When you cook radishes, they get the texture of baby potatoes and the flavor slightly reminiscent of sweet baby celery.. Its not spicy anymore. I personally love them in the popper recipe that I put above.

I'm not a big fan of the cooked radishes, but my daughter liked them and she's a picky eater. So give 'em a whirl! When I boiled them, the water got really colored from the red color coming off them, so I drained the water and started over. I know, I know, I probably got rid of some vitamins, but I wanted to get rid of the spicy flavor. I like a cold raw radish, but I wanted to see how close I could get them to potato by boiling them. They wouldn't crisp up even when I fried them with my nice nonstick pan with my one egg and 3 egg whites. I didn't try broiling them. Thanks for that!

I find that the cooked radishes have a brussel sprout/ or maybe turnip taste to them. We didn't use cooking spray (didn't even cross my mind that it would be allowed)last time, but since we love roasted brussel sprouts, going to have to give that a try with the radishes and pam spray.

3.5 ounces of cooked, Very lean ground beef, 1.5 cups of chopped cabbage, a few tablespoons of ff chicken broth, a few sprinkles of garlic, onion powder and s&p to taste... simmer, toss in a bag of "orzo" shirataki noodles.....OMG you won't believe how filling and visually satisfying this meal is.

Lost and Found, that is a great list of calorie counts for allowed foods you posted, I will print it out
I just have a question about this:Spinach, raw (3.5 oz) – 20 calories Spinach, raw (1 cup) – 7 calories Spinach, frozen (3.5 oz) – 23 calories Spinach, frozen (1 cup) – 41 calories Spinach, cooked (3.5 oz) – 31 calories Spinach, cooked (1 cup) – 48 calories I wonder why the 1 cup of cooked spinach would be like 7 x the raw? I just wilt mine in hot pan, with just a little water If any one knows? |

I am a very monotonous eater, so this plan is working out great for me.
I'm just finishing out my first week on P2. My fav meal is shrimp and asparagus, which I could eat forever, but I took the advice of shelby, and have been mixing up my proteins each day. Lunch has been the P2 chilli, to which I add a boatload of spinach, and the added tomatoes, I count as my fruit. I ordered some Braggs amino acids, so will venture out with some chicken recipes this week, not a huge chicken fan, but if its moist enough I can choke it down. Love reading everyones menus and recipe ideas ![]() |
