Okay. Got verification that Cisco's shots are up to date until September 8, so no need to rush her to the Vet before I board her in August while I'm camping. Called and reserved her a spot at Camp Canine (we'll both be camping!) I wish I could take her. It's so stupid because the parks up here allow you to bring a dog (on a leash at all times) for picnics and just being there for the day, but not if you are camping. Our two dogs are very well-behaved. What a waste of money and we hate to board our dogs. Thankfully, we both found places to board our dogs that are more humane.
So, everything is all set! I will be able to pick her up the morning after I come back from the beach, without them charging me for another night/day. In September, my camping sister will be flying to Portugal on a big family trip for 3 weeks! Poor dog. All that time in a boarding house. I told her that I could take the dog for half that time, but who knows if I'll be here in September? She has to make definitive plans. I think she said it will cost about a Grand to board her in September. Unbelievable. (But this place is just a persons' house and the animals have free-roam inside and can lay on the furniture, etc.) Still, there is so much guilt involved in leaving your beloved pet for so long. I know my dog will be in good hands on those days, but I still wish she could go with us.

That's true, but newbies need to participate, too. Glad you came out of the shadows!
Guys, there is a wicked storm at my place right now. I've lost power 6 times already, but only long enough to screw up clocks and fans. It's still going on so I am going to make this short. Check back later. |

The cloud cover in this system was 10 miles thick! It was dark as night at 4pm because of it. The system dropped the temperatures by 30 degrees in some towns! 30,000 customers are without power in CT right now. This was WICKED.
It's still rumbling, but it's moving toward RI and away from us. Well, our little heat wave ended with a BANG! It will be much more tolerable temps and humidity levels for the rest of the week. Thank you, LORD! For getting me home from shopping just in the nick of time and for the precious electricity that I am "currently" enjoying. ![]() |

It's all over now and I'm happy to say that I still have electricity, all the trees are still standing and no hail damage. That was very freaky! Normally I love storms, too. But not ones like that!
Might as well update what I ate today. I just don't care about eating much and I don't know how I really feel about that. I had cottage cheese, walnuts, coconut and ez sweetz earlier. A few hours later I ate 2 string cheese sticks. Just a little while ago I forced myself to make some scrambled eggs and nuke some bacon. It was very good, but seemed so greasy! I'm so aware of how much butter and stuff I'm using now, where as in the past on Atkins, I would have just thrown it in the pan and slathered it on the top when they hit the plate. Calorie total so far: 1478. That is if I finish off the bottle of n/a Merlot I opened today (yuck.) I still might have some strawberries and cream later tonight. I love that so much! Well, goodnight everybody. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the night reading. Peace! Last edited by CherylB; 06-09-2011 at 04:50 PM.. |

I tried to make my siggy but it wouldn't let me? I thought it was after 25 days and 25 posts? Am I wrong? I feel the same way when we leave our dogs. I feel so, so guilty. They are my children! |

Thanks, Dazygyrl! I did sleep well and the storm did no damage in my town. But in my sister Donna's town, there are downed trees very close to her house. Sheesh!
Maggie, what happens when you click on Edit Signature? Do you even get that option in your User Control Panel? I want to help but it's hard unless I know more of what you are seeing or not seeing. I would send a message to the Admins, too. They can fix whatever is wrong or explain what's going on. Thanks, about the pics. I just loved that area of the Guadalupe. I'm sorry to hear that the river level is down so much. You must really be having quite a period of drought down there. Seems the world is so off-balance these days. I'm up 0.4 today, but still below my LDW of 172.8. I need to go make myself something to eat, right about now. Have an excellent day and a wonderful weekend! |

Thanks, CJ. Are you affected by those terrible fires out there? I hope not! What an awful thing for people to have to live with. I heard that it was all started by an unattended camp fire. I don't know if they can really know where it originates from, but maybe they can see where the char marks began. With the wind blowing it in one direction, I can see where there would possibly be a starting point visible. But so many times fires can be started by lightning strikes. Sometimes I wonder if they say it's from a camp fire to make people be more careful with theirs. (?)
Done rambling now. I just hope you are safe, and all your family and friends who live out there with you. Actually, I lived in Kingman for a year, back in 1999-2000. It wasn't a thrilling place to live, but I love AZ. |

I just had some yummy ground turkey for lunch. It was a welcome change as I've mainly been eating boneless, skinless, chicken tenderloins. I've also had a bit of ground sirloin and fish, but, mainly the chicken.

I don't have the Edit Signature option. I am going to send a message to the Admins and see what they say. We are negative about 20 inches of rain for the year. It's getting extremely dry. We had a lot of wildfires going in north and central north Texas. I am actually hoping for some tropical depressions so that we can get some good, soaking rain (just no hurricanes.... please no Hurricane Ike 2.0!). I hope you have a great day! Eat a cheesy, bacony omelet for me, please! ![]() |

No Ike's! I hear that. Anything brewing in the Gulf or Atlantic that could come your way? Maybe too early for those kinds of storms. I wouldn't be praying for that, though. Too potentially destructive.
I don't plan to eat a cheesy, bacony omelet today, but the next time I do, I'll think of you. I am up 0.8 lb today. I don't like this maintanence stuff at all! It bites! I hope something good comes of it, as they say it will. I need to go back and read about this phase so I can learn something that will reinforce my determination. Not to rub it in Maggie, but it rained again last night. No storm, just a little rain. Woke up and was surprised to see everything wet. It's 67 degrees outside right now! WTH is going on? I hope you get a reply from the Admins that will help you. It has to be some sort of glitch. You've earned your Siggie! I hope eveyone has a lovely weekend. I will be around, 'cause I got no plans. ![]() |

I have no idea how they can know how a forest fire is started. As I said before, I like thunderstorms, but when they are really, really terrible like you had the other day, or when I am up at our forested property....I'm scared stiff! Take care!

It's so sad to think of those beautiful forests being burned up, but at the same time, I know that is just a part of the cycle that they need in order to be healthy. Sort of like a forest's version of Winter. New seedlings will open (some only open in the heat of a fire) and life will return. I hope your land isn't affected too badly.
I'm the same weight as I was yesterday. I was surprised to see the same number! I ate almost 1700 calories yesterday. The little pie chart on ****** showed that it was roughly half fat, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbs. My face looks puffy, and I can see a big difference in my skins turgidity (sp?) compared to when I was taking the hcg pellets. I looked GREAT back then (Way back then, one week ago.) I might end up being one of those people who stay on a low dose of pellets for ages, for their nifty effects on facial and neck skin. I had thought that I was always going to have tight facial skin! Now I'm skeerd.Lousy weather again today, and the poor neighbors rented one of those bounce houses for a kid party. The kids don't seem to mind the weather! They're having a ball out there. Welp, I think that's all the news here. Will check back later on. Hope you all have a nice Sunday! |

See you're stabalizing still, Cheryl that's great
There is a product from one of those nutrition stores that is supposed to help with elasticity very well. (I can't take it yet b/c of the collagen) when I go back there I"ll find out what it is. Yes, looks like the east coast is headed into a stormy week. It's okay as long as I don't have to drive to work in a storm I'll be happy. Children seem to be oblivious, that's kinda refreshing! Oh the weekend was so fast! Have a happy Sunday to you too Cheryl!

What's that stuff called, Dessa? I want some!
I spent HOURS on the phone with my sister Robin today/tonight. (The one that was looking to move in.) They may have already found an apartment! It kind of "fell into their laps." We all know when that happens, YOU KNOW WHO has His hands in it! They seem very happy with the place. It'll be so drastically different from renting their own house for the past 18 years, but they sound very enthusiastic about it! Thank you, Lord! ![]() ![]() I feel like I want to cry. It's so hard to move! Dessa, you just went through it yourself. But you were feeling that you were moving into a better place. When you feel like you'll be moving "down" a step or two or three, and downsizing and having to go through years upon years of memorabilia, it's so hard! It is mentally and physically draining. I'm not looking forward to it, but... I have decided to dedicate 2 hours a day to cleaning, packing, sorting and disposing/donating, etc. I have designated 1-3 pm as my time to do this, for every single day, starting tomorrow and going until I go camping in mid-August. After that, we'll see what's left to do. I'm thinking that some days I'll be on a roll and not want to stop at the 2 hour mark. Other days I'll be limping across the finish line. But I'm committing to this and you all can hold me to it! So, tomorrow I attack the kitchen. I will focus on the kitchen until it is tip-top, then I will decide where to go next. If you've been wondering where I was tonight, I was on my cell phone, talking until each ear had been worn out several times over and the phone was hot and running out of power! We had a good talk. I love my family. No matter what, we are there for each other. So, I'm going to help them by donating some new boxes, packing tape and bubble wrap. I'll go out tomorrow to Home Depot and buy some. Actually, I may need a truck to bring those boxes home. We shall see. Maybe I can con my sister Donna into taking her hubby's truck one day and meeting Robin and I for breakfast this week, and then we can swing by Home Depot afterward. What a schemer! ![]() |

Thanks, CJ! I love to plan. Sometimes I get on a real roll with planning. I will stick to this because reality is in my face right now. And having Robin and Mike going through this at the same time almost helps me deal with my own responsibilites. We're in it together!
Good morning, ladies! I woke up around 6-ish today. Not sure what to do with all the extra hours I have, but I will find something. The sun is out! Wooohoooo! I hope it sticks around. I've missed it so much! I'm down 0.8 today. Not virgin territory but I like stabilizing this way. I feel in control and I'm enjoying my food. Need to run back to the store today for a few things I ran out of. Should just eat what I have but I love my cottage cheese, walnuts, coconut flakes and ez sweetz so much now! Gunna buy about 3 big containers of cottage cheese this time. Have an excellent Monday. Dessa, it's your first full week back at work and I'm thinking of you! God be with you and give you the energy and stamina you need for a good week. |

I hope the 3 sisters can get together soon. It's good to hear that you are feeling content with your stabilizing.Dessa, have a good full week back at work this week. I am sure it is bittersweet for you. I am down this morning, but, I am not going to claim it. It was time for my weekly 1/2 water pill. I did this last week also, and did not claim it until Tuesday. |

I just googled TOPS and found out what that was. How do you like it? Are the group members nice and supportive like WE are? LOL. I'm not jealous at all.
So they don't know you are doing hcg, I'm guessing (since you said you'll have 3 weeks of no loss soon and they will be wondering.) That will be awkward! What will you tell them? Better come up with something good! |

Hi Cheryl-
it's a good accountability group that is affordable. Of course, they are not as wonderful as you all . The cost to join is $26 dollars per year, and dues of $2.00 a month. It is much cheaper than WW. They would not approve of the hcg. I've just told them I am watching what I am eating, no bad carbs, but, protein/fruit/veg. I am(or was) a huge sweet eater, and they know that so I told them none of that has passed my lips. I can blame the three weeks on a plateau
