 920MG OF SODIUM PER TABLESPOON

Ok, don't know if it was what I ate yesterday...beef/cabbage both meals...apple for late night snack, no melba, lots of h2o....or the vitamins I added one is calcium 500mg, vit A&D, balanced B-100, vit C 1,000 mg with rose hips, and a multivitamin/multimineral with Lutein...
My weight yesterday am was 221.2, today 221.6 +0.4 Not sure about eating the same menu today, I don't think I get along with cabbage, I had a little bit of stomach issues after both meals ![]() |

![]() I'm down .8 lbs today. No more big whoosh but then again, I overdid it on the strawberries yesterday. It's like, I eat my weighed portion and then keep picking at them in the fridge. They call to me... ![]() I always thought cabbage gives you gas but I have had no issues with eating it. My DH is grateful, lol. |

Don't feel bad, it seems like for everyone this is a system of trial and error, some stuff works for some people and some stuff doesn't, you gotta try it to figure out if it works!!! For what it's worth, I could totally eat cabbage/beef everyday!! Never would have thought I would like it SOOOO much!! ![]() |
