I was coming to post to you and saw your note to me. I am glad you are on the mend. Don't overdo it and make sure you continue to get LOTS of rest until you are 100% again. WTG on starting Atkins today. I returned from the cruise on Saturday evening. We had a wonderful time and am only 2 pounds over what I weighed when I left. I was 147 when I left. I am 149 today. My surgery is Thursday morning. I will be staying overnight and return home Friday morning. I will post just as soon as the drugs allow me, lol. I appreciate the prayers.

What do they put in egg drop soup? Is there some kind of thickener that would be back for LC? I have a quart from the restaurant that I was going to freeze. I don't think it's worth chancing it. (Being this is day one of Atkins.) Quote:
Sorry you caved today but we're all human. If you've never read up on eating a LC diet, you really need to read Good Calories, Bad Calories. Heart disease does not come from eating fat. That is a fallacy. A very dangerous, prevalent believe that has become unshakable in the general population and health care system. It's like a cancer! Carbs and simple sugars are what rot teeth and ruin health, especially heart health. I just spent several hours trying to upload the pics I took at the party. I can't go into frustrating detail but it seems I'm reached my "Peter Principal" level of technological ability. I feel maxed-out. Things that used to be pretty manageable are now next to impossible. And the software is all already installed on the computers. It should be nothing to upload, save and share pics. I can't talk about it. Have I mentioned that I have two mice in the tank now? Caught another one yesterday finally. I've been trying to catch him for a couple of weeks but I finally got him! Now Lupe has a friend and I don't feel so cruel. They are fun to watch. I tried to upload a video from my blackberry the other day, but there's that Peter Principal thing again. It won't happen. I send the video via email and then I save it to my computer, but when I go to load it as an attachment to a post, it says "file type unrecognized." I get that a lot with blackberry crap. The new mouse (who has no name) is tentatively playing on the wheel by himself. That's the only way I can tell them apart! It's funny to see even tiny creatures have different personalities. Like snowflakes and finger prints.

And the prayers are on their way. Don't forget to take some good before and after pics. How exciting! So, how many lbs do they figure will be removed through the tummy tuck? If I could ever afford it, I'd get one of those as well as an upper arm tuck and a neck tuck and a thigh/butt tuck. I guess I'd want a full-body lift! Hopefully things will tighten up over time. I'm not expecting any hefty inheritances or lottery winnings so it will have to just happen on its own. I'm marking down your surgery so I start praying Wednesday night and into the next couple of days. Okay? Angels watching over you. ![]() |

I just make my own egg drop soup - broth, grated ginger, 1 whole egg, 3 whites, maybe chopped celery or shredded cabbage. Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar after it's cooked (I like that hot&sour soup flavor). If it's an Up day, then it's whole eggs and sesame oil too! I do think the Chinese places add cornstarch to thicken - I don't see a reason to thicken as mine is mostly egg! |

Sounds yummo. Thanks for the recipe. I don't measure things, so no details needed. I hate to toss yolks so if I'm not going to eat the entire egg, I'd just use those egg whites in a carton.
I know what you mean about changing your mind. I think I do it much more than you do! I don't see the harm in it if it gets me farther down the line. I might try Juddd again someday but will most likely not "go there" until maintenance. |

. The surgery is about 6.5 hours long. The Dr. says I will probably only see about a 5 pound drop or so. He says it is more volume than pounds. I currently wear a size 8, and he says I will probably be a 4/6 after surgery. I will definitely be taking before and after pictures, and am very willing to share. I suspect the change will be pretty dramatic as the majority of my weight has always been in the middle. He will be going below my c-section scar. In my younger years I was always being asked "when I was due". As for the breast lift, I will probably only be a B cup when all is said and done. I lost more volume with further weight loss. My first appointment with him I was 160. I am now 146-148 and lost additional volume, unfortunately. I was really hoping to be a C cup. For various reasons my dh and I decided against implants. If I end up unhappy with the decision, I can have them put in later, but, that is not in the planning. I will check in as soon as I can to let you know all went well. It brings me great comfort to know that you will be praying for me. Thank you so much. |

Thanks, Jessica. I just made a couple hot dogs with sauerkraut and mustard. Took one bite and I could barely get it swallowed. Waited a minute to give the old taste buds time to adjust and took another bite. It wasn't any better. Normally that meal would have tasted great to me on Atkins. I guess I'm not 100% yet. I didn't eat the rest.
Looks like I'll be eating a lot of bacon and eggs over the next 6 weeks! LOL |

Ok....my son was at a party, got jumped (black eye) and I guess he looks pretty bad too. On his way home his phone fell out of his jacket pocket bc he was running! When he got home he was pretty upset about the whole mess and this guy who jumped him was really big. My son is 5'11" and 150 lbs! my son just went crazy on him bc he was so much bigger than him. I understand being scared and feeling like you have to fight for your life. Thats how he felt.
Thats the story. I feel real sick. my stomach is so bloated!!!

yikes...sorry....that is a terrible feeling.
My daughter and I have been making all our sweets and treats from recipes in the Nutritious and Delicious cookbook that Nicole recommended a while back. We agree that we just don't even want the 'bad' stuff anymore. It's too nice to eat something that has the flavors we want (chocolate, peanut butter, pumpkin, cheesecake etc) but doesn't make us feel like that...the yucked out way. When you're ready for recipes, let me know...there are some awesome ones in that book and I'm happy to share. We made Reece's Peanut Butter Donuts this week. 4 net carbs and 130 calories per donut. They're incredibly decadent tasting...but with none of the down side!

Hey everybody!
Looks like I found the party!! So sorry you’re sick Cheryl. Big cheers for you going forward on Atkins through it all. Hope you don’t get it too Tammy!! Terrible story about your son, hope he’s okay. How’s your cold doing Deb? Hope they don’t get it as bad as you. I felt so bad for you. Your cookbook looks great, I love cookbooks. I just picked up Dana Carpender’ slow cooker book Sunday. Your P2 seems to be going quite well Jess! Good for you!! ![]() I was just wondering about you Marie, I thought the time was getting close. I’ll add my prayers in for you on Thursday!! Hope it all goes the way you want. ![]() Hey Paula ![]() Hi Bud!! I loved the picture of the kids praying for Noah. I really want to be in a community where it’s okay to teach kids to pray! My DH and I are both from California, but we keep thinking about retiring elsewhere. The anti God, pro political correctness is getting real old and pretty scary!

Cheryl, how are you doing today? I gained .6 from my goof up yesterday. I deserve it, so no looking back. It'll be gone in a day or two hopefully.
I'm terrible at remembering names. To the one having surgery.....hope it turns out as well as you want it to. I'm jealous! LOL The donuts sound good! where did you get the cookbook? My son is ok, by the way. He's pretty much staying in the house until he leaves for Basic Jan 3rd. I'm getting nervous already, along with some sadness. Staying on course is going to be a challenge. I'm wondering how long to keep going with this round. I'm still ok with it all. |

Hi, girls! Sorry for being MIA. Feeling better today but dropped my hard plastic coffee carafe to my Hamilton Beach Brewstation. The bottom came apart but it looked like it could be fixed. I searched the house for super glue but came up empty. Got myself ready to leave the house and went to CVS and the local grocery store.
Back home, much poorer but happy to be back among the living, glued the coffee carafe, went to brew a pot then came back in a while to see it leaking badly. Mission aborted! Then I went online to see about a replacement carafe or if I should go all out and buy a new one. I love my coffee maker (dispenses coffee. I never handle the carafe once it's set up to go.) So, long story short, I ordered a replacement carafe and popped for shipping and "expedited shipping." A $13 carafe cost me $24. But it's better than paying well over a hundred for a new one when I love the one I already have! So, I still haven't had a cup of coffee. Going to Dunkin Donuts to buy me some. May get a Box O'Joe and just reheat when necessary. I don't mind old coffee. It may last me until the new carafe comes. No personals this post! Will do better with the next one. Love seeing you all here! (I just had to change the spelling of Carafe 7 times! I need a coffee.) ![]() |

Okay. Back home with my box o'joe and I'm ready to rock and roll.
Dazy, glad you are entering P3 soon! LDW is still appropriate if you lost lbs this short round. It's all the same! Hope you feel like you made some good progress. Tammy, holy smokes! Things sound roudy in teenage land. I'm so glad to be 49! Way too much drama when you are young and stupid but think you know it all. Yum, Deb! Can any of those recipes be found online or on a website for the book? I'd love to look some of those over. They sound heavenly! Hope you're feeling much better today. I feel nearly 100%. Okay. I think I need to comment more on Terri's and Tammy's last post. Then I'll get around to telling you more about my day. |

I postponed Atkins start date until yesterday, so it's not like I'm a die-hard or a saint or anything. I didn't give a hoot what I ate the first two days! I was sooo sick. How's the Slow Cooker book, Terri? I could use some good recipes for a crock pot. I have one somewhere but it's not a LC cookbook at all. And it's more like a Betty Crocker thick pamphlet thingy, iykwim. Who's "bud"? Carrie? I would love to see those pics, too! I agree. It's much better to live in a God-friendly environment. All this political correctness is so over-blown. Everyone is so afraid of being sued. Where do you think you and your DH might move to? I have several of those "Places Rated Atlas's" in my house. You should see the markings and the dog-eared pages and notes in the margins! Oh, how I've loved moving around the country. I still love to dream sometimes. To me, climate and scenery is the top factor. Then cost of living, crime, etc. But I think it's so important to be in a place that you love to live in. |

He's going into bmt in January? How do you think he will assimilate? Is he hard to handle? Sorry for the bump-up on the scale, but as you said, "you earned it"! It'll be gone if you behave yourself from now on. It's worth it!I like to use the calendar and family events as my guide for when to start and end rounds of hcg. And also for when to plan a "refeed" day. If not for my family, I could walk a pretty straight line! ![]() I just have to say that THIS COFFEE IS GOOOOD! Home-brewed will never be able to compare with this. I'm getting spoiled ROTTEN!So I broke the carafe and then tried to fix it. Gave up and went shopping. Bought cold meds and sugar-free cough drops and even if I don't need them much now, I like knowing I have them in the house, for "next time." I bought nice, soft tissues and new plushy toilet paper, a jar of vaseline as well as other things, and even a couple nice scented candles. Then I hit the grocery store and bought some good stuff for Atkins. (I looked at the ingredient list on that Egg nog I enjoyed last week. Holy Moly! No wonder it tasted so good. So much sugar!) I am so well-stocked now that I probably won't need much else to finish Atkins before the new year. I bought 6 frozen cornish game hens (love those,) bags of steamer broccoli and cauliflower, cans of mushrooms and the one and only can of artichoke hearts they had left, etc. Stuff for salads, yada, yada, yada. All I'll need is to buy more eggs and cheese a few times. Cream + some fresh veggies too. They even had butter on sale! I stocked up. And those tubes of sausage that I make soup out of! ![]() So, as you can tell, I'm feeling a lot better. Thanks for being my pals! If you are not feeling so great, take comfort in the fact that it will get better soon! |

I love the cookbook. I really wanted to use my crock pot more, but needed some LC ideas. And I really like Dana Carpender she's funny, down to earth and very informative. Tell me what you'd like to cook and I try to find some recipes for you. Since you like to snack, here's one I'm going to make for Thanksgiving. Maple-Glazed Walnuts 3 cups walnuts 1-1/2 t cinnamon 1 T butter melted 1/4 t salt 2 t vanilla extract 1/3 c sugar-free pancake syrup 1/4 c Splenda Put nuts in crockpot, mix the rest of the ingredients together. Pour over nuts and stir to coat. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring every hour or so. Then uncover, continue cooking and stir every 20 minutes until nuts are almost dry. Stir in 2 more tablespoons Spenda and cook for another 20 minutes. Remove from crock and store. I don't know where we want to move. We've looked at Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and further North in California. Going to check out Oregon next. If we go before we retire we need to stay accessible to Northern California and Nevada because of DHs business. So further north in California is winning so far. Have a great evening!! |

Hello! I haven't had my phone alll day! I don't mind sharing, its temporary.
No, my son is a good kid. And he only has a few close friends. He mostly hangs out with his gf. They've been together for a yr. She was with her friends the other night so he figured he'd hang out with his cousin & they decided to go to a party. I don't know who this kid was who hit my son and he doesn't know him either. His eye is looking much better. Now he has a nasty cold. He was up alot last night. He'll do well in Airborne Ranger school. I'm just nervous about it. I hope I see a lower number on the scale in the morning! Good night! |

All three of those potential destinations sound like a good plan. I've lived in NV and AZ but never CA. I'd love to live in Northern California or Oregon. Maybe in my next life. ![]() Quote:
I am down to 169.6 today so I'm hoping the 70's are behind me now for the very last time. Day 4 of Atkins today. Down 3.6 lbs. Not bad! I usually lose well for the first month or so before I stall. A month and a half is all I planned on doing this plan, anyway. I'm enjoying the cream in my coffee again and the fatty foods. Yesterday I bought a rotisserie chicken from the store and ate mostly just the skin off the whole thing. (Very salty) But I missed the convenience of buying something already cooked like that in the store. I ate a breast last night reheated in the microwave along with some cream cheese and Franks Hot Sauce. ![]() Still have traces of the cold. It has gone back to just being a nose and throat thing. Sometimes my ears feel plugged up but then they pop and all is wonderful again. The cold medicine I bought yesterday is for people with high BP, so it has no decongestant effects. I therefore have no use for it right now. I'm sticking to nasal spray, sugar-free cough drops and tissues. I'm finding the jar of vaseline is very nice! That sucker is going to last me for the rest of my LIFE! But it is nice to use on my chapped nose and lips. Will probably have bacon, eggs, cheese, coffee w/ cream (looks like I'll be needing another Box o' Joe!) and maybe some more chicken meat with either Dazy's sour cream and mayo with seasonings or another cream cheese and Franks. (It's a bit early for cream cheese but it's never bothered me in the past. I don't want to push it though.) Have an awesome day, ladies! I hope you had a good scale morning. Dazy, enjoy P3! |
