I love some of the blends you can find in custom spice shops on line....perfectly legal. Just make sure you read content to make sure there's no sugar.

Spices in plastic , I never buy. The difference in taste of fresh spices is unbelievable.

I take a taco blend that I buy on line and mix 4T with 6 oz water and add that to lean ground beef...all crumbled up. 1lb Divide into your portions and put one portion over iceberg lettuce. I don't use dressing! It's that yummy!

actually Braggs Aminos and Liquid Smoke were some of the things that helped us the most. With some tomato paste-- If I remember right 4tbs equals your 2 cup serving of tomato for that meal---- water, liquid smoke, stevia, chili ,powder garlic, onion powder, and whatever other spices you like you can come up with somthing like BBQ sauce. There's no substitute for brown sugar and molassas, so it's just "something like " BBQ, pretty good though

Do you have measurements you can share for your *almost BBQ sauce*?
Thanks

Dream~
I just simmer my chicken breasts till done and I strain then drink the water:blush: I do not season--but I almost exclusively dip them in Frank's Red Hot Sauce & Gulden's Brown Spicy mustard--not mixed just a few squirts if each on my plate. Not much help!

Also check the package for added salt and other crap before you buy!!!!!

Well, I was thinking that maybe the plain chicken breasts might taste better for me fixed on my new indoor grill than in a pan on the stove.

I don't think I've cooked a plain chicken breast in over 10 years.....Not exactly looking forward to it!

I am definitely a fan of franks sauce on my wings and I haven't tried the gulden's. Will keep those in mind

no, sorry I'm awful about putting in a little of this and a little of that-- if you are making one serving, use the 4 tbs of tomato paste (that will be your veggie for the meal if you use it all) and enough water to make it pourable. The seasoning that you will use the most of is garlic salt, a tsp or so of Braggs and a few dashes of Liquid Smoke, we used about 7 drops of stevia, and chili powder, cumin, ... really, just add a little of this and that, whatever sounds good, just let it simmer a few min. before you add more of a seasoning. Then I would pour it over my chicken cover it and bake..yumm

I buy all my spices from a place called Penzeys. They have some fantastic spice blends but I love their lemon pepper, shallot pepper, Italian seasoning, cumin, chili powder, Arizona Dreaming, Mural of Flavor, Chili 9000, onion powder and garlic powder. I have a WEE bit of a spice obsession! The only thing to watch out for is that they DO add sugar to some of their spices. If you're not starting for 3 weeks, you have time to order some! They are very reasonably priced and VERY good quality. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I hadn't eaten them for quite some time either! I'm betting that once you're on plan, you'll come around.

Well thank you! I'm all about sauces and dip like stuff. I'll probably use it a little differently than intended, though.

Shelby, I have the same spice obsession! But I order from Penzey's sister's company "the spice house". Did you know that it was a family thing? The Father actually started I guess!

Their version of Mrs Dash is awesome! Putting their spice blends on meat is what got me and my hubby through our first P2!

Honestly, aside from the chicken dishes you can make with Bragg's, etc., I think the BEST chicken is just salt and pepper, then on the grill. The smokiness of the grill brings so much flavor, and the simple s&p flavoring is perfect. I'm not sure about an indoor grill since I use our outdoor one, but to me, this is simple and perfect tasting.
