Good afternoon, ladies! Thanks for all the well-wishes for my next round!

Dessa, I use Vox brand pellets. I have heard that there are only two makers of pellets but people put their own lables on them and sell them at many different sites. I've been told there are blue bottles and brown bottles. Vox is the blue bottle variety.

I got all my errands done this morning, so that's why I'm only just now writing and getting caught up on LCF. I had my lab work drawn (had the order since the first week of R1! Held off on having the labs done because of what my cholesterol would have looked like while on Hcg.) Then I stopped at a couple stores and bought some stuff for my loading days.

I'm eating my first thing of the day (12:30 pm) and it's crunchy Cheetos! I'm having a hard time keeping my hand out of the bag so that I can type! It ain't easy being cheesy. I've got O'Douls that I just chilled in the freezer, and I bought some of my favorite Kaiser Rolls to made a couple of really good sandwiches with. (I had a lot of plans for eating out, but money is tight and I have so much stuff left over from my P3 shopping spree.)

I am tempted now to do 3 loading days, simply because it's going to take that long to eat what I bought today. I didn't buy a lot, either. I got 4 cases of diet soda, 2 bottles of n/a wine, a six pack of O'Douls in the bottle, a bag of crunchy cheetos, lays chips and white cheddar popcorn, two Cadbury chocolate bars with almonds, and 4 Kaiser rolls. I will be making tuna salad sandwiches, deli meat and cheese sandwiches and maybe grill a hot dog or two and have those on a Kaiser, too.

I will order pizza at least once. Later today I'll order a medium x-cheese for delivery. Then tomorrow we'll have to see what happens when out with sisters and moving boxes into Robin's new place.

In case y'all are wondering, I love hcg! To be able to lose weight and then eat LC for a few weeks and then have a couple days of *PARTY* before kicking off the next round, what could be better? This beats the Hell out of Atkins!

So, I am going to be enjoying the next few days and then I will be jumping into day one of VLCD, R2! And I will be just as excited about that as I am about today, because it's all a part of the plan (think Dan Fogelberg.)

Dazy, do what you want! That's what's so great about hcg. You can rogue it all the way to goal. If it's working, just keep on workin' it!

Oh, yeah. I re-did my measurements this morning, and the fat calliper thingy (hip area.) I pretty much stayed the same over the 15 days on P3, but my forearm is down 1/4", my waist is down 1/4", my abdomen is down 1/2" and my calves are UP 1/4". Fat percentage is hard to get exactly right because where you measure is so variable. But I'm about 28.6% fat now, down from 30.1 just 15 days ago! So, things really do keep changing somewhat in P3.

Yep! Me too. I eat whatever I feel like, obviously. I just don't gorge because I hate to feel over-fed. I used to love that feeling, but I think hcg has cured me of that.

Hi Cheryl,

you are SO funny. Have a good moving day with your sisters.
I had a loss yesterday, but, still the same today. I had popcorn at 8:15pm so that may have done it. I am still thinking about moving onto P3. I want the variety of food(and fruits!!), but, have worked so hard to get through P2 I am reluctant to give it up.

Quickie, cause I'm tired. I helped sister move some things into her apartment today, as you all know. It was hot and no breeze whatsoever. I was miserable and hot with all the effort and being out in the direct sun so many times. It was not an efficient affair at all. Some trips upstairs, one or more of my sisters had next to nothing in their arms.

The hand truck was locked into my sister Donna's truck bed because, for the first time ever, it decided to not open. We finally got it open when we arrived at her new apartment.

I'm glad it's over! But there is much more for them to do. This is just the beginning. The inside of the apartment is nice. It's very quiet. I really hope they like it there. They signed a 2 year lease.

We stopped for pizza afterward and it was just okay. It didn't hit the spot the way it often does. But it was nice to be able to eat it! Good day to load.

Then, I got a call from my Dr's office. They got my lab results back already and they are concerned about my Cholesterol level and they say that my Thyroid is hyperactive right now. "Are you taking 2 Cytomels per day?" Also my liver function test is elevated. Frankly, I feel great and I'd prefer that nobody try and "fix me" right now.

I used to take a Statin until I read on LCF that it is a bad idea for women to take them. Ineffective and possibly harmful. But now he's going to want me to take it again. (In fact he'll probably think I'm still taking it and want to double the dose.) I will look into natural ways to bring it down. (It's in the 240's.) I am also going to compare what the levels were with the last set that was done. I want to see what the trend is. I hate not seeing the labs for myself.

I didn't weigh today because of being in the midst of my loading days. Tomorrow I'll weigh, or the next day (if I choose to do 3 days this time. I'm considering it.)

That's about all the news right now. I need to kick back and chill right now! Storm's brewing, so that will cool us down a little bit.

Maybe it's mental, maybe it's junk science, but I think for the minimal investment of time, it will be worth it if I can eat almond butter or drink wine or maybe even eat SUGAR without a 2-3 pound gain. It doesn't always work or doesn't always work the first time but it might be worth it if you really like the CO.
Okay, I know I am totally butting in here, but does the laser thing work by activating your root chakra? It seems so weird but I believe in that stuff...

They probably think your thyroid is "hyper" because of a low TSH--which any fool (doctor) should know is where your TSH is SUPPOSED to be if you are on T3 therapy. YOU are in charge Cheryl! Let 'em have it!!!! Btw, I just read on one of the older threads that taking hcg can elevate liver enzymes during or right after the course of treatment because of the amount of fat we are releasing. Something about the liver working extra hard to try and process it all. FWIW anyway...

Thanks, Shelby. I will make sure I bring all this stuff up when they call back. I really want to see what the old labs were, compared to the new labs. I hate them just saying something is high or something is low. I'm a nurse. Show me the dang labs, please! I like to see them with my own eyes.

I will get the actual numbers of the labs they are talking about so I can look into this stuff more closely. The liver enzyme stuff makes perfect sense. And the Dr knows I've been doing Hcg and usually follow a LC plan. He said that I should wait until I was off the Hcg (P2) to get the labs done. He said my cholesterol would be sky-high if I had them drawn in P2, but he said it was the "large, fluffy" kind of cholesterol that would be floating around in my blood, and that it wasn't the harmful type.

How do you know if it's light and fluffy or heavy and sticky? I will see what I can find out the next time they call back. I am not going to just follow new orders for meds, though. I feel great and want to stay this way!

Okay. Just talked to the Dr's office person. Dr actually wants to see me on Friday because of the labs. Guess he wants to see if I'm turning yellow or something. I got the lady to read me the lab values so I can look into things before the appointment.

TSH- > 0.01 (that's what she said, but that sounds odd.)
FT4- 1.4 (in range; 0.8-1.8)
T3 Total- 249 (76-181)
(They did not draw a FT3.)

Cholesterol Total- 241
LDL- 170 (< 130) [I wrote down > 130, but I think I wrote the wrong symbol.]
(Didn't tell me HDL)

Liver
AST- 70 (10-35)
ALT- 157 (6-40)
ALK Phos- 130 (33-115)

So now I'm going to go do a little research.

Cheryl,

I have my labs out, and your cholesterol does seem pretty high. Of course, you need the ranges to know for sure, but, according to my ranges it is high. I've read the same thing you have about statin only.

Cheryl -- I can't comment on the thyroid or liver part, but on the cholesterol I do know that there's a huge difference between *measured* values and the regular way they do it -- which is based on some measurements and a formula. Basically, the formula takes the total cholesterol, "good" (HDL) cholesterol and your triglycerides to calculate an estimated "bad" (LDL) cholesterol -- so people with low triglycerides will have what looks like an elevated bad cholesterol level. (TC = LDL + HDL + Triglycerides/5 -- where TC, HDL, and Triglycerides are measured, LDL is calculated).

I always ask for a measured LDL test now (drives my doctor nuts) -- and even better is the VAP test which measures all components and gives you particle size. As you mentioned earlier, large fluffy cholesterol particles can be high, but they're pretty harmless -- it's the small dense ones that are truly bad for you.

I am going to ask him to order more lab tests. (Better ones.) Though the fact that I'm in the midst of a new hcg round is a problem. I wish I had done the blood work earlier in P3. I was eating a very fatty diet full of dairy at the very end of P3. In fact, the day before the labs I had more than I usually did. I also had taken my first dose of hcg pellets a few hours before the draw, although I was fasting.

I can only share this stuff with you, because I only have one member of my family that I confided in about Hcg, and if I tell her these labs, she's going to go nuts. I will have to just sit on this and see if I can get it worked out by myself.

OH! And since I'll be weighing-in at the Dr's this Friday, I'm definitely on R2P2VLCD1 tomorrow. I want to be as slim as I can be for that occasion. I wasn't supposed to see him for a month, so there goes my big entrance! That will give me 3 days to hopefully get into the 160's. Now THAT would be cool.

I have been doing a lot of thinking since the talk with the Dr's office lady today. I know that all pills we take are metabolized through our livers and I take a bunch of meds. Some prescription, many over-the-counter. So, I'm cutting back on things like Motrin and I'm going to cut out the Mag O7's I've been taking for a colon cleanse.

I do have digestive issues, so I'm going to take fiber daily for a while to see if I can get away from all the other things. I have been taking pills without really giving it much thought, but now I'm going to be more cautious what I put in my body. If I'm not in pain, why take Motrin on a regular basis? My nightime pill dispenser just got a lot roomier!

I'm also going to make sure I get my daily dose of raw ACV. Between that and the fiber capsules and the increase in water consumption, I think I'll get my cholesterol down a bit and give my liver a rest.

Cheryl, just fyi, milk thistle is great for both improving cholesterol AND cleansing the liver. If you're giving up one supplement, why not try another?

I've done milk thistle - I've also read it's really good for the liver.

Good morning Cheryl. Thunder storm alerts for later today!!

Glad to see you're going after good health. Me too! Nobody can fight for us, or think for us like we ourselves. And we need INFORMATION! I am often surprised by people with a health condition who don't research, learn about it, and learn what THEY can do. It's so important to go to the doctor as someone who educates herself and is proactive! I respect that you're doing that.

Have a good day my friend :-)

I've taken it before too. It is also...high fiber too - at least the whole herb itself is. And an herb that's got a lot of research behind it for people trying to bring down their liver numbers.

Good luck with those labs Cheryl!

Thanks, ladies. I'll check into that Milk Thistle. I know, right? I can't seem to get the hell away from pills in one way or another, even when I try!

First day of VLCD for round 2. I'm up 3.6 lbs from my load, but I'm dealing with a load of another kind. I took MOM this morning to rid myself of that problem. Starting clean after that.

Stormy day from the morning onward. Looks like Cisco will lose a lb or two today, as well!

PS: Milk Thistle interacts with meds that are metabolized in the liver and may inhibit their effectiveness. I take at least one of the meds they list, so Milk Thistle is out for me. I'm not surprised, since something as benign as Saint John's Wort can't be taken when taking Lexapro. (So can't take that, either.)

Cheryl - you will have that load weight off in no time.

I decided today I am starting P3. I could go longer, but, I am ready for more variety. Today will be my last hcg dose.

No, I wish. The 170.0 was the lowest I got down to in P3 before I started to level-off near my official last dose weight of 172.8. I was 173.6 pre-load and now I'm 177.2 post load.

Thanks, Cheryl. I'm really looking forward to it. I am going to be careful about introducing new foods carefully so I can more easily trouble shoot the problem if one occurs.

There ya go! That's the way to do it, sister. I also had trouble eating lots of calories in the beginning (actually, all the way through P3.) I increased the calories over the first four or five days. It was hard, after eating so little and being so satisfied!

Don't you worry for a second girl! You've done just exactly what you're supposed to do and are text book perfect

I can't wait to see how well you do next round. You're truly and inspiration and a whole bunch of fun too!

Awww! Thanks so much, Terri. I hope I can rock it this time, because the first round was so long. When I think of how many lbs I lost over how many days, it ain't so impressive! But this time, I got 36 days total and I have to squeeze them for all they're worth.

I was just cleaning an old sewing machine that I have, to give it to my sister for her mother-in-law. I found lots of stuff that I didn't expect to find (mice had made a comfy little home inside of it, when I had it outside on the screened-in porch a few years ago). Anyway, got it all clean and stuff but it needs some kind of tune-up or something, and inside the machine, there is a broken plastic do-hickey that has teeth in it, to drive something to rotate around.

Well, they don't want it now, but I have a clean Sears Kenmore sewing machine in a nice, sturdy cabinet now! I think I'll keep it and see if it can be oiled up or something someday and maybe get some use out of it. Even the little light at the needle worked!

It wasn't a total loss. I know how to take a sewing machine apart now and the wing nuts in the table legs are nice and tight now! It will make a nice end table, if nothing else.

I hope everyone has an excellent night, and I hope that those of you who are praying for rain can get what you need. Why is it raining so much in places that don't need anymore, and no rain in places that are so parched? Things are so completely screwy these days. No balance whatsoever! Lord, have mercy on us, please!
