bumping for new readers......

My journey continues.... getting ready for R6.

I have gained a bit of weight since going full on to menapause. I am getting a handle on it, though. I went through what I think is a big hormone change and possible adrenal exhaustion with a huge added stress load in the last 2 months. I didn't change much and the gain happened pretty fast. I would've rather been on a cruise to gain 8 pounds! LOL. But I am not going to let it get out of hand. I spoke to some people on this board (Shelby, primarily) and got some good advice about the adrenal/thyroid connection. Also, I've just been trying to get some good stress balance going on.

I am due to start my R6 pretty soon, having taken the prescribed as per protocol 6 month break between R5 and R6. It has been good for me even though I was anxious to complete my goals. However, there is no regret now, seeing as how this is all a journey and each piece of it is full of learning, which is valuable. If I don't learn how to keep taking care of myself, even with all the stress I've been encountering, then I won't be able to maintain at the end.

Just an update

Well, I've started my R6. I'm on P2 day 2 at this moment, just finishing it up and going to head to bed soon. Over the holidays, I've also gained some more weight back from some bad food choices, in addition to the 8 pounds quick weight gain from the truly hormonal change gain that happened - so I'm back to lose, lose, lose, and get to my final goal this year.

There's always a little bit of a fear that it won't work *this* time. But I banish those thoughts and keep on plugging!

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Good for you Marie!! I hope this round is just as successful as your previous ones. I'm sure the recent gains will go pretty easily!!

I decided to go back to Lc and try to lose back down to my LDW. I'm not sure if I will try to go below that myself, but I'd like to be in the 150's pretty solidly. I'm at about 160 right now, so not too far to go. I can do P4 and maintain about 5lbs above LDW, but that's not where I want to maintain. I'ts not tragic, just a bit higher than I'd like to be.

I just couldn't bring myself to do another hcg round. My last 2 were not very successful (about 5 lbs loss) and I can do that w/ Lc and eat more the whole time!! I'm more concerned about my metabolism as I did too many low cal rounds back to back. I also found myself gorging in P3 and P4 to make up for that deprived feeling.

Thanks for updating this thread. I was curious how you were doing. I wish you great success in 2012!!

It's nice to see someone who has had to go thru as many rounds (as I expect to have to) ...on here.
Very happy for your continued success!

I'm hungry today. NOT good. I'm drinking tea and water for all I'm worth, and I even broke my usual rule and had 2 apples today instead of one apple and one other allowed fruit because I was in the car all day without anything else to eat. I had lunch and couldn't wait to get home to have dinner! I have a low grade headache and feel somewhat achey. That's what I get for having sugar over Christmas holiday!

OMG it was so good to read your post! I was very concerned about the fact that I might have to do 2 rounds of 40 days each, but now I don't feel that apprehensive anymore. I really want to get rid of this pounds fast (28yo around 30-40 extra pounds) , but you have given me perspective! Thank you very much for this.
Good luck!

I'm down 7.8 after only 4 VLCdays..... load weight plus almost all 'holiday' weight gone. A few more pounds down and then I'll be working on the quickly gained 'hormone' weight from finishing menopause. Sigh. I'll be fortunate to see my last LIW from May before finishing this round at this rate.

Also, I've been having quite a bit of *real* hunger, which is unusual for me. I am thinking I did NOT load well enough. I had a hard time eating much the 2nd day and also I was a little freaked out about gaining more weight. I am hoping it passes quickly. I have a lowgrade headache almost continuously from the hunger and the detoxing. Dang Christmas sugar!

Hunger finally went away yesterday, Day 7 of VLC.... yay! It was a little better on Day 6. I probably didn't load well enough. The lowgrade headache is also gone, it came back for a bit last night but is gone this morning and I didn't wake up feeling nauseated with hunger. That's a positive!

I'm down just .2 short of 10 pounds including load weight after 7 full days on VLC - so all loading and holiday weight is gone. Now I have to work on the hormone weight and get down to where my pants are loose and I'm comfy with my body again

Down a bit more today.

I ended up having to substitute 2% GY for one of my proteins yesterday. I have never done the "milk" substitute for alternate proteins before, only had cottage cheese once or twice in a pinch. I got stuck without almost any food away from home in a 4 hour class having not eaten anything but a hb egg for the whole day. I got spinach leaves and that GY and did ok, it appears. Won't be doing that again if I can help it because I know I really do lose best on the strictest protocol.

But down is down!

I'm down again, or the same as yesterday's down which I didn't claim yesterday cuz my scale is acting weird. I did change the battery on it. So far, after 10 completed VLCdays, I am down 11.8, which includes load weight.

I am going to have to make a concerted effort to drink ALL my water today. Already that is falling by the wayside. At least I'm still trying to eat 2 servings of veggies. I have the melba only occasionally, and usually only have one fruit, sometimes both.

Down the rest of the mysterious gain from 2 days ago and another .2 now. No cabbage the last two days. Not sure if that was it, stress, lack of sleep, not enough water, new supplements, WHO KNOWS. But it's gone now. I will be sticking to this for awhile longer and see where I end up.

This is VLCday 19 for me. Total loss including load weight 14.8. Not my best round for the first weeks. I know, it's perfectly acceptable but it's slow for me. I'm not in VFT yet.

I found a pair of pants that I had before I started. I had the urge to get into them fully clothed and see what they were like on. I am in mostly 12's now, and those were 24's. I may take a picture of that later, when I get to my final goal, whatever that ends up being!

I'm still INCHING down the scale - literally. Very slow weightloss for me this time. It will pay to be EXTRA careful to stabilize in P3 this time!

And I agree, stick close to P3 so you don't have to relose weight!!! Even the 2 pounds you are allowed to vary is painful to relose.

C'Marie, what are your stats now? You started at 270!!!!!!!!! What is your weight now?
You just do not have that much unhealthy fat left on your body!!! You are such an inspiration!!!
DH and I are on VLCD1 (again) after receiving our hcg drops and doing a restart. I have the old spare tire and some other fat I wanna lose on this short round.
Hoping you finish out this round with additional losses.
