Cheryl--that is AMAZING!!! Good for you. I'll be following in your footsteps next week because while I'm not afraid of water or swimming, I AM afraid of flying and I have to fly across the US from Maryland to California for my son's water polo junior olympics! And yes, I truly know how safe flying is and that I have a MUCH better chance of dying in my car but no one ever said fears are rational

Thank you! The platform I dove off of sits about 3 feet above the waterline, so it's like falling for a couple of seconds before you hit the water. When I was standing there on the edge I just stood there for so long and I was so tempted to just give up. But I decided to jump in feet-first a couple of times. After that I started to dive. What a relief to get it done! But now I'll have to keep doing it so the fear doesn't creep back up on me.

I agree about facing down a fear! I want to do a seek and destroy mission for more of them! I'm going to make a list and tackle them one by one.

What day are you flying? I will pray for you so you will have strength! Fears are so irrational! You'll be so happy to be there, watching your son in California! What I don't enjoy about flying is the hassle and the invasion of your privacy. The scariest part of the whole flying experience is the landing. But when we're taking off or in the air, I'm just enjoying the view!

Give us those dates coming and going and we'll all be supporting you in prayer.

That's so funny Cheryl--I don't mind landing--it's taking off that bothers me. Once I'm up there, I'm fine (even with turbulance). Fear is a freaky thing!

Flying out on Thursday and coming back the following Wednesday.

My advice to those of you who have a fear they don't think they can get past? Just stop thinking about it and jump in. Fear is irrational and so thinking it over and trying to talk yourself into doing it is futile. "Just do it!"
Whoo-freakin'-hoo, lady! So proud of you!!!!! And super congrats on the sobriety anniversary as well. (p.s. when you jump or dive in, exhale through your nose until you get back to the surface. )

Thanks Shelby! I'm proud of me, too! I tried over and over to breathe out my nose but each time I didn't. I think it's because I was holding the breath in my mouth (cheeks puffed out) and not down in my lungs where it might actually do me some good. I'm going to focus on that next week!

I took a little impromptu road trip with DH to pick up a car he wanted in Northern Cal. It was fun, but it set me back a bit in P2. I'll get the official number tomorrow when I weigh in, but I know I'm up at least a pound The issue isn't so much a slight weight gain, it's that I *should* be losing weight right now since I'm in P2, and I was *THIS* close to a new decade (.2 away) and I just set myself back several days. Oh well, we had fun, and I'll stay in P2 until the time is right

Sheri,

I ate more dinner than I should have, and I know I'm going to be up tomorrow. I just now landed in the 150's, but come tomorrow, think I will be in the 160's. I am disappointed with myself, but, for ME I tell myself that I am going to be continually dealing with this throughout life. It's all a learning process. I will definitely eat clean tomorrow and probably for the next few days. In the future I will indulge in what I did this evening, but, have better portion control.

It'll be all right! We all take time off sometimes. That does suck that you were so close to the new decade but it won't set you back for long. I just know it!

Marie, I have an idea. Don't weigh until Saturday morning and maybe you won't see the effects of today. Sound good?

I weighed this morning even though I set it in my head not to weigh for a full week. I'm still in the 166 range! Unbelievable! Two straight weeks to the very day of being 166 something. I hate this! Hate it hate it hate it! This set point is as bad as the one I had for so many years of 177. Grrrrr!

You're doing great, Marie

I am 100% in touch with the struggle you're going through, and I know you will overcome it. Just keep yourself honest, right? That's what we all need to do. Stay accountable to OURSELVES (with occasional little kicks in the behind from our LCF friends ).

Cheryl, at least it sounds like you're really stable, so that's good, right? You have lost so much weight, give your body a chance to catch up, my friend. You have done SO WELL and have come SO FAR. You'll get the rest of the way, just give it time.

Lilac, I love your new Avi! What a gorgeous smile! Glad you updated it for us. I like this one so much better. Woohooo! That's the "I'm losing weight and you can't stop me!" smile. Nah nah nah nah nah!

I weighed again today, but to see if it was higher than yesterday's weight after all that swimming and toasting in the sun. I'm down to a new low! 165.2! I can hang with that. Especially if it means I've broken through this terrible stall.

Maybe I can manage to lose a few more lbs by eating this way through August. I will more than likely do another hhcg round after Labor Day (and loading on the day of and the day before, which is my eldest sister's 60th birthday.) By then I'll be back into eating meat again, hopefully.

I wasn't able to become conscious early enough to take Cisco for a walk/swim so she got gypped today. We will hang here at home and try to stay cool.

Have a nice day, ladies! Stay as cool as you can!

Cheryl,

that is a great loss. I am so glad for you.

I am up(stats to the left), but, I expected it. It wasn't worth it, but, live and learn.

I just got home from a 90 minute massage and feel like I could sleep, but, Iwon't.

Off for a cup of coffee and to continue my relaxing.

Have a great day all.

Thanks, Lilac. Yes! A reward! Perhaps fear weighs 0.6 lbs!

I am doing well today. I'll be happy when this heat and humidity wave go away tonight. It's been wicked the past few days. I know it's nothing compared to what you other ladies are going through in your parts of the country. I hope you all get major relief, soon. I worry what would happen if there was a major black-out and no one could use their a/c. I hope that doesn't happen!

I have got some color on my body and although it looks nice, I know it is a sign of sun damage. I will do my best to protect my skin when I'm outside. I'm going to have to find a hat that I can wear. I don't like hats because I get major "hat hair" afterward, and I look goofy in them. But I can't worry about that right now! I must protect my skin and carry some shade with me wherever I go.

Do you all have trouble finding hats that look good on you? Which ones do you think work best for you?

I found a big, black floppy hat at Wallyworld, of all places. Eight bucks. I agree about thinking I look goofy in it but it's cute and necessary. I find that I don't have to worry about hat hair much if I slick my hair back (like to put in a ponytail) first. That way when you take off the hat, you can just go with the ponytail. In my case though, I don't have any hair for a ponytail so I have this slicked back 80's look (see my avi) but I think it works well for me and shows off my newly-skinny face.

I am pale complected and while I never did tan in my 20's, in my 30's I became obsessed with indoor tanning, I would go every day! I was so dark I was darn near nubian and my African American friends would all joke that I was darker than they were. Then I was diagnosed with MS and since heat of any kind can trigger an exacerbation, I had to give up tanning and hot tubs.

I have since re-embraced my paleness. Now I use spray-on SPF 50 before I go out in the sun. Sure, being tan looks great, but it's not great enough to die over, KWIM?

Lilac, I agree that slicking your hair back works for you! You are so pretty. I'm sorry you have MS. How long ago were you diagnosed? I'm glad you had to stop all the tanning. It looks good now but when you're 50 you might look more like 60. It's not worth it!

I have some tanning products that give you a fake tan but they are kind of old. I wonder if they still turn your skin orange! Maybe I'll get wild and apply some so that when we go the lake again this week, I'll look better. (Or more orange.) I can't reach some places on my back, though. Need to find a way to get that area or skip the whole idea.

Marie, how are you doing? Where did you go, my friend? I hope you aren't under the weather. Come out and play!

Lilac, what does the Bruze part mean in your name? I've always wondered.

I had my official one week weigh-in and I have decided that those aren't going to work. If I hadn't caved and weighed last Thursday, I wouldn't have seen the new low weight which is in my ticker. I was 165.6 today so no great news. Slowly, (painfully so) I'm creeping down the scale. I am okay with this because I am enjoying my summer to its fullest and when September rolls around, I'll do my last (hopefully) round of hhcg pellets.

I'm going to take a harder look at the ingredients of the things I'm eating and buying. I have been eating Yoplait yogurts and thought they were healthy for me, but then I read the ingredients label. Too much crap in there for me to be eating it. I will be more choosy from now on.

Five more weeks of my summer eating plan! This is going to be tough to handle.

Have a wonderful Sunday, girls! I'll check back again later.

Hi Cheryl,

I'm here. We've been out shopping for a new recliner for dh today. It will be delivered on Wednesday. Then they wanted to go out to lunch to a mexican place, but, I paced myself. It is not something I would have chosen, but this is life. I did enjoy it. I was a bit bummed yesterday as I was up to 161, but am back down today. My LDW was 163.8, but, I've been trying to lose. My sister is going on hhcg around August 1st, so I will probably go on it again to help support her and get the rest of my weight off.

Cheryl, yep, lots of not so good things in the Yoplait yogurt, high sugar, high carbs. I've been eating some greek yogurt which is a bit better. They have a higher protein count and don't seem as "processed". I've been getting the single serving Athenos for around 96 cents. I probably wouldn't pay much more. I am aware Greek yogurt can be pretty expensive. Are you still using fit day?

Well, I have some laundry calling me! Talk to you later.

Yeah, that's the problem. I only buy those yogurts when they have a good sale. I've never tried greek yogurt but it seems to be consistently more money. I will keep my eyes pealed for a good sale. I'm not worrying about the carbs right now but I hate to eat things that have sugar and corn starch and hydrogenated you-know-whats. That's the problem with eating ready-to-eat, processed food! It's all junk. I'll do some research and come up with a healthier alternative.

Yes, still using ******. I am addicted to it. A healthy addiction! Woohoo! Sorry about the Mexican Restaurant. I love Mexican but there's no way I'm going near one unless it's a planned day off or a reload. Too much damage to be done there.

So did DH get his new recliner? I hope you found a nice one at a good price. Will it be delivered? I love furniture delivery! That's the only rotten thing about buying second-hand things. You must do all the moving yourself.

You're doing great, Marie! Keep that smile on your face. It looks good on you!
