So where's this big whoosh?

VLCD 4 for me and I am only down .8 of a pound pre-loading weight.

I don't understand it. I am seeing others losing during loading (I was up 3.5 lbs) and losing more quickly than me. I am jealous and frustrated.

I am not rogue, I drink plenty of water. TOM is almost here for me, could that be why? Could it be that once it gets here, the big whoosh will come?

I also got these mini-panic attacks about not losing when doing Atkins Induction. Stall days would put me in a bad mood. There were days when the scale just wouldn't budge, sometimes 3-4-5 in a row and then boom! I'd lose a pound a day for a week before stalling again.

I guess I just had higher hopes for a stricter, more depriving diet. So if you tell me to relax, it will happen, I will relax and wait for it to happen!

Relax! How much water are you drinking? How much caffeine? Any diet sodas or anything off plan? Are you tracking calories? Skipping the melba or fruit? Let us know...

I am drinking 80 oz of water a day (have a tracker on my phone and have it set to 10 cups per day). No diet sodas, no cream/sweetener in my 1 cup of morning coffee. I weigh my chicken breast, use vinegar/salt/pepper/dill in my cucumbers. 2 melba toast a day, 2 apples. I'm not tracking calories because I eat the same thing daily and when I calculated it initially, it came to 490/day and I have not deviated.

I have been wracking my brain to come up with reasons why. Here is all I could come up with:

I drank herbal tea yesterday - 3 cups worth. One was a chai, one was Wild Orange, and one was Lotus Flower. No sweeteners in any of them.

I use a cream from Bath and Body Works for my feet. I am using baby oil on everything else, but my feet are in sandals and must look good, without something heavy duty they would be quick to resemble hooves.

My medications. I am on Metformin and Ongyza for my diabetes (the two combined cause water retention, for which I also take Lasix as needed), Vytorin for my cholesterol, and Copaxone injections for my MS.

TOM just arrived, as I thought. As in, just now lol.

TOM may be the culprit. Hang til he leaves. Also you might consider weighing your apple (over 200g makes me gain) and switching out one apple for either strawberries or grapefruit. Just a thought.

I will weigh my apple, I guess I didn't think of that. They HAVE been on the smaller side, but I guess I will see when I get home.

Another thought here....Stevie Renee would not lose if she ate apples. She cannot have apples or chicken while on P2. They do cause her to gain/stay the same. I sure hope you are not having "chicken or apple issues". Hopefully you can blame TOM.

DOUBLE BINGO -

#1 - Your water pill - In Pounds and Inches it addresses that.

#2 - Your TOM - Seems like P&I said to start the protocol when your finished with TOM.

Now that you've started though, just ride it out. Whoosh will come!

TOM is always huge for me, always has been

one note though...just because its been good for me, but YMMV, the half grapefruit thing seems to be the days i lose more. I eat the grapefruit the normal way then i pull all the left over stuff out and eat that too (fiber yanno lol)..or peel them and cut them up sprinkled with whatever sweetner works for you. (splenda and sweetnlow havent hurt me, but again, everyone is different)

I'd be afraid to do 2 apples in one day...havent tried it yet.

You know that Dr Oz said on one of his shows that citrus--or at least the vitamin C that one gets form the citrus---is one key that unlocks/untraps the fat in our bodies. Enjoy that grapefruit. It is why I try to include the grapefruit in my day!!! Even after P2!!

#1 - I use my water pill very, very sparingly. I think I've used it twice in a 4 week period.

#2 - I have repeatedly seen that TOM is not an issue when on hHcg. Is this not the case?

I will see what happens over the next few days. Usually I balloon with TOM and my weight will eventually start to go down afterward. If not, I will switch to grapefruit. But I really dislike grapefruit! Blech!

No need to switch to something you don't like. What about strawberries or oranges? They are on the list too!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is sadly not the case Just ask Nancy--she is AKA Charms. The hcg (and in particular the homeopathic) messes with your hormones and it makes you wonky. You can have shorter, lighter, more frequent, less frequent, more crampy, less crampy TOMs than you have had before. Everything and anything is possible when you disrupt the hormone balance. The very reason Dr S suggests starting the P2 after your period is over. Best of luck to you this week!!!

Grrrr. I started a thread last week about this.

TOM - When do you start?

I understood the wonky issues but didn't think they'd interfere with the whoosh. But from what I understand from all the research I've done, hcg can make TOM wonky no matter when it's started because of that very fact of disrupting the hormone balance.

Just tell me this is not a lost cause and I didn't waste money/time/hunger pangs, please!

It will whoosh--it just may not whoosh 'til TOM is over. Hang in there! You didn't waste your time/money/hunger pangs. When you fit into those pants one size down NEXT WEEK you'll be very happy you stuck to it!

Thanks SO much. I am not giving up. I sort of answered myself up there when I said "I always balloon" and don't know why I am freaking out about it. I really want to succeed. I really want to follow protocol. I am so motivated it's positively ridiculous. Now if only the scale would cooperate!

Everyone, thanks for all your posts whenever I have a question or concern. I'm gonna make you proud, I swear!

Btw... yesterday for the first time in TWENTY YEARS, I bought something in a Misses' XL and IT FIT (snugly, but I'll take it)! Bye bye plus sizes!
