Melanie, I feel your pain!! (read your post about self sabatoge and its just like mine!!) Why oh why do we do this???

Boo... I was bad last night, after being soo good all day, plenty of exercise and mostly after the "family" dinner fell into a grilled cheese??? and a klondike bar... UGH!! Up 3 pounds... (hanging my head is shame), I have been spot on no cheats...where the heck did that come from??? I hope most of that is water!!! And gone in a few days, but as usual a bit of self sabatoge for me!! Sounds like the losses are slim this morning, but mine is self induced. Good luck to the rest of you still to weigh in!!

((I posted this on the retired thread, so I copied it over to here.))

Thanks for starting the new thread, Mini!

I didn't know you were going through so much, Melanie! You were so quiet about it, or I just missed anything you posted about it. Why do deaths come so close to one another??? As if one isn't more than enough to handle at one time. You're doing great, Melanie. Don't beat yourself up. One day does not a failure make. Just don't let it become a routine and you'll be where you want to be. I think we all have that "abort" switch inside of us, when we get the notion we want to sabatage our efforts. Human nature is a B*****.

Mini, I LOVE your new Avi! Please post it as earlier instructed so we can really appreciate it. I use Photobucket. It's very easy, once you've done it. Just copy and paste the entire URL for the picture, then when you go to paste it into the window for the "Insert Image", delete the "http://" that's already there and paste your URL.

I woke up early today, so the scale was up another 0.6. If I had weighed at 1100 it would have probably been down a lb. But, NO. So now I have many hours to fill today. I guess I'll have to go do something constructive, like yard work and maybe firing up the mower. Or maybe shop for someone to do my lawn maintainence this final year of living here! Now that would be a real treat. Hmmmm....

Hi, Ladies --

Thanks for the compliments on the avatar -- I don't have time to play with pictures this morning, but in lieu of that, I promise you all scantily-clad progress pictures after the weekend (lol), and I will figure out how to link to them.

I think the mantra for the week should be "new week, new opportunity" --- sounds like a lot of people are seeing gains, and had moments of eating that doesn't seem such a great idea in retrospect, and so forth. Learning why we sabotage ourselves is a huge part of this process, I think. I wonder why being at goal is so threatening for us? (myself included... ).

I can say this for sure -- those huge jumps up on the scale really *are* mostly water, and they do come back off, but sometimes it takes a few days.

Good morning, lovlies! So I had a bouncy weekend. Not big bounces, but still. Overall, I did ok and am .-2 this morning for a total of 13 lbs gone. I'll take it and move on.

Mini--your new avi is great! Like the others, I'd love to see a larger pic. You look very fit.

Cathy--no shame! Just dust yourself off and jump back in. I am the Queen of Self-Sabotage so I know what you are talking about, girl. That Klondike bar...so was it delicious? /dreaming

Melanie-- for all your recent losses. I posted this before, but here are mine: June 15, 2009 I lost my youngest brother; June 16, 2010 I lost my next youngest brother; June 17, 2010 we lost one of our sweet doggies; Oct 16, 2010 I lost my dad. I know how it feels when sh*t hits the fan and it is hard (understatement!), but time helps. Hang in there, Melanie.

Hi Teri & Paula! And to others who pop in later!

I am not getting on the scale today -- I also ate a bit more than I should have the past two days, and although I saw a nice drop yesterday anyhow (that was cool!,) I just don't need to see a number -- any number-- this morning.

I am really, truly sore today -- I broke out my old "the Firm" workouts the past two days -- legs on Saturday, upper body and abs yesterday -- and did some serious interval training with relatively heavy weights, which I haven't done in quite some time.

I need a rest and recovery day physically --- will keep the eating very light, and the exercise light too -- I may do some abs, if I work out at all, but that's it.

Wishing you all a good start to the week, and some renewed motivation to keep working towards your goals.... this is a process, to be sure, and not a straight line from start to finish.

You guys are all so sweet, thanks for all your thoughts. In addition to losing both his aunt and his grandmother, my husband is left having to help with his sister who has cerebral palsey and help with the farm. It's been quite a bit of work trying to work in these extra responsibilities, but we're doing it. This is a busy time of year for us as we plant a huge garden so that's gotta get in the ground this weekend. The seedlings should be ready by then. Fingers crossed.

Cathy- I'm a self sabbotager. I always manage to find a way to freak out when I get close to any accomplishment. I always look for the best in others and focus on the worse of myself. I posted a picture on facebook yesterday of me and my daughter and I got so many compliments yet all I could focus on were my fat arms the fat roll on my stomach. I have a cousin and a friend who have both lost similar amounts of weight and the three of us had a good talk about the last 10 and it was interesting and comforting to know that they went through the same thing.

I'm not so worried about the gain. I know its not from consumping 12000 calories but more from what I ate. I'm guessing it'll be gone easily by Wednesday if I keep chugging the water and I can get bernice to show. I'm more frustrated in my self sabbotaging ways. On a plus note I'll ovulate this week and then I always seem to lose weight quickly the week following. I'm still aiming for goal by the end of the month!

Hello, Roguers! I am back from my hiatus and ready to lose more. Since mid-April, DH & I have been very busy. I am pleased to say that I managed to end up only 0.8 over LDW. Considering I had quite a few instances of 'straying' from P3, I am quite pleased.

I decided to try cycling - alternate short (2 week) P2's with P3's of varying length. The length of P3 will vary according to my schedule. I find that I lose most of what I lose during the first 2 P2 weeks, so why not try this.

I loaded on Mother's Day (didn't go too crazy though) and today started VLCD. I look forward to checking in daily again.

Have a great Monday!

Pi, keep us posted, please! I also find I lose it all in the first 2 weeks of P2, and the last week is usually (okay, I have all of 2 previous rounds as a base, but this is looking eerily similar for round 3) really slow.

As to me, Bernice visited a few times today, so I'm not confident this 1.0 loss today is 'real'. As in, I'm likely supposed to be at 183.5, and would be at 183.0 Weds. with any luck. So if the scale doesn't move tomorrow, I'll have been correct. That said, I hope to Dante's 9 Hells I'm wrong and the scale will be lower yet again tomorrow!

Hope everyone has had a good day!

Welcome home, Pat! Nice to have you back with us.

Mousie, we are almost neck and neck! I hope to be where you are at in the next day or two. I've been hanging around the mid 180's long enough! I know I have to get into the 170's before I start P3'ing, so I need to really focus and get there.

Not sure if any of you know Dessa, but she had surgery today (weight loss surgery). We are awaiting word of how it went. Just FYI.

So, I'm all out of the dreaded smart pop popcorn bags. No more grains until I get to P4 (if I ever do...) Haven't had an apple in ages, either. Need to go shopping and get my favorite Gala's.

Nite, all. Have an excellent evening.

Waiting for my 2pm drops to kick in...so hungry! My goal for this week is to remember that I'M in control of what I eat!! Seems simple, bit too often these last couple of weeks I've forgotten. Step daughter's graduation is June 11! I really want to feel (if not look) slimmer!!

I weighed myself just for the heck of it at 7 pm and I was 184.2! Not fasting and not naked. Tomorrow's weigh-in should be interesting.

I weigh myself throughout the day and then right before bed and play a little game with myself trying to guess what it's going to say in the morning, lol! I hope you have a good number tomorrow morning. I weighed a little bit ago and was where I was this morning so I'm not expecting a good loss.

You're BRAVE, Melanie! I just about never weigh unless I'm naked, fasting and had a good night's sleep. But this should be interesting. I wonder if it will start me weighing throughout the day, like you do. I hope not! Once a day when you're empty and rested should be a good enough indicator of where you are.

But thanks for wishing me a good weigh-in tomorrow! I hope you get a nice surprise, too.

Cheryl, it keeps me in check. Last night it kept me away from the chocolate chip cookies when I had decided the day was a wash! I keep the scale in the kitchen by the pantry.

So I'm mssing my cocoa covered almonds. This is going to be the first thing I eat when I move on to p3! LOL!

One good thing about a cheat day or up calorie day for me is that the next day I've got enough energy to get a really good workout in! I burned a good 650 calories on the treadmill tonight, this after I weeded and planted flowers for a good hour. Can't beat that! Yes, lets hope for a good number in the morning!

You're pooping me out, just thinking about all you did today! I'm going to have to try those cocoa almonds when I get out of P2. You make them sound great. I love almonds, anyway. I used to really be into the Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds. Oooh! I love pistachios in the shell, too (not the red kind.) I like walnuts but usually only in things like salads (kind of like a crouton to me) and when I tried making Flax meal cereal with Almond milk and splenda. Yummy!

Those almonds are my vice! The good news is though they really help keep me regular and give me that boost I need when I'm tired! They also fix my chocolate craving. Cheryl, my life is exhausting, lol! I still have dishes and laundry to do then pick up the living room and find shot records on the kids as they go tomorrow for shots. It's nearly 10, I've got plenty of time, right?

Ok, since I feel like procrastinating tonight, here's a before and current picture of me. The before was actually 1 week into my diet back in August of 2003. The current was me and my daughter yesterday. She got to pick out my outfit so don't laugh!

Huh. Usually those commercial things are loaded with sugar. I'll have to look next time I'm at the wholesale club. Thanks for the tip!

Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm April <waving>... I've lost 35 pounds with really strict HCG, but have been wavering lately between Atkins and HCG... I'm so interested in those of you who are still using the drops and yet eating a little more variety in your food - that sounds so appealing!!! I think I need a little more variety or I'm heading toward an awful food-fest :-) I'm 45 - have osteoarthritis, and have already had my back and left knee fused... I'm trying to lose this last 30 pounds to avoid (prolong) having my right knee replaced... Just wanted to say hello! Any help/advice on HCG and more food choices will be GREATLY appreciated :-)

Hi April! Welcome!

Mousie- they have 1 more carb/serving than the non-flavored variety. I've seen them at other stores in smaller containers too. They never cause a stall or gain and I get my chocolate fix.

So according to my nightly weigh-in I'm not going to be dropping these 4 pounds anytime soon. So disappointed in myself. Grrr!
