I'm so motivated, I wanna do a 40 day round!

I know that's big talk considering that I'm only on VLCD9, but what can I say? I've got A LOT of weight to lose and the drive and passion to lose it.

Are there any benefits to doing a longer round as opposed to doing a shorter round?

I say if you are losing and your head is in the game keep going but if things slow down you may want to move into P3 so you don't get discouraged and cheat or give up.

I'm doing a monster first round, myself. I have heard R2 can be tougher than R1, so that keeps me going. That and knowing that I have no hunger so far and I can't bear the thought of going a month or more just maintaining. Still, all good things must come to an end, so I have decided to go until the end of May and then do my first two VLCD off hhcg on June 1 and 2. Then I'll do P3 on the 3rd.

Good luck with your 40 day round! If you feel like making it longer, go for it!

My first round I did a full 40 days. My others have ranged from "slightly" less days to 25 days. I lost the most in my first round. I certainly don't regret it. I lost 32 pounds in 40 days. I think unless you quit losing more than 2-4 pounds a week or your head isn't in it, then a 40-day round is very doable, especially your first one. Might as well really use that "shock" factor to your body to the full.

It was the blood sugar thing, really. That's got me on cloud 9!

That, and finding the ground beef and cabbage recipe - oh, and switching from apples to strawberries!

I still wouldn't mind a whoosh but I won't complain since the scale is moving!

I did 44 days my first round... and was fine until the last week, when I started to get pretty depleted and obsessive. I got most of the way to goal my first round, and have really been tinkering and reshaping since then... it can definitely be done.

So glad you are feeling so great and having so much success

Well, I ate a few extra strawberries last night. This morning I was only down .2 but I did it to myself so I am not complaining. Also, I think I didn't drink enough water. I lost count but I think I drank less than 64oz and when I do that I don't lose as much.

Don't care! Still motivated!

40 Day Journey

I'm on a 40 day journey as well. Love to have a significant drop by July 1st when we have a family reunion to celebrate my Mother's life. (She died Feb 26)
I'm feeling great and motivated.
Love the support from this group.
Some things are actually easier when on protocol because their are not so many meal choices or cooking to do LOL
Luckily I don't have to feed anyone else like young kids. That would be more challenging.
I live with my daughter and she is 31... very able to cook for herself as needed.
She often just adds to my food with some carbs. She is very fit and slim so need to keep up her weight. She also is able to go for long walks which I look forward to as my knee heals. Undoubtedly the extra weight I carry has been hard on my knees.
Here's to feeling and looking great!
Cynthia

Cynthia, how are you doing today? I do hope you reach your goal... for your mom's sake!

Down .6 today. I guess I should give up the hope of a big whoosh since I am on the 2nd week but I've been happy with the steady loss. I have 12 days to make my mini-goal and need to lose 8.8 by then but being realistic, even if that doesn't happen (which at this rate, probably might not), I'll still be really happy.

Can I join the 40 day round too? I have lost almost 10lbs in 9vlcd and I'm motivated to continue. I want to lose 20-30lbs so I may just keep on going. I hope to lose it all by then. Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!

I am going for 40! My DH and I are in this together and unless I stop losing entirely I'm gonna do the full 40. I'm halfway there, so why stop now. Plus I've got about another 60 to 70 lbs to lose.

Well. My husband is going to Italy for a week in mid-June, so I thought it would be good to extend it until then because I can ease into P3 with less distraction - like having to cook for him. Oh, you can believe I will need your help then! Be ready, lol!

I tried to do 40 days my 1st round, but cut it short at 35. I was just over it. P3 was awesome, and i maintained my ldw (with a correction day or 3, lol) for 3.5 weeks. I lost an amazing 35lbs in my 1st round! I am now on R2 and would like to do 30-40 days as well, as long as i keep losing im gonna go for it!

LilacBruze, good luck! I did a 40 day round my first round and lost 24 pounds, a shorter round in my second round (33 days)(because I noticed in my first round I really didn't lose much in the last week), but this third round I lost very well and hung in there until 44 days with a loss of 29 lbs when I had to stop because I was feeling very fatigued/weary.

But go for it! 40 days is do-able. I did much better this round because I made sure to really vary my meals and used a lot of different recipes. Good luck!

My first round was the best round ever!! I say go for it as long as you can stand it. 40 days is so doable, especially when you are on a roll.

I went 76 days my first round. I only did that because I too was afraid of P3.

NEVER AGAIN AFRAID OF P3 - P3 is AWESOME, it ROCKS, I can't wait to get there again.

21 day rounds for me from now on.

I'm afraid of eating the wrong things and not stabilizing. I read a lot about needing to do correction days and worry that will be me. I'm sure it's because I don't know what I am really doing at this point and that it will get easier as I get closer to it. I was afraid of doing hcg a few weeks ago too! And look at me go!

I did 40 days my first round and now I'm in the beginnings of my 2nd round and planning to go 40 days this time as well. It worked for me. I felt like I was in the zone and could just keep going. I was also scared of P3 and terrified of P4 but wound up loving both (in no small part thanks to the wonderful support and advice here)

Personally, I'm all for the 40 day rounds (but also all for shorter rounds for those that prefer that approach!) I do think a full P3 and P4 are important - at least they were for me and at the start I wanted no part of either one!
