Hair Conditioner on HCG...

Good Morning,

Are we allowed to use hair conditioner on this diet? According to what I have read, we can use oil free lotions/moisturizers and powders/makeup but what about hair conditioner? Is there any kind we can use?

I have a lot of hair...it will be rough to get a comb through it if I can't use hair conditioner.

Thanks,

Jody

I use conditioner on my hair!! I use different ones on P2 than I do other times though. I am big on coconut oil and shea butter and love those in my shower products, but have switched to shower products that have none of those for when I am on P2. Some switch, some don't. It just matters how badly you want to follow the rules. Me...I am quite strict in the protocol.

Thanks Dawnyama - Can you suggest a brand to try? I have to admit that the biggest issue for me in starting HCG wasn't the small amount of calories...it was giving up my makeup and favorite hygiene products...LOL. ;0) I will watch for your brand suggestion. Thank you for responding!!!

Oh, heck you can use what you want as long as there are no oils in it. I stay away from products that state right on the front of the bottle Shea butter, almond oil or coconut oil. My hair is thin so I am currently using Suave volumizing shampoo and conditioner. But I have also used Alberto V05--I am cheap, got them for $0.77 while on sale!!! They are great for me, but whatever you use has to work for you!!

I am not beauty conscious---I wear no makeup as I am a stay at home mom most of the time so I don't get into all that stuff. But I do love my lotions. I have found a creamy baby oil by Johnson and Johnson works for my skin as a lotion while on P2. It is not expensive either. I know a lot of people do not switch out their bath and beauty products but I have seen ON ME that it does make a difference. I was wanting to treat my dry summer skin last summer to a nice body wash and used the Oil of Olay that had the moisturizer in it--gained the next day on the scale. The body wash was the only difference from the one day to the next so I blame it on the moisturizer in the body wash. It was enough to convince ME that it does indeed make a difference.

Well I am really committed to going for a full 40 day cycle (and I am committed to doing it without cheating) and being as strict as possible so I really want to use the oil free products. I want this weight off as soon as possible.

I have already purchased oil free facial wash and lotion and I just checked my shampoo and conditioner and my shampoo is fine but the conditioner does have oil in it so I will need to look for something else. I have to admit that I am a girly-girl and my hair and face products are really important to me, so I normally use salon products and department store makeup. I own a business that I run from my home and there are days when I actually do my hair and put on makeup...even if its just a little bit...LOL. I have always been this way...I love to feel pulled together and it helps me to feel good about myself. Of course, I do have my days when I just have a ponytail and no makeup...actually more days than not. But I really love being feminine and I love it when my hubby comes home and I look nice and feel good. It makes me feel so domestic...LOL.

Anyways, I also have business travel next weekend and I am concerned because I can't wear my regular makeup so I am probably going to go out and purchase some bare minerals makeup since I can use that on this protocol...that is correct right? Bare Minerals is ok?

Thanks for any advice - I sure do appreciate it Dawnyama,

Jody

That is great!!! Maybe you can just add the conditioner to the ends of your hair so that it won't sink into your skin/scalp? What oil is it? Maybe you can keep it? We will all behave differently to these types of products, so you may find you can include them in your plan. I love the domestic comment LOL. That is how I am sure DH prefers me, but he knows after 17 years what to expect now. Just a clean up from the breakfast dishes excites him now LOL. What business do you run? I work part time for Starbucks so I do get out and about now and again!! But even then I need to wear a uniform as well as a hat. Don't have to be glamorous for that!!

Although I was strict protocol regarding food, I did not change my hair routine... I use a cleansing conditioner. I did switch to baby oil from coconut butter for skin care...

Good luck on your journey!

Bare Minerals is perfect. I actually switched to using it all the time after I switched to it for my first protocol over 2 years ago. My skin cleared up completely and I receive more compliments on it rather than the Clinique I was paying $$$ for.

ebuck...How funny ...that is what I use...Clinique. LOL And now Bare Mineral's has a special beginner's pack of everything for $29. It's getting less expensive by the day. LOL I definitely see a trip to the ULTA store in my future this weekend.

2011me - thanks for the luck. I appreciate your good thoughts and energy.

Dawnyama - the oil in my conditioner is primrose oil and some sort of seed oil. It's halfway through the ingredients but I would rather lose faster than not so I will probably look for something inexpensive and oil free and do a deep conditioner once a week wearing gloves (LOL) and only on the ends. Yes...I know I am probably being overly cautious but this means a lot to me.

For my business...I am a virtual assistant. You can check out my website at My Virtual Assistant Service if you would like. It is the best thing that I have ever done in my life. I provide administrative consulting and services to my clients. I also provide social media services. It is so much fun to run my business and work with my clients and I get to work from my home office. I am trying to convince my hubby to put in a sliding glass door in my office (it looks out on our fenced in back yard) so that I can let my dogs in and out right from my desk and I would love to have a little deck there so that I can go out and work outside right next to my office. That would be a simple little piece of heaven for me. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Jody

Jody--Bare Minerals is the best makeup EVER! And I did not change my shampoo or conditioner. It has not affected my losses from what i can tell. My hair is very frizzy so i need a heavy conditioner.

That sounds beautiful--and a great idea for a birthday present perhaps? I mean the glass doors to your outside!! I would love storm doors on my front and back doors to the house. That way I can have a better idea on what my kids are up to outside!

Let us know what you decide to do for your hair in P2. We always want to know what works and what doesn't!!

i changed products, had huge issues with dry frizzy hair and itchy skin. went back to my regular products, including skin moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner; had no impact on losses. this is not everyone's preference.

Since this blog is talking about HCG safe hygiene products, I just wanted to make sure that you guys know about the Tiffalina's Products. The brand was developed specifically for people on the HCG Diet. There are 3 different HCG Safe products so far: The Tiffalina's HCG Diet Safe Shampoo, Tiffalina's HCG Diet Safe Conditioner, and Tiffalina's HCG Diet Safe Lotion

This HCG lotion, HCG shampoo, and HCG conditioner contain no fats, oils, juices, or extracts because those ingredients can slow, stall, or stop weight loss on the HCG Diet. Although they may not be the most creamy or luxurious products, we have found that they do allow great weight loss on the HCG Diet and our customers seem to really like them.

You can see more about the products here: HCG Protocol | Personal Care Items.

Here’s to being skinny!

Those meanies don't ship to Canada! Apparently there is no way to get their products in Canada or elsewhere in the world. Unless you happen to live in the United States, you're SOL. That's cruel. That site seriously needs to expand its shipping options. D:

Only speaking for myself here, but I use the exact same products I've always used.

Fat molecules are far too large to enter the body through the epidermis, which of course was designed by nature to keep foreign bodies OUT of us, and even if they could, they have no way to get to the digestive tract, which is entirely closed but for the openings on either end.

Please note that this is ONLY my opinion and there are those who strongly disagree. You have to kind of follow your heart on this one.

I used my regular conditioner all throughout P2 and still had good losses.

In my first 3 rounds I was very, very careful to use only protocol products. My last round I used all my own products and there was absolutely no difference in weight loss.

I LOVE Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner!
