P3 Question...

I know that for me P3 is a while away but I plan to be prepared to manage it well. So I was reading the P3 sticky and saw that if you are going back into a P2 round you can do P3 for 2 weeks and go directly back to P2...is that correct? I would love to be able to do that because I need to lose more than 34 pounds. Comments and advice please.

thank you!

Jody

I am not sure about a two week break, but I am finishing up my 21 days on p3 and going into an extended p2 next week.

What is that 2011? You can do 3 weeks of P3 then go into P2 again? That is basically the same thing...just 3 weeks instead of 2. So I can do something like that. I would like increased losses before summer.

How has P3 treated you? Did you continue to lose inches? How was P2? Inquiring minds want to know. LOL

You can definitely do that and treat it as an interruption. Interruptions last from 1-14 days and you start again without loading. Anything over the 14 days and you are supposed to load again. But, if you read about "interruptions" - it is not P3. You are supposed to up your calories to about 800 by increasing proteins, veggies. A P3 break doesn't have any calorie restrictions but should be 21 days. A lot of people do it differently though and just follow P3 while on an interruption. You don't want to go over your 2 pound window either way.

In order to lock in your weight you MUST do 3 weeks of P3. P3 is more important than P2, seriously.

Well... yes and no, three weeks is a full 21 days, which is what Dr. S claims is the time it takes to stabilize at the new weight. Can seven days make a difference? Dunno.

Going back into a p2 w/o doing a p4 is NOT protocol, but it is what I have decided to do... I guess I am now... rogue? My reasoning behind why I am going this route can be found in the "Immunity...fact or fiction?" thread... if interested.

Oh and I did round 2 after doing 3 weeks of P3 and just a few days of P4 and right back in. I loaded very differently the second time. I actually lost instead of gained and this round was MUCH better for me.

P3 has been ok, I have had two 'steak days', and now have one week left of p3. I have not measured (although I keep saying I will..lol) so not sure if I have continued to lose inches, but I have not gained anything. I work from home, so I spend most of my days in 'comfy clothes', which (unfortunately) doesn't let me see/feel a change is size. But I am still in two sizes smaller than I was prior to hcg. However, I do not feel as tho I have lost inches, tightened and/or reshaped as well as some say they do in p3, I pretty much seemed to have stayed the same as my last day of p2. But I seem to be stabilizing well, if even at the higher end of my LIW.

P2 was good. I was never a big eater, so the rations were ok with me, albeit the menu can get boring! lol I will perhaps be a little rouge this next round, in that I may mix some veggies. I will see how changes to original protocol menu affects things, and go day by day.

Can you tell us a bit about your first load compared to your second? (sounds like the 2nd one was better so I'm hoping we can all learn from it)

Thanks!

This I didn't know, I was eating more like P3 not just upping my protein and veggies.

Round 1: Gained 7 loading. That much more to lose right from the start. Was STARVING the first few days and wanted to gnaw my arm off. Lowered my dose of drops and it helped tremendously. Stalled for an entire week with only a .2 loss from one week to the next. Lots of ups and downs. Had TOM and ovulation during which messed me up scale wise. Had to do a CD of eggs which was GROSS. I had significant gains of +.8 and +1.3. Several days of 0. Ended up losing 20 lbs or net 13. No cheats. Went into P3 and could not stabilize at first. Gained 2 lbs in 2 days. Thankfully I'm in bootcamp so I got all sorts of strategies and was able to stabilize after a week but at +2 to +3 LDW. Thereafter, P3 was great.

Round 2: Didn't load with carby stuff, but low carb, no starch no sugar. Lost .2 loading. Dosed correctly, no hunger from day 1. During first week, I ovulated. Timed great so that I didn't have the big gain from it and the first week fab losses took care of it. Lost consistently and regularly. Only gain was from TOM and it was only one day. Lost 14 lbs so far and one more day to go till true P3. Hopefully P3 is a dream like P2 was!
