Ironically, that 3lbs isn't as permanent as I'd hoped. I made and ate some delicious pumpkin choc chip bread last night, and it was so good!! I had eaten a great LC dinner before that, eggs, bacon (lots of bacon!!) and think the combo didn't work too well for me!! Sigh. Up a few again today. Oh well, it's water, so I know it'll go again. I just have to not overdo that yummy bread!!

oh wow, this thread is really helpful, specially now that it seems like I have RUINED my P3 by eating pumpkin pudding ring and chocolates; I was really good on my R1, now the winter and the need for comfort food has rendered me helpless, but I'm still willling to try a CD, maybe the chicken one or the GY.
Thanks ladies!

Oh, Julie--that bread sounds awesome. It would be hard for me to stay away, too! You are probably right that it was the combo of the high fat dinner and carbs....the water weight will be off in no time.

ClariD--I've been there, girl! The CDs that work best for me are Apple & Cheese, Greek Yogurt, and this new Shake/Yogurt Day combo I tried the other day. Good luck!

I'm on Day 6 of P3 and have been fine until this morning I am 1.5 out of my window!
I believe it's due to Aunt Flo toying around with a visit. If I'm not down tomorrow morning I will do the EGG or GY CD. I didn't find any Full Fat GY at WalMart the other day. EVERYTHING was fat free...Will look tonight when I get to the store.

Thanks for the TIPS everyone!!

One tip that I'll post here - if you can't find full-fat yogurt, add 2T of HWC per cup of fat-free yogurt. Voila! Full-fat yogurt!

Does it taste as good? The chalky texture of the fat free yogurts kill me!! I always wondered if adding the fat back in would fix it!

You could always make your own full fat greek yogurt! I did it for the first time a few weeks ago (I had made regular yogurt before) and it was SO easy and it's SO delicious and creamy and wodnderful Another added bonus: much cheaper!

Hello! I'm new to HCG. I just finished my first round of drops yesterday. Today and tomorrow are still 500 calorie days. My first day of phase 3 will be Thanksgiving. I have a question about correction days. I love the idea of the chicken... sounds like it would taste good and also would be nice to be able to eat something for lunch and dinner. My question is .. what do you do when you see in the morning that you are up 2 pounds? Do you run out to get chicken then? What if you work? I have to leave the house by 7 am and don't get back till after 6. Do you just make ahead and freeze? I'm just curious about what people do... Can you just eat really on plan that day, go buy the chicken and cook that night and do the chicken day the next day?

Also - what is HWC?

Thanks!

Karen

How was your first round?? As to your questions, I always have meat stocked away in my freezer for those times when I need a correction day. I have an upright freezer in my garage that holds lots of these "in case I need them" items. I mostly am home for meals, I only work part time, so i can be home for lunch and dinner. So I don't cook ahead. I just cook when needed. Now on P2 and for those 500 calorie days I sure do cook ahead. But for a CD when you only "might" need one, I don't suggest that.

HWC= heavy whipping cream

Good luck on P3 on Thanksgiving!!!!

Thanks Dawn!

I did a somewhat short cylcle (23 days). My husband wanted to start in late October, and I wanted to start in January because of all the holidays. He started a week before I did. I decided that I should be supportive and do it at the same time. I know that I have at least 2 more cycles to do, so this one being a shorter one was ok. I lost 18 pounds and my husband lost 25. We've both done atkins and south beach before, so we are familiar with low carb. I would still like to lose about 50 (maybe 60) pounds.

Thanks for asking!

Has anyone on the list waited a day to do the correction day in order to be prepared???

Thanks,

Karen

Like Dawn, I have a freezer stocked with cd type stuff, particularly chicken thighs. I often make a package of chicken thighs or a tri-tip roast on Sundays anyway, so I have food for lunch for the next week, so I often have at least some cooked chicken or steak leftovers on hand to start out my cd if I need it.

Most of the time, cd's don't "sneak up on you." Often, you are already at the top of your window and know that you'll be eating out or drinking or having dessert--doing something that usually bumps you up a couple of pounds and outside your window--instead of eating clean. In those cases, I usually take a package of chicken thighs out of the freezer or get non-frozen ones at the store the night before, and either cook them that night or the next day (if it's a weekend).

Shake days are relatively easy to make your breakfast and lunch on the fly before work. Eggs days are doable during the day if you have access to a microwave at work. Chicken days or eggs days--you can usually get hardboiled eggs at grocery or convenience stores, chicken breasts at fast food places. If you want to do a "split" steak day, you could have a big bunless burger for lunch (also available in many places) then a steak or more hamburger for dinner.

The only time I have waited (and this has bitten me in the butt, for sure!) is if I am on vacation and doing a cd is next to impossible.

And the longer you wait before doing a CD the less effective it is.

That's why Dr. S in Pounds & Inches says THE DAY you go over, do the correction day. Can't stress that strong enough. Makes a difference.

I did an EGG CD Tuesday and I lost 2 pounds! Put me back in my window only .5 away from my LDW. It wasn't bad either!

I'm nervous again though b/c I'm at my Aunts house and her scale is showing me down 2.5 pounds from when I weighed at my house yesterday morning before I left. I'm just going to try my best to stay on track and if her scale gets up to 200 I will do a GY CD while I'm here. I found the full fat GY at HEB store while here.

I had a few cheats yesterday. 1 white chocolate covered pecan, 1 date w/ cranberry goat cheese, some tortilla chips at mexican last night and a margarita. Each margarita had the ingredients listed so I got one that seemed to have the least ingredients and did include any mixers. It had lemon/lime juices, mandarin flavored vodka & 1 100% pure agave tequila. Not planning on having anymore drinks!

The drumsticks coated in butter and parmesan sound great! Butter always makes things taste great... and parmesan, well... it's a type of cheese... and cheese is always yummy!

I wonder, might one be able to do a buffalo wing correction day? Hot sauce (possibly mixed with some melted butter) on a bunch of wings with the skin on...? Hmmm... would a buffalo wing sauce be too much on a correction day, or might it give one an extra boost? If I get right on the border of needing a correction day, I just might try it... I've been craving wings! It would be nice to know if I could turn to something I crave as a correction day. Though I do like ranch with my wings... that might be going to far... or it might be the extra bit of fat my body would need on a correction day... oy...

I wish I knew what it was that makes a correction day work! Why can one eat 2700 calories of chicken and lose? Why might that same person not lose if they included an apple during that day too... yet if they do a steak day with a massive quantity of steak, followed by an apple, they do lose? Why has my body lost after an apple and cheese day, yet on an egg day, my body doesn't lose when I add cheese? I really don't think we understand how food works in our bodies... some like to think it's just calorie counting, some like to think it's fat/protein/carb percentages... but it really is a variety of factors that we may not entirely understand yet...

If someone comes up with a correction day that involves chocolate, please let me know!

Wow, thanks for that helpful tip about adding the HWC. I have been able to finally find the Full Fat Fage at Publix sometimes. Walmart, very seldom. Thanks Shelby!!

I think Paulabob did a hot wing CD w. good success. I agree, the whole "why does it work" thing intrigues, perplexes and delights me. I lose well on the GYCD, but not on the egg CD. Our bodies are mysteries!! I've given up understanding it, and just try to go w. what works for me!!

Shelby-LOL! You're right, when I have full fat Voskos, nothing tastes as good!! I'm so spoiled!!

I do not understand them at all either. I do belong to another hcg forum that has sort of explained it. She loves suggesting the salmon/asparagus day. When you do this CD, you eat nothing all day as in the steak day and at supper time you eat a big piece of salmon and some asparagus. She says it works because of this.....the salmon is a good fatty food and the asparagus is a diuretic. I think it works on the same principles of why the food he chose for P2 works.......the make up of the food and their specific properties.

Now for the chocolate day...count me in on the list of the "have to know" if it works I am down for that day

What is the apple and cheese day that was mentioned in a previous post?

My DH and I have done a couple of egg/steak/beef combo days. We had 3 eggs each for bfast scrambled with a touch of cheese, for lunch 6 eggs with a little mayo and mustard for egg salad, and for dinner one time we had a steak and this last weekend I had a burger w/o the bun bc we were going out to dinner for a birthday. The first one I lost 3.4lbs and the 2nd I lost 2.6 or so. I love eggs, but not enough to eat a dozen in 1 day,...
