A journey of an extended treatment phase...

As I have decided to go into an extended treatment phase (p2), which is not specific to injections alone, I thought I would start a new thread to post my experience.

See Injectors Place if interested in my first round, and/or how I came to this decision.

First, I want to say; I personally would not have decided to do this for my first round, to include the 21 days of stabilization (p3). I believe that anyone who is choosing to do this protocol for the first time should follow the original protocol, if for no other reason, to see if it is for them. Kinda like learning anything... once you have the basics of getting something done, it is easier to customize a system to get it done in a way that works best for you... personally.

My original plan is to stay in this treatment phase for 90 days. I may, or may not, incorporate an interruption at mid-treatment. Will cross that bridge when I get to it.

So it begins...

I also 'thought thru' this decision in the Immunity to Hcg – Fact or Fiction? thread.

So I did end up having bread... whole wheat grain.. but still. I really wanted a grilled cheese... and this is the time to do it... yes? lol That is the 'worst' of my loading day... rest of the day was apples, cheeses and my WM.

I am planning on egg salad tomorrow.. not sure what else... I am really not that hungry right now. It will be interesting to see if taking in bread after 21 days of no flour carb (I do Melba on treatment) will cause 'cravings'.

Will be glad when tomorrow is over tho... I just really don't like to eat!

Go you!!!

I have been toying with this idea as well, being that I have about 75 lbs to lose. I have a terrible track record with sticking with a program (duh, thus the 200+ lb me! ) So I really am drawn to the fact of staying with this until I get pretty darn close to my goal weight.

I am really considering this seriously now that I have read the re-feed thread too. The thought of a mini-load every 3 weeks really makes an extra long P2 more mentally do-able. And even better, avoid (hopefully ) the hated stall.

Soooo...heres to the next however many days of VLC!!

I would love to follow others here thru this thread on their own extended treatment phase... both rxhcg and hhcg and regardless of the way one doses, or the if rouge or strict protocol with foods... I think it would be very interesting to learn from each other.

With this idea of refeeding and how it may be a way for some that may choose to extend their treatment phase (p2)... I wanted to add the link to the refeeding thread here for reference:

Your thoughts on Re-feed days?

Funny how our tastes change...I remember ordering my favorite pizza and a coke and wings during a refeed after a long journey on low carb once...totally didn't taste the same. I was sooo bummed. LOL Wouldn't mind a grilled cheese with some whole milk right about now, though.

Snack was cocoacrack made with pb... lunch was an egg salad sandwich... boy did THAT taste good!!! lol

Dinner is something with high fat ground beef... not sure what yet. I really am not hungry... as good as the egg salad sandwich was, I had to force myself to eat it... not due to already being stuffed... just not hungry.

For the record... I have lowered my dose to .16 (down from .17)... partly due to hoping to get an extra dose or two out of it since I am planning on such a long round... will see if it makes any diff in hunger, or anything else.

So true! I craved hwc in my coffee throughout my entire 3 weeks of P2. It was all I could fixate my mind on. I get to P3 and now, I can't drink it in my coffee anymore

I've switched over to h&h. SO MUCH BETTER NOW!

BTW - 2011...I'm rooting you all the way to goal!!!!

Having done some research on the refeeding, I have actually went ahead and 'scheduled' them into my 90 day tracker... 1st one to be on the 21st day, another at 31 days, three more with 10 days between, and then move on to a once a week. (I have to plan in advance... even if I happen to change day to day! lol)

So this is what I am looking at for now... this will avoid a mid-treatment interruption. The 'refeed' is something that could be part of the lifetime lifestyle change in maintaining....who knows. It is a daily learning process... and in all of this I keep in mind the ultimate goal of HBing. As I find myself getting into balance... things should take care of themselves naturally... not to say that I should ever lose site of what it is taking to get there!

I just enjoyed a toasted PB&J with butter to boot... was very good. Also had another egg sandwich after work. I am done for the day tho... not stuffed.. but definitely full (of starchy carbs at that!!!).

So this morning the half pound I lost yesterday is back this morning. Not any big deal considering all the carbs I ate... and I am still in my LIW window.

So it is back to vlc treatment days today... which I am very ok with!

Also... I took my dose down to .15... again... this is purely a frugal decision. If, however, I start to notice a change in how I feel... or if I find myself hungry... I will adj accordingly.

Anyhow... if this dose works, it puts me at about 150ius... down from appros 160-165ius. Just putting it here for reference!

Thanks! I figured the leaner I get, the more frequent the carb up days would have to be... sooo... here is to hoping! lol

Typical vlcd... melba breakfast, orange morning snack, chicken tenderloins on the GF for lunch... apple for afternoon snack. Lean beef patty is planned for dinner, with mixed veggie salad and 'melba croutons'.

Won't be posting the daily eats (unless there is a huge variation or on carb up days)... we ALL know how boring the vlcd menu is! lol

I feel great today (as I always seem to on hcg)... not hungry and had to force myself to eat my protein lunch. Will see if it stays the same as I have lowered my dose... but I believe the hcg is helping with the HBing, which may explain why I feel so much better while dosing with it. The goal is to get the hormones in balance on their own... it is a process.

I wanted to share my first 'rouge' treatment dinner, cause it was really good!

I browned my lean ground beef and tossed it into my salad of spring lettuces, shredded coleslaw cabbage and topped it with a homemade sweet mustard dressing (soooo good).

The dressing is made with reg yellow mustard, a shot of acv, and some maple butter flavored pancake syrup (sweetened with xylitol).

Yum!
