I had just started lurking here when they revamped the site. I originally joined in 2002, got pregnant and then after my DD was born, I made a new account. I didn't stay very long then because I was breastfeeding and afraid to be in ketosis and I couldn't stay on plan without being in ketosis.

I've been using a lot of mustard. I mix a little yellow mustard, a little dijon, some vinegar and liquid splenda and eat if on cabbage or fish/chicken.

I haven't posted since Tuesday, before we went to Disneyland. I did good there but I didn't have very much food because I forgot to take my protein shake. I was looking to buy some nuts but I couldn't find any, so I ended up right around 400 calories. Honestly, the food at DL is not very good so I wasn't really tempted. I was down another pound yesterday to 118 and this morning my scale was going back and forth between 117.5-118 but I'm calling it 118 in the hopes it will be down tomorrow.

R3 VLCD Day 5 - so far I am down a total of 4.4 (not including load) from the first four VLCD days.

Like I mentioned earlier this week, I've had a total lack of physical hunger. However last night I had the sensation of missing food. Kind of like when I quit smoking 16 years ago - aside from any nicotine withdrawal, I really missed cigarettes, sort of like a close friend passed away.

Weird, I know. Maybe its because food (eating it, preparing it, planning it, etc) is such a part of my life. Now I spend very little time in the kitchen except to cook my meager meals & make some dinner for DH.

Cheryl - Nice picture! Hope your family dinner went well. Lasagna, you say. That is a hard one to fit into an HCG lifestyle no matter how rogue.

GAPeach - please share your dressing recipe. I have given up salad while on the diet since I can't get into the dressings. Even Walden Farms won't do it for me. My local grocery does sell a fresh salsa that tastes good as a dressing if I make a taco salad.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Down another pound!

That's 9.8 pounds gone since I started March 20th. Very slow, but finally some movement.

135.4...fat percentage is almost ready to dip below 30!

I don't think I'll see any loss today. Am eating at Medieval Times with my DD's Science Club field trip. At least I can eat P3 there!

I'll be back to post tonight... Cheryl, nice to 'see' you finally!

Cheryl - Great pic. You look wonderful!

down .8 today for a total of 12.6 (not including loading weight), today is VLCD 19, I think I am gonna go at least another week and then see how I feel.

I have a birthday party for my nephew tomorrow so that may be tough. hopefully they will have burger and I'll just eat 1/2 of one! I just won't eat if they don't have stuff I can have.

It's a -.4 for me today and a total of -15! Yeehaw! Where else could I have lost 15 lbs in 19 days, but with hhcg? I didn't do that well, even on my golden shot with Atkins. So awesome!

This morning I was thisclose to getting my Starbucks latte [SF vanilla, breve, no foam latte, extra love, delicious happiness]. But now the craving has thankfully receded. It'll be my Irish breakfast tea with cream. Whew.

Cheryl - love the happy photo! How'd you do at the dinner?

for Tina, Paula and Pi's losses!

Mini- I may have to look up that workout.

Good morning everyone!

Cheryl - love the AV!

Everyone - great losing!

Hugs to anyone having a hard time.

I am getting a bit scared.... boo hoo..... loading tomorrow and Sunday, doing a 21 day round. I am so not ready for what is in store for me, but I have got to get one round done before bathing suits. It still won't be "pretty" in a bathing suit, but maybe it will be less scarry. It's only 21 days.... well 23, right? I keep telling myself that.

I had a great P4 day yesterday. Ate A LOT and am still well within my window. .4 up from the day before.

TGIF and have a good one!

Morning ladies!!

Looks some good losses this morning so far, great job!!

I am happy to report the Mother's Day weight is finally gone!! and it took a little with it. I was down 1.2 this morning to 145.2!!

And even more exciting news!! 20 days until Jamaica baby, Montego Bay here I come on June 2nd!! Finished and paid yesterday (I am impatient, so last minute trips for me, dont like to wait too long to go)... so I have 2 weeks or so to get through the rest of this P2 and by the grace of god, be down 10 pounds and at goal??? I have lost 10 in 19 VLCD days... not sure I can do 10 in 14 days... but boy, I would be a happy girl. I could go a few extra days in P2, but not much so I am firmly out of P2 before I go! Feeling good this morning.

Had I not fudged all of last week, I would surely have made it! I will just pray for more swooshing too!!

Have a great Friday everyone!!

I'll ditto the nice picture Cheryl!

I'm down .8 today so still 3 pounds over my cheating weight from Mother's Day... boo hiss! Today in my total rogue, I could care less, style I'm having a steak day. Well, steak and mushrooms. All I'm eating today is my one meal of steak and mushrooms and I'll have plenty of water. That's it, oh and my vitamins! I can't let mushroom season go by without one amazing meal of them. And yes, I'm covering them in butter. After this it's strict protocol with extra protein for me for the next full week. I already got the meals planed. I'm going super simple- p2 chili (with ground turkey) and beef and cabbage stoup and I'll add a few meals of fish in there. That's it guys. I must, must, must hit goal or at least get back to the 155!

Mini- I just signed up for a bootcamp class. I need someone to kick my butt! You inspired me to kick it up a little!

Teri- have fun loading! Right now I'd do just about anything for some good pizza!

I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Keep the swooshing going!!!! I'm still above Mother's Day weight, but I know it's the stress and ovulation. This morning I woke up and told myself that it isn't worth stressing over this job. There's nothing I can do to change thier minds now if they decide to not renew my contract (I'm on a year to year contract and should know by the end of the month if I'm renewed). So I'm just going to come in and do what needs to be done and let the rest go. Now if only the weight would go too!

Thanks Cathy, I knew going into this job that it was going to be stressful. For the most part I love what I do and who I work with, but there's those moments, like now that leaves me wondering wth was I thinking! With the job market the way it is it would be tough to find anything compairable. Again, its out of my hands and I'll make the most of whatever they decide!

Thanks, I'm hoping for a swoosh come Sunday. I'm not expecting anything from today's naughty eating plan. Gotta eat my mushrooms though!

Oh and I'm totally feeling the ovulation set to begin! Just as predicted tomorrow's the day. Its funny how intune I am with my body. I have always felt ovulation, once I knew what it was. I didn't ovulate or have periods for literall 10 years unless they were induced by birth control or progesterone supplements. As soon as I dropped a good 50 pounds I became so regular that I can tell you the minute I ovulate!

Mini, you sure make working out sound fun! I hope you are taking bunches of pictures to document your muscles as they morph! And thank you for the compliment on the Avi. Now I don't look like a dove or a beach with a piece of driftwood on it!

Nice loss, Pat! I can understand what you are saying about the "mourning" the loss of something that is such a big part of your life (cooking and good, healthy foods.) The thing that gives me the energy to keep doing this is knowing that it isn't forever! Knowing that a much more satisfying phase is coming soon makes all the difference in my attitude about what I can eat now.

Thanks for the compliment! I bought Walden Farms products about a week or so into the plan, but other than dipping a fingertip into the ranch dressing to taste it, I haven't used any. I just can't do it. I feel like it's going to mess me up. I can live without salad until I can have my REAL dressing. My favorite is Buttermilk Ranch (full fat) by Hidden Valley. (Just got a couple bottles the other day at WalMart.

Yeehaw indeed! My "golden shot" at Atkins was way back in 1998. Long damn time ago. That latte sounds potent. Glad you resisted! Thanks for the compliment! Dinner and family gathering was great. I had an excellent time. Only up 0.4 lbs today!

Thanks, Teri! Don't be skeerd! You keep forgetting how "in the groove" you were on P2. I know you'll get there again, soon after you get going back on plan. You are doing so well on P3/4! I hope I can make it work like you and others are doing. I'll bet it's difficult in its own way, after such a strict P2!

Yea! I am so JEALOUS about your trip to Jamaica! I have never been to an Island. I might see how much it would cost to take a trip like that, as a treat for reaching my goal. Not that I'm rollin' in dough, but it's so nice to DREAM. Swoosh coming your way!

Thanks, Melanie! You all (y'all) are so sweet! I feel like I've "come out" in a way. Here I am, world! And it only gets better from here. Enjoy those shrooms in butter! The steak is the side dish in that meal! Oh! Is "stoup" a stew/soup concoction? (hehehehe.) Bootcamp! You are a tough bird, aren't you! I went through real bootcamp in the Air Force, back in 1990. "Honor Grad"!

I hope you can continue to work there, Melanie. When will you find out? Do you have a back-up plan?

I feel so amazing and happy right now. I feel so "bright." I have problems with depression and anxiety and when I feel like this, it's like the clouds have parted, the sun is shining through and there's a gentle breeze carrying sounds of chirping birdies and distant church bells. We all need more days like this.

A bit stalled after my Mother's Day splurges but starting move down now.
Love that I'm not hungry but find I really need to be prepared.
Also find that if I don't take my hcg in time then I am hungry.
A bit worried about the end of R1P2. Does anyone taper their hcg or just go off cold turkey? Anyone have headaches when going off? Just getting prepared. Thanks!

You ladies are doing so well!!!!!!!!! Melanie, I wonder if just staying off the scale for a few days would help? I did that when I was stalled in my first p2, and it did wonders for my mental state.

Speaking of staying off the scale, I did just that today... I am finding that daily weighing isn't terribly productive given the ups and downs of exercising, so I am weighing every other day or so, and just really not worrying about it too much.

SOOOO jealous about the Jamaica trip... my goodness does that sound like a dream come true!!!

Cheryl --- LOL about looking like a dove --- you know how people tend to look like their pets? I have a couple of pictures of me and my pigeon Slayer, where I swear it looks like I am growing a beak! I have a kinda long, hooky nose in any event, and it is more pronounced when I am leaner..... I guess there are worse things....

Oh, and yes, I do find working out very fun... it honestly is one of my greatest joys in life. I've been involved in athletics of one kind or another since I was a kid, and I just feel so much better when I am active.

I am not particularly sore this morning, surprisingly -- that DVD kicked some serious, serious glutes (literally!) For you veteran exercisers, I would absolutely recommend it!!! It wouldn't be a good starting point if you are new to weights or to interval isometrics (or even just out of practice), because it really is many notches above the older Bar Method workouts... but I am just LOVING it.

Cheryl... saw your post on the exercise thread.... I have an extra set of the Lotte Berk method workouts. If you'd like them, PM me an address, and I will pop them in the mail to you... I am not using them, and would like to find them a good home!

Seriously?? I'd love you for it! I'll send you a PM. How nice of you! Wait a minute... I don't want you putting out money to ship something when you are having such financial troubles right now. If you give me your address, I'll send you a check to cover the postage. Okay? That's only fair! In fact, if you have a Paypal account, I can give you the money much quicker.

That's so funny about you looking like your bird! Thankfully, so far I haven't taken on the appearance of any of my beloved pets, though I do think they are beautiful!

Later, girls. Time to go play poker on Facebook or something.

Cheryl, I've been told that I'm doing an amazing job and expect a call back in July. Nice, huh? Still I don't trust them! I have no backup plan. Well, the goal is to refinance the house to pay off my van. My son will be in kindergargen so I won't have his preschool bill and I'd bump my daughter down to 3 days a week instead of 5. Between those things we'd be fine. I actually didn't work at all last summer and only worked 10 hours/week for the last 3 years prior. I just really, really love my job!

Mini- I've gotta weigh daily or I don't stay on plan. I fall prey of the I'll just not look tomorrow and be good tomorrow ploy!

I'm home with 2 sick kiddos and now I'm feeling sick. Watch me be too sick to enjoy those 'shrooms later!

Oh and Cheryl, yes that's my cabbage, beef and tomatoes all together like a thin stew/think soup. It's my favorite p2 meal and I lose great on it!

Yummy! And I just thought it was a funny typo! Too bad you can't make a living out of Morels, huh. What do you do for work? I'm not sure if you said you were a teacher. I get people mixed up sometimes.

I have taken after you lately and weigh more than one time per day. So far, so good! It never used to be a true indication of where I was at, but lately it has been. For someone like Mini though, I think it's wise for her to weigh only a few times a week. She's got her weight "in the bag" and she's eating right and working her tail off with the exercise. What more can she do?

Sorry the kids are sick, Melanie. Just a cold? Hope it passes soon. I hope you aren't coming down with it, too! That's all you need.

So, should we all make plans for a group trip to Jamaica sometime? Maybe we could get a discount for a group rate! Cruise anyone? Now there's something I could spend serious time fantasizing about!

I had a ~wonderful~ doctor experience. I found an endocrinologist who "got it". Very nice, listened, ran a BUNCH of tests, followed up, and now I have a prescription for Progesterone Cream, Vitamin D, and THYROID meds! YAY!!! His words? "I want to see you in 3 months - you'll be a changed woman, you should feel much better." He said it should help the pain from my fibromyalgia also. I can't tell you how sharp of a contrast I have now vs where I was 2 months ago in regards to my health. Between a decent doc & HCG wt loss, I feel like I have some hope.

As for enjoying exercise, I had a sort of epiphany last night. I am fairly active (by demand) and I like to swim, I like to stretch, I used to enjoy bikes, but I don't like things that HURT. I realized that it is no wonder why I don't like most exercise, I am in nearly constant pain and usually have tremendous fatigue. Because of my health, exercise isn't feeling good, and that's why I don't like it. If I can get some wt off, my hormones back in balance, my fibro to abate some, thyroid meds, etc I might feel well enough to ENJOY EXERCISE!!! Can you imagine? *happy sighs*

My weight is returning to my low, after the Mother's Day weekend with the less than P2 food. I was up to 279, and am now back down to 272lbs. Another pound and a half, and I'll be back in new territory. I'm hoping to stay P2 for the summer. Depending how my cravings/hormones go with my TOM, if I managed .5lbs/day I could be down 50 lbs by the end of August. *swoons*

Is that even reasonable?

I don't know if it's reasonable. But your body will surely let you know what it thinks! We can add or subtract the length of P2 as we please. Ain't it great?

That's so awesome about your Doc. Are you newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism? Wow! You are going to start feeling much better once everything is back in balance. Woohooo!

Got a funeral early in the morning tomorrow, then I'm "home free" as far as no more dietary challenges for this P2.

Yep, the thyroid is "new". I have thought that for YEARS but no one would listen. This is the first doc to hear me and run a full panel. What a relief!

Did he test your antibodies too? That would tell you if you have Hashimoto's or not (autoimmune type that I have.)

R1 VLCD 6 Down 2 more pounds for 7.6 pounds.....weighed in at 199.2 this morning.... Loving this plan. Meeting dear old friends for drinks tonight though and I'm scared to death. Plan to have a couple of beers and that's it. Only had one piece of fish and 4 ounces of chicken today....no veggies and nothing else...worked most of the day and didn't have time to eat anything else. Will try and get back later to read, go to get read to meet some old friends. Congrats to all the losers.
