I have tried both and I think it is a taste/texture thing for me. To ME, the Himalayan was gritty and seemed to have little rocks/sand in it. I don't notice it when I cook but when I put it in my water, I do. The Celtic is much smoother and I think has a little bit of a "nutty" flavor that I enjoy. They both work equally well for the trace minerals and getting rid of the dizzies.

I like the himalayian flake salt. Very beneficial health-wise and none of the grittiness of the granular kind, so it can be used for cooking or for finishing.

Besides, mine's pink, which makes me smile.

For health purposes, the celtic is better. It has a higher mineral to sodium and chloride ratio (~84% sodium/chloride and 16% other) while himalayan has 4.7% other and 95.3% sodium chloride
