Y'all are wearing me out today! Between my hhcg threads and my Atkins "home base" that I continue to post on, I'm worn out today! I'm going to have to back-off a bit.

Pat, sorry you are feeling more hungry these past 2 days. Wish I had something helpful to say, but I'm too new at this. As far as sleeping late, it's easy for me. I used to work 12 hour night shifts. Sleeping during the day is actually my thing. I do wake up a few times in the morning. I set two alarms. One to take my thyroid meds and another to take my hhcg, but I go back to bed, roll over and sleep as much as I can. The day is just too long for me if I wake up early. I don't work any more and I get bored with too many awake hours.

All this talk about skin care is making my pocketbooks sphincter tighten up! Maybe when I'm nearer to goal weight I'll be more attentive to my skin, but right now it's just "there." I haven't got much money to spend on "extras." What is that spa forum? Never been there. Peptide Mobilizer? Tell me more, please.

Cindy, Mini said, "The key to P3 is to EAT." If you want to reset at a reasonable amount of calories so you aren't living on puny amounts of food for the rest of your natural life, EAT!

Wish the VCO worked for me. Maybe I'll try it again eventually, but I'm skeerd. Thanks, Jazzlebug; for promising me I'd see a change in my clothes soon. Amen to that! Hope you and DH don't have to go without much longer! Poor guy.

Jolly, glad you got rid of the IUD and are feeling better.

Cindy, you've got some great goals and plans! A 2 hour one-way drive to school is going to be challenging, in and of itself! But you sound determined and jazzed, so God bless you in your pursuits. Good thing you love learning! Nursing will always keep you on your toes. You'll be learning all the way until retirement! Schools were really tough on admissions even back when I applied (back in 1991.) But I got into both schools I applied for and was able to have my pick! Talk about feeling proud and accomplished! It gave me so much confidance in myself to move forward toward my goal.

Good idea to have your child in preschool during that time! Sounds like you've got it all planned out carefully. Bless you!

RESULTS...on the bernice front. 'Cause everyone wanted to know.

Really struggled today...was so hungry. Up to 700 calories already for the day. Haven't been this hungry all round...must be something in the air!

Interesting skin info...people used to mistake me for someone younger, but not since I started hcg. My widdle chin is not double any more, but it is wobbly.

Yay Paula, you inherit the throne today!

Cheryl, you asked why I don't try Atkins with HCG. The simple answer is that I don't lose weight on Atkins. The long answer is that I feel a 1200 calorie limit is what it takes for me to see significant weight loss, and also I need to have at least 80 grams of protein and some fat. Put those together and you get a fairly low fat plan because any more fat or protein would put the calories too high. I feel like you need to be able to lose weight in the first place on Atkins to be able to have success on Atkins with the HCG. THe HCG would simply be a handy appetite suppressant and fat moblizer. Some people may very well qualify for that.

Cindy, the only thing I can suggest is that you stay on the drops while Atkinsing. Also you need to somehow stay calm. If you stress out, you will gain more weight and want to eat more, then you'll stress more and so on. So somehow, just breathe, and take things one day at a time here. You want your problems fixed and you want it now (which is understandable!), but that may not be possible. It may take time to figure it all out.

Truer words were never spoken!

Paula, YEA on being the throne queen today. Gotta find me some of that tea...

Mermaid, that makes sense, the way you are doing your plan. You know your body, so do what'cha gotta do. I just see so many people toying with the idea of doing Atkins while taking hhcg and I haven't yet found someone who has done it and lost (or lived) to tell about it. I'd love to do it that way, if I could.

Snow coming tonight. Anywhere from 1-5" expected in my area. GO AWAY, old man winter! Give up the ghost!

Thanks for highlighting my words to Cindy. I realized that sounded really harsh and I didn't mean it to be, so hopefully my edit will come out more like I meant it.

I too wish I could lose on Atkins. A long time ago I lost 40 pounds eating about 3,000 calories a day on Atkins. I think my body caught on and started burning protein and fat almost as easily as carbs. Bummer.

I didn't think it sounded harsh! Just TRUE and universal.

The first time I did Atkins, it was 1998. I lost an average of 10 lbs a month over 4 months. I drank Vodka and Crystal Light every day, too. I occasionally cheated by scalping pizza slices, etc. This last time I began it in October 2009. I did my best, but I still continued drinking on a daily basis (felt if it worked for me 11 years before, why not now? Right.) I would occasionally cheat with pizza or something but felt for the most part I was very faithful. But I stopped doing it last August and never could get back in the swing of it. Finally this past January "it took." But I just feel that all my shinanagins have made my body resistent to losing on Atkins. I can maintain like nobody's business on LC, but I wanted to quit messing around and get this weight off STAT.

I've wasted too many years and I'm sick of it! I want to feel my best again. I want to live a full and happy life, contented in my skin.

Just popping in quick, to say...

I'm on that spa forum too. And I dermaroll, do peels, etc!! : )

AND...that I had a really nice whoosh overnight.
VLCD26, and down **2.6** lbs today! (15.2 overall). I just started upping my cals to around 600. This is what I ate yesterday:

1 cup acorn squash (breakfast)

100g 0% fage yogurt
blueberries (lunch)

1 cup zoodles (zuchinni noodles) with a little tomato sauce ...
and 2 meatballs (about 100g for both) (dinner)

50 calories worth of smart pop popcorn w/0 cal butter spray (divine snack!)

100g 0% fage
blackberries (snack)

2 sugar free werther's

I was so happy that even with that extra serving of protein, there was such a nice loss overnight. I'm happier eating a little more now, too. Even though I had been having trouble eating meat...seems like meatballs are ok, for some reason. Happy for it!

Have an awesome day, everyone. : )

What an awesome whoosh, GSW! And your menu sounds delish! I eat the popcorn too, but I eat it all at once as an evening snack. Do you find that eating it in two servings helps with the weight loss? You're doing great! I may skip the popcorn tonight to see how the scale is affected. Something's making this harder than it has to be.

The belly bloat that was plaguing me seems to be leaving, and that is excellent (even if it is leaving a ton of loose skin in its wake) ---

Ladies, I seriously cannot believe how much I am eating -- the key for p3, for me, is to up the calories, and up them fast. I am maintaining on 2400 calories or so? Not really counting, but keeping general track... and that number is at least in the right ballpark.

I read on another board that night sweats are fairly common in p3 -- my theory is that it is due to the metabolism resetting. We freeze on p2, and burn on p3. I'm sure hormones play a role, too.

I swear, the processes of p3 are at least as mysterious, if not more so, than the processes of p2 on this protocol. Every day is an adventure.
NICE!! YEAH!! Glad this P3 is going well for you. You're obviously more comfortable this time!! What is MSM? I need to do some skincare. You'd faint if I tell you my current beauty regime (or lack thereof). Dh is 6 years younger so it'd be nice to look younger. Since losing this last 40lbs I look much older and saggier. Gonna' go look at that dermarolling.

I am a huge fan of TCA peels --- love them!!!! I have removed stretch marks, the remainder of a tattoo after removal, and also big scars with tca, not to mention I use them on my face too.

I do find that the salicylic is better for acne though... and I sometimes do a salicylic/glycolic combo. I've never done a jessners, but would like to try one -- and there is also a bha/hydroquinone one I have my eye on trying. I heart my peels!!!

I also dermaroll my skin, which I swear has taken 10 years off my face, especially when alternated with the peels.

Shelby's right about coconut oil -- it does help acne for a lot of people. I've had better luck with castor oil in that regard -- just don't use too much or it is actually drying.

I am, however, EATING about 3 million tons of coconut oil at the moment, so I suppose I will get its benefits internally. I actually swear by the stuff on multiple accounts.

My newest skincare product is MSM cream -- I bought it for loose body skin, but I actually really like it on my face at night. It is inexpensive, and gives me better results than many of the pricier products I've used.

I pretty much abandoned my cosmetic dermatologist after I discovered the dermaroller/peel schedule, though I do want to get some botox done again in the glabella -- that is the one wrinkle I can't get rid of by DIY, because I tense my forehead. All things considered, though... that is a minor expense. Botox there also REALLY helps my headaches... almost eliminates tension headaches and migraines... so totally worth it.

I am going to spend some quality time with my wellbox this weekend, too -- my poor body skin is needing some assistance in shrinking to fit my musculature and body structure now!
I may need a translator!!

I know I am supposed to keep my cals and fat low until the HCG is out of my system, but then what. How many calories did you add and how fast? I am 35 years old and 5'7, I have eaten 1200 calories for YEARS and think that is too low a number for a "lifestyle", I would like to be able to reset, if possible, to a more normal number and I guess I have to start in the next couple days so advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated!! Love ya'll!!
The whole benefit of P3 is eating a LOT of calories and maintaining your weight. It's a tough mental adjustment, but if you keep it LC you should be ok. There's a calculator out there to figure out your BMR and RMR and that will give you a calorie goal. You can do it!! you're amazing!!

I'm at 154.4 today, so working my way back down. I'm still +4lbs from LDW, which is annoying . My own fault for loading so well , but I'm anxious to get some real weight off. I had yummy chicken stuff all day yesterday and know I don't lose as well on chicken. I had chicken for lunch today too, they brought lunch in and I had chicken breast and salad w/ a spritz of rasp. vin. dressing. It was good, but I hope won't slow me down. I hope the scale keeps working it's way down. I'm wondering if I should do a CD to get the scale moving faster? 1lb of just load weight a day won't get me where I want or need to be anytime soon!

Just had dinner, P2chili-taco salad. Yum!!

See ya' tomorrow!

Had a great day, crappy evening, and finally it's ok again. Not fun trying to convince your 7 year old emotional son that God doesn't hate him "not existing" isn't going to make it better (and even though he wasn't born from my womb, I still love him no matter what but it's still my job to discipline when wrong is purposefully done). All this over a time out over him being rude to his brother. Ugh. So, I ordered pizza for the boys (actually, it was already here - good thinking, Steph LOL) and fixed myself a strawberry shake. Wasn't about to cook tonight. If DH were home, he would've cooked, but I probably still would've had a shake... Tired. Going to bed. Hope y'all have a great day. Looking forward to having to catch up with you Chatty Cathy's tomorrow morning. lol

Congrats, GSW, on the whoosh -- and so nice to have another skincare junkie among us!

The thing that has been most astounding to me about this protocol is that I am at such a low weight, and my face doesn't look gaunt! The last time I was even close to this weight, I looked tired, haggard, and frankly too thin from the neck up. This time, there isn't even a hint of that ... some of it is the obsessive skincare, no doubt, but I also think a good deal of it is the hhcg itself -- I lost abnormal fat, not normal fat. Pretty darn cool!!!!!

All this talk of dermarolling is making me want to do a good roll tonight!

Jazzle -- that sounds awful with your son -- it is so sad to see kids hurting emotionally!

Mermaid and Cheryl -- a lot of us stall out on Atkins. I love low carb, and have lost really well on it -- but it doesn't take me as far down the scale as I want to be.... I think it will be my lifestyle maintenance choice, however... though I am going to try a p4 at some point, to see how many healthy carbs I can eat without gaining. Sugar and simple carbs I can forego completely, but I do miss whole grain bread, hummus, tempeh, and other things of that nature. Hoping I can add those at some point and be ok with it.

Julie -- MSM is a sulfur derivative that can be taken internally, or used as a cream. It has all kinds of great benefits, with skin tightening being one of them.

Dermarolling does involve needles -- you essentially rototill your skin with tons of tiny needles, thus causing micro wounding and stimulating collagen production. It isn't terribly painful, particularly if you use a numbing cream. I never want to be without a good dermaroller again! I have been doing it regularly for about 2 years, and sporadically before that.... it just gets better and better the more you do it.

Sorry I havnt posted in days.. I have been having such a hard time this week.. Binged for 4 days now.. This morning I was 10.3 up from Monday.. I cant bare to see the results tomorrow

I think Im going to do an apple day tomorrow on top of an epsom flush tonight.. the Epsom pulls all the liquids from your body into your bowels and thats.. not fun!

Im hoping that most of this weight is just water retention.. I HOPE! I cant believe I undid a whole month's worth of work in just 3 days!!

Been super stressed this week.. I hope it gets better!

Awwwww... big hugs, Awlass! Sorry you are having such a rough time! If I were you, I'd skip the apple day and the flush, and just start doing a clean p2 again. Otherwise, you are just dehydrating yourself needlessly... the water will come off on its own, and so will any other weight gained if you just stick to protocol.

Sorry, Awlass. You must be feeling pretty down about it. I second the objection to a hasty diuresis using an apple day. Those are for stalls only (I think.) Just get back in the saddle and back-track to where you were before.

Mini, I don't think I could do that dermarolling. Sounds too uncomfortable. I'm glad the hhcg has preserved your good looks!

I woke today before 4 am and haven't been able to go back to sleep. I was thinking if I fasted through the morning I might get an accurate weight on the scale around 10 or 11. But, I caved. I want my coffee! I never lose weight after a crappy night's sleep, so I'll weigh tomorrow morning instead. Too bad, because I didn't eat any grain yesterday and really wanted to see if it made any difference. We will have to wait and see!

Hope all of you have an awesome April 1st. We are white, once again in CT. (That's what woke me up. The sound of the sleet pelting against the windows and roof.) We may have seen the worst of this storm. Then again, maybe there will a second act. I have nowhere I need to go, so I'll stay indoors and do the cleaning up later in the day, when I'm sure it's done.

So surprised to see you posting so early Cheryl. Welcome to the breakfast club (or in the case of hHCG protocol - coffee club).

VLCD Day 5 - Yesterday I experienced afternoon hunger and decided to go with it. I had to go to the grocery store before I went home & I was physically hungry (not good when you are shopping). I purchased some low fat mozzarella sticks (60 cal) & ate one when I got to the car. Then ate my usually hb egg when I got home. Still hungry, went to the fridge & ate a 1/2 cold hamburger patty. That satisfied me somewhat until dinner which was a spinach & onion omelet.

This morning I am down another 1.8 for a total of 2.6 from pre-load (7.2 including load). I guess I won't be afraid to listen to my body when it wants a little more. Just got to make sure that 'more' means lean protein.

Have a happy April 1 - don't get fooled!

WTG, Pat! Yeah, I'm not at all thrilled to be up this early. Especially after skipping the popcorn yesterday. Now I have to skip it today too, if I want to see if it affects the scale. Boo hiss.

I heard the plow go by a little while ago. This is all so surreal. Did you get any snow Pat?

Good morning

Weight the exact same again. Going strict for a few days to get the scale moving again. I'm thinking 5 days totally on will get me to goal

I have a busy day so I probably won't be around.

Just popping in to say hi - major turmoil going on at work, so I have to get my nose to the grindstone. They took half of my team and dumped them elsewhere, but I was saved, so I'm still doing basically my same job, just in a different way. Very long, stressful day yesterday waiting to hear if I was going to be put into a different role! Never a worry of losing a job, which was a relief, but it is always nicer to stay with what you know.

My parents leave today, so eating should be back on track.

Hope everyone has a great HCG day!

Yes, we have a couple of inches of slushy snow. I guess there will be no walk today.

I don't normally work on Fridays but I have to go in for a couple hours today. Not looking forward to cleaning the slush off the car.

1 more lb. released, so I'm happy. But, I had a mini-pig-out on low-fat cheese last night, so I don't feel that I deserve it. I think my cals were still under 1,000. This is what I had:

B - coffee w/1 tbs hwc
L - Atkins shake
D - 100g chicken breast, cabbage salad w/ 50g. fat-free cottage cheese and salsa
Later - the cheese, 8oz of low-fat cheddar.

So, I'm just thanking my lucky stars and I'm going to be much more careful today!!

Awlass, sending you hugs and gentle, soothing vibes!! Please don't do anything drastic yet, you will see the scale cooperate with a few clean days, I'm sure!!

eta: I forgot, I had a pickle before dinner

All this over a time out over him being rude to his brother. Ugh. So, I ordered pizza for the boys (actually, it was already here - good thinking, Steph LOL) and fixed myself a strawberry shake. Wasn't about to cook tonight. If DH were home, he would've cooked, but I probably still would've had a shake... Tired. Going to bed. Hope y'all have a great day. Looking forward to having to catch up with you Chatty Cathy's tomorrow morning. lol
The little ones are so precious, but also so emotional! They sure will come at you with some challenges out of nowhere. At age 9, my daughter has sometimes said she wanted to kill herself over not adequately controlling her behavior in school and getting in trouble. That is very jarring to hear out of the blue! Considering that we've had some suicides in the family (that we have never told her about) it makes me really wonder if it's genetic or something. It's hard to get the right balance as a parent of loving and supporting, but also guiding and providing feedback for appropriate behavior.

Well ya learn something new every day! I've never been to a spa and don't get manis and pedis and hair color or any skin stuff, just a haircut once or twice a year (it grows slowly). I do think my neck skin isn't looking so hot, and will probably get worse, so I'm paying attention now! Luckily I have already been applying MSM cream and coconut oil, plus working from the inside out, or I'm sure it would be worse. My DH is much younger than me so I can get a little paranoid, even though he only gives me good vibes that he loves me.

Im hoping that most of this weight is just water retention.. I HOPE! I cant believe I undid a whole month's worth of work in just 3 days!!

Been super stressed this week.. I hope it gets better!
Oh sweetie, it will get better. These things happen and really it's no biggy. I think you'll get those few pounds right back off. One suggestion from a veteran binger/loser is to binge Atkins style. You feel that stress and the need to EAT and you just take a little detour...go for a protein shake first with lotsa cream added, and then make yourself a big bowl of steamed veggies doused with butter, maybe some of your lentil stuff that you like...and before you know it, you're satisfied, but the low-carb way that won't do as much damage, even if a lot of calories. I have used this method many times, and find it much easier to get back on track and have much less guilt and bad feelings.

Sounds like mom nature gave you a little April Fool's for spring! Sounds wonderful to me to be cooped up in a warm house all day just puttering around, looking out at the beautiful snow. I love snow.

Sounds like you're hanging tough! Good for you! Hope you get a little rest soon. (or what passes for it when you're a parent )

goddess - I ate low fat mozzarella yesterday and lost 1.8 today. Maybe there is magic in lf cheese!

I normally steer clear of dairy on hhcg but I am re-thinking this.

Congrats to all those who 'released' and for those having a rough time, hoping there are good days ahead.

My DH eats cheese (mostly full fat) several times a week and he usually loses a pound a day! I am afraid to even try, but it works for him! He calls it the cheese HCG diet... LOL
