The first day of P3 for me is Saturday, my birthday and DH is taking me to the coast to celebrate. I'm not planning on going crazy, but know I won't be perfect. I'm thinking of planning an apple or steak day the following Monday to get back on track. Do you think that would be a good plan? Any other sugguestions?

WOO HOO! I'm down below my preload weight

Now I feel like I'm officially on my way!

Picked up B-100 & Biotin last night. I nixed the obvious oily supplements, but didn't really check out the others (writing was to small ) So I got out my magnifying glass and was surprised to find corn starch in my multi and Glucosamine so they're out. But what really amazed me was my multi, Centrum Silver, had hydrolyzed palm oil. Trans fat in my Multi, are you kidding me?

Dodged a bullet last night got a manicure and didn't even think about the cuticle oil they use. Was scared to death to weigh in, but I was down .5, so all is real with the world!!

doing good, terri. was down 1.4 this morning after VLCD1!

YAY for being below preload! woot!

still having a constant growly tummy. :/ it's not debilitating at all, just more annoying. i just want to have NO HUNGER!

why would i get MORE hungry after eating? i was little hungry and lightly shaky so ate half my apple that i brought for lunch. i have been MORE hungry since eating it than i was BEFORE i ate it. very annoying. don't get me wrong, i KNOW it may take up to 4 VLCD's to get hunger under control...just talking out loud...not discouraged or anything...it IS only day 2 of VLC.

i picked up b-12 last night. that's the only supp i have right now.

A steak day for P3 correction is a good choice

Then clean eats from there on.

Great job Carrie!!

What I did and still do, is keep a big bottle of water with me and when ever I got that hungry feeling, I'd chug it. I've heard a lot of times when you're hungry you're really thirsty. Don't know if that's true or not, but it sure helped me get through. Plus it helped me get my water in!

today was better. i made a hearty chili and that really helped to keep me feeling fuller.

I'm down officially 7# for the week (Post load of course) I’m now heading into the territory I came here for. They say wk 2 & 3 are easier then wk 1. That would be great. I didn't really have any major problems with week 1. The first 3 or 4 days were a bit of a challenge, but I think more in my head because of my 6.3 gain during load.

congrats on your 7lbs! awesome!

hunger is still very prevalent. trying hard to try and not get discouraged. the hunger is not debilitating, just ANNOYING! i don't feel weak, tired, or fatigued. i just get tired of that gnawing growly feeling. i broke down and ate 1 egg + 3 egg whites about an hour ago. tummy still growling, even after drinking a glass of water....will go have anther glass, i guess.

i'm teetering on the edge of paranoia that my pellets aren't working, i mean how do you *really* know?? especially with the constant growly stomach?

Maybe try 4 pellets at mid-day, or 2 & 2 like 10:30 and 2:30. I've also heard some people do better cutting back. But it might be time for a little adjustment to see if it helps.

Dazy, I struggled with the same thing and was quite frustrated, but once I adjusted my pellets (I upped mine to 4 pellets 3x per day) AND changed the time I was taking them (moved first dose from very early morning to late morning; second dose from noon to afternoon; last dose from early eve to a later -- all around 5-6 hrs. apart) , my hunger issues completely resolved. Don't give up! Make some changes until you figure out what works -- there is no reason to be hungry on this WOE, and you won't be once you get your dosing right.

Week 1: -7.2 (-11.4 from loading weight)
Week 2: -7.0

Give it a try! Some say they needed to raise pellets/some lowered them. You may have to play around a bit to figure it out, but it is worth it!

when changing dosage, how long do you give a change before deciding it does/doesn't work?

just bummed the 3 x 3 doesn't appear to be working...but then would it if i give it more time....AHHHH...this is what i was dreading about doing this, that the dosage wouldn't work....sorry to sound like a whiner....i'll stop....

how was your day, terri?

well, will have to see how tomorrow goes, but having only taken 2 pellets at 2pm instead of 3. hunger the rest of the day has been far better. is it possible to tell a difference that quickly?? (i did take the 3 at 8pm)

had a big taco salad with a half a spoonful of taco meat, sugar free picante sauce (pace brand), and walden farms "chipotle ranch" along with the salad i had the smoothie mentioned above...1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese & 200g strawberries. this was a very satisfying meal! i made more taco meat with some 96% hamburger and added my own spices, no packet of taco seasoning. will def be having that salad again!

Good job Carrie, you made it!

I read quite a few posts about it and most of the people saw a difference right away, especially when they found their sweet spot. Hope it continues to work out for you!

I had a pretty good day. It does seem to be getting a little easier; at least I'm settling into the “Zone”. My DH came home from out of town and asked me to pick him up a couple beers. That was a little challenging until I realized I didn't really want any wine. Though I'm chalking that up to the Zone as well.

I made some Trader Joe's Carne Asada chicken with cabbage and actually got so full I didn't finish my portion. I've tried the "famous ground beef and cabbage” recipe and that worked out really well too. (Just don't add garlic "salt", use powder instead). I'm also adding a touch of Xanthium power to the recipes and it makes for a very satisfying sauce. There again, just don't add too much, a little goes a loooooooooong way!

Been searching for Bernice for a couple days. And then I remembered I hadn't had any of my Yerba Mate tea for a couple days. So I made myself a new pitcher and we're friends again.

Good luck over the weekend, that always my most challenging time.

How you holding out? Hope your hunger is getting under control! The weekend has been a little tough for me. Too many outside distractions. I'm actually up .2 despite being close to perfect, but TOM is just around the corner, so I'm trying to be strong.

hey, terri! ughh...tom...it always messes with the head, eh? that .2 will be gone in no time! my TOM *should* be coming middle/end of the week sometime, so will see if the HCG affects it. are you dosing through out your TOM? i have read both ways of continuing thru TOM and stopping dosing thru TOM (read this in some info FROM intermountain where my pellets are from).

hunger is soooooo, soooooo much better. it's quite astonishing the difference, actually. i am maintaining the 3-2-3 dosing. sometimes i eat my meal, just to make sure to get my calories in as it's not good to NOT get them in just as it is not good to go over. BUT, would much rather have this "problem" over a constantly growly tummy!

i was down 1.6 yesterday and 0.8 today. i ate at a all you can eat pizza buffet yesterday. brought along my WF dressing and just went thru the salad bar once. they have left over fried chicken breast on the salad bar, without (most of) the skin. so i had a bit of that, lettuce, a couple cucs, and a pickle, with my dressing.

I thought I was brave only eating the tops of the pizza last time we had it, but you totally win! Good for you. I'm so happy you got your dosing figured out. Those first couple days had to be torture.

It’s my understanding that you only stop dosing on TOM if you’re using the RX. The other main difference is when you transition to P3 you only stay on the VLCD for 2 days instead of 3. Although it has been suggested during those two days to amp up your protein a bit.

Drum roll please………………..

I’ve been courting her and cajoling her and for the first time the Whoosh Fairy has graced me with her presence. Down. 2.3 today. Funny how discouraged I felt yesterday. I was even planning a possible apple day today if things didn’t turn around. Goes to show, a little water weight really does go a long way!

Funny side effect I've noticed over the last couple days. My necklaces are too long. I had to change chains for them to hang where I wanted them. Didn't get it at first, then it gave me a smile.

Been fluctuating a little over the last couple days. I'm confident it has to do with TOM and water weight. I was up 1# today. But since I was down 2.3 yesterday, I'm okay with it. I also know I ate a lot of salty things yesterday. Knew when I was doing it, so not too surprised today. Still feel slimmer, and that’s the real important part.

TOM should be showing up any day...i can tell b/c i'm quite a bit more irritable. usually a sign. i didn't weigh today as i was away form home. i was with a friend and she likes to walk. so went on 3 pretty good walks in the last 2 days. wonder if that will affect the scale in the morning (i'm not an exerciser, shamefully), as well as any potential water weight from impending TOM, although i don't really seem to gain much during TOM. <shrug> we shall see in the AM!!

i'm off to bed....tired!!!

morning, terri!

so i haven't weighed since tues morning, right? after no bernice for 2 days (she only likes to show up when i am at home after drinking coffee...lol), walking a lot tues-wed (i'm not an exerciser), and impending TOM...i was still down 0.6 from tuesday! was happy about that.

had a great time with my friend. baby is cute as a bug's ear and such a good baby. her birth dad is kenyan, so she has beautiful coloring!! it makes me giggle a little to see her mama, with lily white irish skin holding this gorgeous skinned baby. mama's anxiety seems to be subsiding...but then i think having someone else around lessens anxiety anyway...so hopefully she continues to stay on the upswing. she had/has post-adoption depression which presents the same symptoms as post-partum depression. i didn't know of such a thing.

how are you today?

That's awesome!! What a great way to start the day. I've been fluctuating for the last couple days. Hopefully ready to stabilize and continue the downward slide. I'm still down 3# for last Friday so I'm pretty happy. 4.2 to go to see the 120s for my Birthday on the 11th. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I was planning on transitioning to P3 on the 11th after a 23 day round. My research has convinced me that P3 is the most important phase to stabilize my loses. So what I'm thinking is doing is; a 1 day refeed on the 11th, back to P2 to loose any gains, and finish with a 40 day round on June 28th. That way I'll be on to P4 by the time we go camping July 27th. Best laid plans......we'll see.

My brother adopted about 12 years ago and his wife struggled a little bit. I think it's a lot to do with being overwhelmed by the suddenness of it all. Lucky your friend to have a friend like you to lean on.

your birthday plans sound great! i hope it works out well for you. i haven't even counted to see when my 40 day round is supposed to end. but since i am taking less than the rec's on the bottle, i will have leftover pellets at the end of the 40 day round, so maybe i'll just keeping doing p2 till all my pellets are gone. will see how things go.

does the 40 days include load days? or just VLCD's?

No, it doesn't on my tracker. But if I get to my goal prior to the 40, I'll just transition to P3 earlier. Speaking of trackers, I got this cool little tracker off one of the other threads that makes it real easy to see and plan everything. You might do a search for it if you're interested. If you can't find it let me know and I'll look for it for you.
