She hadn't been in CT for a week or more, so I wasn't expecting her to show, let alone stick around! I want her to make her rounds! Go share the wealth, Fairy Girl! Thanks for stopping by but I don't want to be unfair!

Thank you for the woots! I am in shock and I am wondering lots of things. In the end, it's probably just my body letting go of weight in its own time and way. But Saturday was a one-day refeed (for Mother's Day) and I haven't had any popcorn since Monday (no grains at all) and I can't remember the last time I ate fruit. Could it be related or coincidental? God only knows.

I doubt very much that I'll lose three days in a row. But tomorrow night is the family dinner that I was just made aware of two days ago, and Saturday is a funeral that I need to attend. My God-mother's mother passed away yesterday at the ripe old age of 94. So, it's sad but it was inevitable. That kind of loss is a lot easier to handle. What more can you hope for than to live to 94 and be living at home with your daughter? It can't get much better than that.

So, I will have to really be strong to get through this week. It's way too soon for another off-plan day. I would hate to screw this up when I'm so close to ending this forever-round. I so want to "reset" in P3 at 175.

Mini, thanks for your openess to suggestions. I hope and pray that your situation lightens up on multiple levels. When the pressure comes at you from multiple directions, it's difficult to know where to go! You feel trapped. Been there, honey! Hope I never go back. I'm addicted to peace now, after all that chaos. I avoid drama at all costs.

Good to hear about your dove! Yippee!

Okay, at this point, as much as I generally despise and mistrust doctors, I'm thinking you really need to go see one. This just ain't right, perimenopause or not. I've been in peri since I was 35, so, what, almost 7 years now? And in all my reading on it, in trying to figure out what's going on, I've never heard of anything like this. *keeps fingers crossed for you*

I was thinking the same thing, Mousie. It's time to get some tests done and get to the bottom of this. I was just googling menstrual irregularities and low body fat percentage and they all say that your period STOPS when you have little body fat (especially when athletic.) Please go see a Dr, Mini!

Hey Ladies.....think I'll join you. Started my first round ever last week. Loaded Fri. and Sat., So began VLCD4 today....doing well down 4.4 pounds....lost a pound during loading. I have read P&I and everything I could get my hands on regarding this plan. I was going to go strictly by the protocol but frankly knew I couldn't hack 40 day (43 actually) with the list of veggies Dr. S lists...so my rogue self added summer squash and turnip greens. I have also decided to eliminate the fruits after the strawberries I bought are gone, they don't trigger me, I just don't enjoy fruit...except watermelon and it's not on the list and frankly it's really sugary so not adding that. So not too rogue just not eating fruit and I'm adding squash and turnips....that is thus far. I want to lose 50-55 pounds so I'll be doing more than 1 round but probably will only go 6 weeks in between rounds.

Saying a big hello to everyone.....

Yes, Karen. You will have a lot to add this time around! It's lovely in Georgia. Lucky you!

Melanie, beware! That stuff is addictive! And salty as hell, too. I see a difference in my losses when I manage to stay away from that stuff. I think it's okay to have a few times a week, but I was getting so out of control with it. Hope it initiates a visit from Bernice!

I cant remember the last time I drank pickle juice, used to love the stuff! Yeah, that will set you back a bit... might try just a touch of salt to your meat instead!

I'm actually running into a different issue. After years of working harmoniously with women leaders, a new male senior manager was brought in. Our management team which used to be 8 women and one man is now 8 men and one woman (in the course of 2 years). ALL the women have been "managed out" as we don't tend to "think the right way". Meaning we do not think like the men. Frustrating to say the least. And unfortunate because the women who were "managed out" have a lot to contribute but are now simply putting in their time until retirement.

You're one of the Founders here! How long has this site been in existence? Holy Cow, Karen! Well, we're glad you are becoming active here again. It's a whole new chapter for you. Pickle Juice= I love salt and add it liberally to my meals, but I'm not a big fan of pickles. Baby dills sometimes when I have a cheeseburger.

That sucks, Shelby. A happy workplace makes life so much more pleasant to live. How long do you have for retirement? You look young still. Very pretty lady, BTW.

I have noticed some muscle weakness and fatigue this afternoon. Just standing at the stove long enough to make something to eat had my legs trembling! I'm going to have to end this round soon. Please, God! Help me get to 175 so I can slide into P3!

P3 is just no sugars and no starches, so yeah! You can have Avocado's! I will be in HEAVEN when I can have my favorite dressings again. Salads will seem like a dream come true.

I take Chammomile caps for cramps, but a side effect is BAM! Instant regulation. My periods have always been all over the place - from 3 weeks to 1 1/2 months apart. If I even take ONE dose of Chammomile, it regulates me. Now, when my TOM was 1 1/2 mos apart, I didn't mind, but 3 weeks, yes, bring on the Chammomile!

Not trying to say not to check with your doctor, but Chammomile has always worked for me.

That's interesting - I'm up on quite a few herbals, but that's a new one on me (that particular effect, I mean). However, I'm regular like clockwork now, whereas before I hit peri, I was all over the place.

I hope Mini sees this, though, since she's the one with the never-ending TOM. Poor baby.

I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, the loveliness of this is infertility, and FACIAL HAIR i pluck my upper neck like a fiend, its horrible.

I never had periods, maybe 1 a year, its one reason i have a 26 yr old and a 14 yr old I was on clomid for 8 yrs! never worked, quit the clomid and BAMMO got preggers.

That being said, one of the things about POCS besides its one of those diseases that besides having cysts on ovaries (which isnt that rare anyway) there is not a defining way to diagnose, except having symptoms. Hair (facial), insulin resistant (which i am the queen of) easy to gain weight, heavy in the middle (apple ME) and no ovulation. I used to take metformin but gives you diarhhea (hmmmm im missing that kinda right now lol).

I will say that when i was trying to get pregnant i wieghed well over 230+ sometimes over 250+...once i lost my weight with atkins and got down to 180's and llower, BAMMO..my periods are very regular, esp for someone my age (47 this october). I'm looking forward to menipause (i think) I hate having TOM...they are horrible! HEAVY yucky horrible and a week of it!

I pray i dont have to do this every 3 weeks or i'll just die!

9 years until retirement. I am blessed to work at a company with great retirement benefits...even if they do hire asshats into senior management! And thanks for the compliment. I'll be 44 in October. I just need to figure out how to get from 53 to 59 when I can start tapping my retirement fund. I figure I am an EXCELLENT waitress and when all is said and done that's a whole lot less stressful and I can make what I need to live doing it if the house is paid off!

SO, on R1 P2 VLCD29 (with 20lb loss on the round) I sort of started a 3 (or 4) day Mother's day vacation (from VLCD). I maintained my dosing, didn't go crazy, but enjoyed my weekend. So, on Monday, I weighed in at EIGHT lbs up. *big sad sigh* Tuesday it was down .4lbs, and then this morning down another 2.6lbs, so I'm up 5lbs still, but back on track. I'm bummed on the lost progress, really really bummed, and I don't have that "slim" feeling that I had before.

On the plus side, I don't feel like I'm going to fall off the wagon again anytime soon. yay. I'd like to stay on P2 for the summer - am I crazy???????

I can definitely try the camomile -- I hadn't heard of that for regulating TOM either.

I had something like this happen once before, also when I was under extreme stress. I did go to the doctor then, and the only thing they offered was to put me on birth control pills... no thanks. I googled "long periods" and "perimenopause" and got a gazillion hits... looks like a common enough problem. Seems most doctors recommend a "wait and see" approach.

I rather expected my periods to get scanty, too -- that is a normal body response to low bodyfat and high activity level... not a never ending flow.

If this period goes on long and doesn't end normally, I will -- indeed-- go see a doctor, even if they blow me off (I have Kaiser.) It could be perimenopause, or stress, or a number of other things. Just hoping it is nothing serious.

It is definitely hormonally driven, though (as opposed to an injury from my IUD) -- I have all the PMS stuff along with it... oh, joy. That is actually good, since it helps rule out some things, but it makes for a miserable monkey.... grrrrr.
