I'm starting R1P2 tomorrow morning--hold me!

Here's my load food for yesterday and today--I hope it's okay to post this here! (not meant to make anyone crave) :

bacon
scrambled eggs (whisked w/HWC) and cheddar
marinated pasta salad w/ranch and cherry tomatoes
prime rib with sour cream horseradish sauce
stuffed fillet of sole w/tartar sauce
salmon w/tartar sauce
creamy clam chowder
carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting
chocolate cake w/chocolate frosting
chocolate cheesecake
full fat cottage cheese with evoo, fresh lemon, garlic, fresh parmesan
canned tomatoes, avocado, more bacon
roasted whole chicken (dark meat, of course!)
real mashed potatoes (whipped with HWC, butter and S & P)
stuffing in the bird made with giblets and moistened with giblet broth and butter
lots of wonderful homemade chicken gravy
apple cake w/white frosting

Oh my....now you can see why I'm askeered! I love fat!

I'm afraid I'll be ravenous tomorrow......talk me down!

Thanks for this thread, Dawn, my mentor!

I slept so hard last night and had a 3 hour nap this afternoon..like a bear going into hibernation! It's usually very difficult for me to fall asleep, day or night!

Are we allowed to take an OTC sleep aid?

What is the least amount of water I need to drink daily?

I drink only water or decaf herbal teas.

Has anyone's sleep patterns changed for better or worse after beginning HHCG?

Gotta fix my siggy tomorrow, thanks for your encouragement everyone

For those using the Platinum, are you dosing 10 drops 3 daily? Do you actually count drops or do you use the directions that say to take the amount of drops where the dropper starts to taper? Seems like there aren't 10 drops at that point...

ETA: macadamia nuts and the neighbor's chocolate chip peanut butter cookies...oy.

Yeah--for some reason, I thought it'd be mild--even though it's Extra Spicy.. It made things tolerable, though. Canned tomatoes are nothing to write home about!

You shorted yourself an egg white. Unless you have a typo!! Which has been known to happen to me When you do eggs, it is 1 whole + 3 whites.

dawn!

May I ask how you're preparing your cabbage? I tried a sort of hcg dressing recipe made with ginger, vinegar, Bragg's aminos, garlic, etc. and did not love it. I know you eat simply so I thought I'd ask. I read that others think the cabbage makes them retain water--that'd be all I need. Any trouble with the cabbage? I love it either cooked or raw.

Are you making your own broth or using powder? Thanks!

Also, the box of melba toast I got has these mini melbas in packages of 4. The serving size is 3 so do I eat 3 mini melbas or 1 mini melba?

Thank you, you've been such a big help

At this point I want all the food I can have--I'm a bit hungry

No problem cat!! Happy to help. I agree--get in all the food you can. You are allowed to!!! I do simple so when I cook my cabbage, I take half the bag (I buy the shredded cabbage in the bag at my Kroger on sale for 99 cents on discount--God I love my job!!) and put it in a pan that has water in it. I will add my spices (depending on the day I use different ones) , but my go to spices are onion powder, sea salt, smoked paprika and just a dash of cayenne pepper. When I feel I can spare it, I will add a small spoonful of the "Better than Boullion" chicken broth. But if I really want to watch my calories or sodium for the day, I just do water. Oh, and I may add a touch of liquid smoke or soy sauce. Depending on the day...again I eat it and do well on it. Never stalled out using it thank goodness because it is very filling.

When I want to do soup, I use either canned broth or the boxed one. I try to get the one that is fat free and/or reduced sodium. I just love the French Onion soup in the recipe sticky made by Metqa. Have you seen it yet?? That is the best!!! I totally recommend that one. Try it your first week as that is when you can "do no wrong". You should see your best losses the first week. And when I can no longer do any more plain chicken breast, the egg drop soup is to die for!!! Love that one too.

For the melbas--one toast is 20 calories and the portion is one toast. So whatever will = to 20 calories is your portion.

Thanks so much--do you work at Kroger?

I haven't seen the onion soup ala metqa--I need to look for it!

Your cabbage sounds easy and good! The bags I've seen have grated carrots--the huge bags do not. I don't mind using head cabbage, though. Do you use the Bragg's aminos that taste like soy sauce?

What a great thing to know about broth. I love to make soups so that might be a key for me. Still learning!

I'm confused about the eggs, too. Are they only once in a while or do most people eat them once or twice a week?

I hope this week is golden...

I sure do!! I work at the Starbucks that is owned by and inside of Kroger. So as an employee of Kroger I get their discount Every day I work I peruse the aisles to see what is on manager's discount/sale. That is how I get to afford things in the organic section. Anyway, they have both bags of cabbage--ones with carrots and one without. But I also have used a head of cabbage as well. Just hard to tell without weighing how much you are getting. I have used the Bragg's aminos, but like soy sauce just the same. I don't use much and not every day AND I don't have to watch sodium that much. So if you don't want to you don't have to buy the Braggs. But if you have it already.....As far as eggs go, Dr S says to use them occasionally for one of your protein choices "when you tire of the meat". So it is up to your own interpretation as to how often you want to do that. But I will have eggs on occasion, not all the time. When I was sick and doing P2 I did a lot of chicken broth and I got tired of the chicken in it. So I went with eggs. That was great!!! I also had them just the other day because I ran out of my pre-cooked protein and didn't want to wait for it to cook. Eggs are so easy. But then you have to figure out what to do with the yolks, since you are eating 3 of the whites!!

OH, and let me add that I have learned what NOT to eat in front of my DH. Whenever I am in P2 and eat dinner he is always drooling over my food. He loves the protein (I think crabmeat is his favorite and DD's favorite is the shrimp) I am eating and all of the veggies on the list too. I try to have the French onion soup at lunch when I am not with him and the P2 chili---no one is here when I eat it!!! LOL.

Thanks for the scoop!

Can we eat canned sauerkraut? I was looking through my cupboards and found a can--it has cabbage, salt and vinegar and could be rinsed to lose some of the salt, what do you think?

I mistakenly bought some canned tomatoes that have SUGAR in them! Why can't they leave the food alone!

I know what you mean about family wanting your food and I've been known to hide certain items from DH

WOE: hhcg
I'm going to try having what I'm calling *catkin's Big Salad* (thanks Lainie!) :

What could be easier than putting all your allotted food together in one big bowl with some hhcg approved dressing?

For both lunch and dinner, I had this:

2 packed cups of green leaf lettuce
100g of cooked, diced bnls. chicken breast
1 Fuji apple, unpeeled & diced
1 T. thinly sliced green onion
brown mustard/stevia vinaigrette
few shakes of Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1 melba toast on the side

Tossed it all to coat well and IT WAS SOOOOOOO DELICIOUS!!!!!

I will use this and just change up the protein, fruit, lettuce and dressing choices and then find a couple of soup recipes I like and I think I'll be good to go! Here's hoping nothing in this is off bounds! I realize I shouldn't have added the green onions--the jury's out on that...

Got in 3 quarts of water today and 2 cups of decaf green tea--that's a lot for me, gotta love the vanilla stevia. The salad filled me right up at both meals and I had no hunger at all today.

I've eaten fruit (mostly apples) in savory salads for years on LC, although I usually add cheese, nuts or seeds, and of course oil! So this is just my hhcg version of the LC Big Salad. Hope it all works out.

See you soon!
