They would not approve of the hcg. I've just told them I am watching what I am eating, no bad carbs, but, protein/fruit/veg. I am(or was) a huge sweet eater, and they know that so I told them none of that has passed my lips. I can blame the three weeks on a plateau . I tend to be a hermit so that is also one of the reasons I joined TOPS. It ensures me getting out and being a bit social. I typically go to lunch with them afterwards, but, having been making excuses.
I'm a total hermit, too. LCF is the place where I socialize. The rest of the time it's just family. Once in a while I'll be around people I am not so close with and it's nice but a bit uncomfortable. I have problems with social anxiety, very bad. I'm working on it, though. I'm good for short duration events, but nothing long-term.

TOPS sounds like a great thing! I'm glad you like it so much. And what you told them is perfectly fine. Very true, too!

Morning, Dessa! I'm happy the scale went back down today. I feel so in control! You know how those feelings can change on a dime, though. Yep, P3 all the way. No sugar, no starch. It's as easy as that! Congrats on those capris you're wearing today! Did you get my bouncy guys? They're bouncing just for YOU!

Dessa,

I think it is great that you are finding that support group so helpful. I think it is one factor for the key to your success. It just helps having other people that are going through the same experience you are. A friend of mine had the lap band a few years ago. She wanted the sleeve, but, at that time they wouldn't approve it. Wishing you continued success!

Questions???

May I pop in with some questions???
  1. Which of you use the hHG "pellets" vs the injections?
  2. How much does one round of injections cost?
  3. How much weight can someone with 15 pounds to lose expect in a single round?
I am about 15 pounds overweight, am first committing to a month (minimum) of strict induction. Typically this is not enough, but then I tend to make my own rules (so long as I keep my ECC under 20 and remain in ketosis) - this time I will do it mostly "by the book". I've low-carbed for about 17 years.

I've read through this thread (whew, there's a LOT of information) - as well as other threads in this section - should have made a list of who is on injections vs who is on sublingual (?) - what sort of results are enjoyed with each, etc., etc. - now I'm too darn lazy to go back through all the posts.

Also, I've noticed the term "rogue" (means scoundrel? - guess it would be non-conformance to protocol/rules?) - what is this and how does this work?

I've read Trudeau's book - found it interesting but much of it not very do-able - have bought a subscription to his website and hope to ferret out more info about the hHG.

The pellets (at Netrition) cost about $25 for 40 - which I think would take me through 1 full cycle - but are they worth it????????

Sure hope some of you can/are willing to help me!

Thanks!

I love cottage cheese, but have never tried your concoction. I'm going to have to remember it when I hit the right phase for it. Nice work on your stabilizing!

Bonnie, I'll answer these questions but in the future, you should post something like this on the main hcg forum. You'll get multiple people answering and it might also help someone else who is wondering the same things.

Pellets vs Shots. I have only done pellets and I love them. Cost? Depends on where you find them. Just google and shop around for the best deal. Supposedly there are only two manufacturers; blue bottles and brown bottles. They have various companies' labels on them. I love my Vox pellets.

How much will you lose? No one can answer that for you. You could lose it all in one 30 day round, or you may have to go longer or do two rounds.

Yes, Rogue as far as hcg is concerned is anyone who doesn't follow Dr Simeon's strict protocol (read Pounds and Inches; free pdf online.) I never read Treudous stuff, but I understand that he's the one who came up with the idea of "phases."

I recommend googling OWL hcg. Read what they have to offer. Their plan is what I do.

I hope that helps.

I just finished my first challenge of daily cleaning/packing/sorting, yada, yada, yada. I didn't make it the full 2 hours, but I'm pleased with what I got accomplished. I have fatigue (chronic but undiagnosed) so I have to listen to my body. When I start feeling like I'm going to keel over any minute, it's time to end it. I think I'll build more stamina as I do more. I'm so used to just lazing around that I have to start from the bottom and work my way up.

Shelby, thanks so much for posting my lab results to your group. Boy! Everybody here seems to have a group but me! That's okay. I'm happy to just be here with y'all.

Cheryl, great job with the packing. Has being on the hcg helped your fatigue? I also have fatigue(chronic undiagnosed). I consider it undiagnosed because even though I am hypothyroid I really don't think that is the cause of my fatigue. My fatigue is MUCH better since being on the hcg. That is one reason I am not looking forward to it!

Mary - I take the intermountain pellets. I did have hunger the first two weeks, but, so do not. I will probably give Vox a try the next time around.

I forgot to mention that I am making yummy chicken salad for my dh and ds. I make a wonderful chicken salad if I do say so myself. I boil boneless, skinless chicken breast, and I add mayonnaise(the real stuff) chopped celery, red grapes cut in half, and almond slivers. I also season with a bit of salt and pepper. I typically serve it on croissants. I can't have any, but, I will enjoy watching them eat it, lol. I could eat it without the mayonnaise, but, it just wouldn't be the same!

Sounds delightful! I'll have mine on a croissant, please.

No; the hcg hasn't helped the fatigue one bit. Being back off the hcg and being in P3 hasn't helped it, either. It's just always there. I need to build myself up. That's all there is to it. It's partly my fault because I'm such a slouch.

Cheryl -- I LOVE your attitude toward approaching this impending move. I know that it is difficult to face, but I'm sure that He will open new doors for you just as He is for your sister. And you are such a doll to help her out. You're a good person, ya know that? You truly are, and it comes through clearly in your words and actions I'm really glad to have met you!

Morning, girls! I'm holding steady at yesterday's weight, so I'm pleased. Especially so after making some Coconut Bark and eating a small piece of it at bedtime. I normally have a 2 lb gain after eating VCO but maybe now that I've been using a probiotic and ACV everyday, the yeastie beasties are almost dead and there isn't anything to "die off" with the CO?

I am going to eat the rest of that today. It was bitter, though. I will have to change up the recipe. Not sure what made it bitter. Is cocoa powder bitter? I thought dark chocolate was bitter, but this didn't say it was dark cocoa powder. Anyway, I'll have to add something to help fix that in the next batch. It was very nice, and quick!

I used 3 T of VCO, 3 T of cocoa powder, 6 drops of Ez Sweetz, a little coconut flakes, and some tiny pieces of walnut. I looked up recipes and they said equal parts of oil and cocoa, so that's what I did. I'll have to increase the ez sweetz and add some vanilla extract or something.

Rainy again today. Ho-hum. Will be doing my daily cleaning in the kitchen again today. I rented some new cd's from the library yesterday so I have new music to rock-out to while cleaning.

Hope everyone has a lovely day today!

Morning Cheryl,
You're doing such a great job of stabilizing, congratulations!

I'm taking note of your recipes and am looking forward to trying some in a couple weeks.

Hope you have a great day. Heart is always one of my favorites to rock out and clean to.

Good idea! I have their Greatest Hits CD. I'll have to go dig out some of my old ones. I signed out these: (Not all for the purposes of cleaning motivation, but just because I like them)

Josh Groban: Illuminations, Glen Campbell's greatest hits, John Mayer: Continuum, Michael Buble: Crazy (can never remember what code to type in for an accent mark!) and 25 Best Party Hits (from the 70's and 80's). That one will have me bopping around the house dancing! I'll get my exercise while cleaning the house! LOL

OH NO! I just read the small print on the back of the Party Hits CD's. "Performed by Starlight Singers." Won't even bother putting that one in to play. I'll take that one back and get a good one. No sense in having that for 3 weeks!

I am doing well on my daily cleaning challenge. I'm getting things back under control, little by little. I can't do the full 2 hours all at once, but I'll get one hour in and then chip away at things throughout the rest of the day. It's working!

Baking some chicken thighs tonight. Not sure what I'll put on them, but I read a few recipes and it seems pretty basic. I might coat them in a little oil and then season the heck out of them

Cheryl,

today at TOPS one of the ladies was talking about a fish recipe where you put table mustard on the fish w/some cornmeal or bread crumbs so it gives it the crunchy effect. I suppose the same thing could be done with chicken. I am not too much of a fish fan, so I may try this sometime with fish.

I snuck out before they could ask me about going out to lunch .

Milestone Moment! Now my journal thread is so long that it says pages 1-15, then it says "... Last Page." Woohooo!

I tried breading the last batch of thighs I made, but I fried those. (I used almond meal and coconut flour, mayo and seasonings.I think they will come out much better in the oven. I just rinsed and dried them, then sprayed the pan with Pam, to prevent sticking. (I just lost 3/4 of my post! WTH?) Then, seasoned each side with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Then I sprayed the skin sides with more Pam. That helps them get browner (I used to do the same thing with frozen Perogies. TO DIE FOR.)

So, I'll see how they come out. I think I'll like them better this way, and they were WAY less work than all that breading and frying. They weren't worth all the trouble.

Raining, raining, raining. Would have been a nice day for a nap, but I am glad I was productive. My Netrition order came today, as well as my nitrogen cartridges for the whipped cream maker (which hasn't come yet. Maybe tomorrow.) I hope I like that thing but don't go too overboard with HWC! I'll want to put whipped cream on everything now!
