Hi, gang! I just found out a few things. The lamp I was supposed to be getting broke when he was loading it into the car, so no lamp for me. But the good news is I have an appointment tomorrow at 5:20 pm for an eye exam. I'm sure I'll need glasses, so I'll have to pick out a frame I like and hopefully I can leave with the glasses. Seems like I'd have to come back, don't you think? I hope not! I need them NOW!

I can't see crap up close anymore and using the store-magnifying type glasses has only made my vision worse. I wore them a lot yesterday and today my vision is still messed-up. I hope I can have the glasses by the workshop this sunday! Wish me luck. I have no clue if I will be offered contacts. I don't know if I could adjust to them but glasses are a major pain to wear, too. Looks like I'm going to be wearing them around my neck with a strap thingy.

If you only need glasses for up close, do they offer contacts for that? I don't need them for distance at all.

THEY TAKE 7-10 DAYS TO GET THE GLASSES!!! I did not see that coming. Oh, to be so naive and live in this world. How does one get through it all?

Cheryl,

if you don't have good vision coverage(like us), I found a great low cost place for prescription glasses. Check out zennioptical dot com. The prices are very reasonable. I first ordered one pair(think it was under $25 including shipping), and then ordered two more pair. You do need a current prescription which you will be getting today.

I'm the same way! My eyes are bad to see up close. Everything is real blurry! LOL Ohhh to get older!
My granddaughters dad is coming to see her in a bit. I hate these "visits". I cannot stand the creep. He bailed out on my daughter and barely does anything for this baby. I can count on one hand the things he has gotten her! My daughter does great providing for Chloe, but she shouldn't have to do it alone. Makes me really upset.
Thanks for listening! LOL
Its snowing here today! Chloe loves it! I hate winter. I'm afraid of falling (with my back issues, I can't take any risks).
ttys! Hope you're doing well today!

Awesome! Maybe I'll just look them up and go with them. Thank you, my darling Marie! (I have no coverage at all.) I'm going tomorrow evening for the exam. Thanks! You may have just saved me a significant amount of money. How long does it take to get them once you give them the script and choose your frames?

No kidding! With your back problems you should be wrapped up in bubble wrap everytime you go outside in the winter! It's raining here and it's going to change over to snow tonight. Won't get much, though. Time will tell.

That sucks about your granddaughter's father. Or is he just the "sperm donor"? I hope she is pursuing child support legally. With guys like that, they leave you no choice but to get a lawyer. It would be worth the trouble it would take. They can attach his pay or hit him when it comes time to file his taxes. (Hehehe.)

My vision was always perfect until about 8 years ago. I was working in Telemetry and was having trouble reading the strips (tiny dots and lines and grids). I eventually went and got my eyes checked and they gave me a script, but the glasses were lost around the time I left my Hospice job. That was 3 years ago and I've been relying on those glasses you get in drug stores. I truly do think they are part of the problem.

Down 0.8 today! I'm in that stage where whooshes are pretty much history, but all these "point somethings" really add up.

Have a very unique and lovely day! Getting my eyes examined tonight. Be back later.

Back home. I went ahead and just chose the glasses there. In the end, it's probably less trouble. Exam with dilation, frames and lenses= $193. Naturally, the only frames I liked were one of their more expensive ones. Oh, well. I got the cheapest lenses which I guess I shouldn't be proud of, but I am! They try to get you to "upgrade" everything, just like any other store! I got very P.O.'d. Said a few choice words.

Bought 2 new PJ's (wearing one right now.) Tight in the upper arms which isn't good, but hopefully it will stretch. I bought MEDIUMS this time rather than my usual Lg. Guess I'm not quite "there" yet. Soon these sleeves will have a little more room in them.

I also bought some vitamins I was out of for a while. Some Christmas cards, etc. It's always so funny when you're in a store and you hear tweeting over-head. I saw at least two birdies up in the rafters. They must have a field day when the lights go out, with all the bags of bird seed. No need to fly south!

Also stopped on the way to Walmart to fill my propane tank. Now I can grill chicken again! Tastes so much better cooked on the grill.

Hope all is well with all of you! Stay warm.

You did the right thing! I've heard the coatings they put on contain fluoride...not exactly something you want offgassing right into your eyeball.

Plus my DH, who is a sucker for any salesman, always takes those $$$ upgrades and those scratchproof "coatings" scratch far worse than my glasses without coatings.

Enjoy the glasses when they come in!

!!!!

Thanks for telling me I did the right thing! You don't know how seldom those words have been spoken to me in my life!

Down 0.4 today. I'm in a terrible sleeping pattern. I take all my meds at bedtime. For the past 4 nights, I wake at around 2:30 or 3. Can't go back to sleep. Take more sleeping meds and sleep a few more hours. What the heck is going on???

I know our bodies go through cycles but whatever cycle this is, it STINKS.

Chillin' at home today. No need to go out for anything at all. Got a guy coming to look at an Ab Lounge Sport I have for sale (1pm.) That shouldn't take but a few minutes for him to look at it and offer me half of what I'm asking for.

Hopefully it will get better when your round is over. I also have terrible sleep issues...hcg made it worse. It would always get better after a round till last January when nothing seemed to improve it. With JUDDD it was a bit better but not fixed. Hoping the leptin reset thing will help...it's supposed to help regulate the hormones that control melatonin and your hypothalamus. Anyways, still taking my benedryl & melatonin, and hoping not to awaken before 5 am. Guess I've been okay all this week. Just one day really throws you off, though, doesn't it?! Hope you get great sleep this weekend! Makes such a difference.

With the excitement and anticipation of Sunday's equine care workshop, Saturday night will be pitiful for sleeping. We don't meet there until 3pm, but that's how I'm wired. I'll just have to carry on and hope (like you said) it gets better after the New Year (or whenever I decide to end this round.)

I planned to end it (P2) by New Year's Eve. I just wanted to be "done" with dieting and extreme eating plans for the rest of my life. But I'll see where I'm at after Christmas and decide where and when to call it "game." Seeing that it will be my final round, I should get as much mileage out of it as I can. January is a pretty safe month as far as obstacles. (Birthdays, holidays, events of any kind.)

They don't call me "Blabbermouth" for nothing! Maybe if you just read my posts only, you can get through them in less time. I still haven't read your 4 pages, but I will.

I sold the Ab Lounge! He was a stand-up guy and didn't even low-ball me. I felt a little bad and part of me wanted to hand him back $5 just for not dickering. I wish I had. He was funny. He said he left his wallet in the car in case I was going to rob him. I told him that I worry when people come to my home for things like this, too. Especially when they get the phone number and address, find out what the best times are to come (like your work schedule) and then disappear. I told one guy that if anything untoward happened around my home, I was going to point the cops in his direction.

Anyway, he seemed like a real sweetie.

Good evening Cheryl,

it's been a busy day here today as my mom leaves tomorrow. I think I over did it today, and am pretty tired. I'm excited about your orientation on Sunday. KUDDOS on your most recent sale. It will help towards the glasses. Please check out zenni optical. I think you will be glad you did . Talk later!

New glasses--fun! I REALLY need to get in for an eye exam and some new specs, myself. I'm really hard on them--I destroy a pair of glasses every year.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to call it fun, VQ. I much prefer my 20/20 days! But I hope I chose a pair of frames that I'll like a week after I get them, and I hope I can get a couple of years out of them. Maybe I'll need biofocals someday. Nahhhh.

hi cheryl! I'm glad you ordered your glasses. I love mine and I've had them 5 yrs! LOL I wear them mostly to watch tv, but now I need glasses to read with. I thought about those reading glasses at the store, but after you saying you think they may have made your eyes worse, I'm thinking twice.
Well, Chloe's dad came the other day. She did ok this time. But because we all stayed in the living room with them. She cries if we leave. My daughter doesn't want to force the issue of him wanting to take chloe to his house, so no child support. For now. She may do it later.
The other gramma came today to see her. She's a good gramma and actually does more for chloe than her son does. Shes always so mad at him. She said today she was mad at him. She says she raised him to do better.
We talked about xmas and when Tasha was going to take Chloe over. I guess shes gonna take her over there early and be back at 3, then we're going to my MIL's for a few hrs. We have to get home to play with Chloe's toys!
I went to Toys R Us and ordered this jumper for Chloe tonight. $120!!!! She better love this thing!!! LOL
I agree, every little .2 counts! It adds up fast!

Tammy, I'm glad the visit went well. Sounds like Grandmas are usually always up to the task of loving and caring. God bless them all!

You're on maintenance right now, aren't you? How are you doing? You never talk about your weight progress and that makes me think it's on the back-burner right now. Just don't lose ground! You'll be like me and you don't want to be like me in that sense.

I am down another 0.2 after cleaning out the pipes with Milk of Mag yesterday. I needed it more than I realized. I'm just at a set-point and my body doesn't want to let go of the 60's. I will ride it out. It will lose and I will win eventually.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. TTYL

Well, I'm back home and I've got my glasses (Oh, how I hate wearing glasses.) I found out that these may not truly be what I need. If something is just beyond an arms length away, it's still blurry. I have to pull it in closer toward me (aka my laptop on it's table.) I thought I was going to be able to see now! Seems maybe they missed something in the exam. I will see if I can adjust and if not, I'm calling them on Monday.

I went to 4 stores in total and spend money I didn't have to spend. Now the spending spree must end as of TODAY. Whatever else I need and/or want will have to wait until January. And I didn't even buy Christmas gifts! I stopped doing that a few years ago. I don't like the commercial-ness of Christmas anyway. I get something for my Mother but that's it. Everyone else gets a card.

I had been thinking of buying a bunch of small-ish photo albums and scanning a lot of my better old (pre digital) pics to give to people but my list of recipients was up to 10. Then I thought about scanning them and creating CD's to give out, but chances are people won't bother looking at them. Oh, well. I can't afford to do it now. It was a nice idea that will have to wait.

Hope everyone is well today. Have a relaxing, peaceful evening and a lovely Sunday.

Hi, Amber! I lost about 55 lbs on Atkins (see start dates and stuff to the left) but then I regained some. Restarted Atkins after a few months of being completely off and lost 14 lbs. Then for two weeks I lost nothing (March of this year) and I decided to give HCG a try. I was just tired of going round and round and wanted this weight off NOW.

Well, nothing gets it off NOW but I like my hcg pellets. It is extreme calorie reduction but the hcg keeps you (is supposed to, anyway) from being hungry. I know of some people who still struggle with hunger. If that happened to me, I couldn't do this plan.

You have to remember that you are doing the restricted calories only for a certain amount of time, or "phase 2". After that it's trying to maintain within 2 lbs up or down from your Last Dose Weight. Trying not to lose during that "phase 3" is the hardest part!!

Lot's of people do it "rogue" which is anything that is off slightly (or more than slightly) from Simeon's plan. Some mix veggies, some go even farther and eat beef, etc. I like the Omaha Weight Loss plan (google) and that's what I did on R1.

Amazing weight loss so far, Amber! You did it all on Atkins? How long did it take you? I'm very impressed!!!

Going to get ready for the workshop soon. I slept really late today so I didn't have to be twiddling my thumbs for hours, waiting to go. It's a beautiful day and it looks pretty calm, but they are up on a big hill ("CT moutain") and it is bound to be breezy there. TTYL!
