I can't add the onions because that would be "mixing vegetables" although I probably add enough onion powder to count as another vegetable!
It's pretty good, and I never tried apple cider vinegar before this diet (I always used white vinegar for the cucumber salad), and now I really love it!

Good luck with the VLCD!

I used to drink 256 ounces a day (two gallons exactly) when I was a stay-at-home mom and I almost got water intoxication a few times. I cut it back to a gallon - I was washing away all the vitamins I was taking and didn't feel good either. Not to mention practically living in the bathroom.

I just want to say for not trying the P2 chili sooner!

For lunch yesterday: P2 chili (100g 96/4 ground beef with 150g drained fire-roasted tomatoes with garlic, chili powder, and Frank's hot sauce)

For dinner: 100g shrimp tossed with lemon juice, cilantro, cracked pepper, and 150 diced seedless cucumber

Typical Menu

I only started this yesterday and joined the forum today but I have planned the diet as well as I can but would appreciate comments from other users as I am worried I am eating too much!

B: Greek yogurt with blueberries/raspberries (unsweetened) w/ light cranberry juice
L: Prawn salad w/ cucumber, paprika and sesame seeds
A small snack of Edam cheese
2 diet cokes
D: 1/4 Smoked bacon joint, egg white cheese and spinach omelette
8-10 Strawberries
Green tea

Is that a reasonable amount? Will I lose weight on that? It feels less than my normal diet (i.e. I am hungry).

Does everyone measure their food meticulously? I thought the low-carb/Atkins diet meant measuring wasn't a necessity

Thanks for any comments!

Are you on P2 or P3?

If you're on P2 and following protocol you should only be eating 500 calories a day from the approved food list in Pounds and Inches.

Gosh - Clearly I haven't planned that well. I am just doing low-carb (under 20g approx per day) and trying to be healthy. I'm not measuring calories... Just 500 calories a day? I think that might be a little hardcore for me!

Are you doing HCG protocol or just general low carb? Nvm, I see you're doing more of an Atkins type thing, this diet, the HCG Protocol, is different from Atkins it's a little more "involved" I think you might have posted in the wrong forum.

Your menu looks good though although if you're hungry I would add some good fats to the dressing for your salad and use the whole egg instead of just the whites for your omelette and eat full fat Greek yogurt

P2 rogue. I skip the melbas a lot. I mix veggies sometimes, and a time or two a week I might have a bourbon while staying under 500 cal. The bourbon slows me down, so don't do as I do.
P3/P4 I am a good monkey except for the bourbon.

P2:
66 oz fluids, as water, weak herbal tea, or sparkling mineral water.
3 mugs black coffee, 2 Tbl ACV or lemon juice in water w/sweetner.
L: chicken, romaine, either ACV-based dressing or walden farms, usually apple or orange but I like all the fruits. Sometimes I save part of my food to eat mid-afternoon.
D: I rotate chicken, fish, shrimp, crab, and rarely beef.
Asparagus or a mixed salad or raw tomato or sometimes medley of broccoli, chinese cabbage or bok choy or savoy, onion, and asparagus and cherry tomatoes (it's usually dabs of leftovers with a lot of a nifty cabbage)
Usually warmed frozen strawberries for dessert, sometimes with a melba crushed on them.

P3
cottage cheese for breakfast, fluids as above, 2 tsp flax oil, 1 oz walnuts.
salad and chicken for lunch
fruit and leftover meat if I want a snack, or cheese or avocado w/veg strips.
dinner is chicken thighs, beef, pork, or seafood with a cooked veg and a salad
dessert is cocoa crack or berries without whipped cream.

P4
same as P3 except I'll have half a sweet potato or some wild/brown rice or some ezekiel bread a few times a week. Plenty of legumes. I might drink a beer every couple weeks. White potatoes and white bread and sugar and I don't play well together, so those are very rarely used.
