HCG Alternative Plans week of 2/7/2011

Hi and WELCOME to everyone!

This is a thread to discuss those of us using HCG and following our own paths, doing our own experiments, or following the original Simeons Protocol as written.

We wanted a place to talk about what we are doing no matter what it is... anyone and everyone is welcome to join in the discussion or just read and maybe take some ideas away...

Our Original Thread:
HCG - Non Simeon's Protocol

Morning my friends!!! Sorry I have not posted much in the last week, I am in sort of a lull as far as my plan goes... I have decided to go with the flow and have started a new plan. Yep, me always experimenting!!!

I am in the last third or so of my weight loss, so I am going to be going much slower, and adding everything back in. I do mean everything. So if I don't post much in this thread, it is not because I am giving up!!! OH NO!!! I am just not following what I was before. I am taking a break from the HHCG for a bit, to see how my hunger responds. THEN, If I find I get that bad hunger back, I am going right back on the drops/pellets.

Everybody who is doing an alternate plan while taking hhcg please keep this thread going!!!.. I am going to read everything, and if someone needs anything specific that I can help with, please ask. I'll check in when I can at work, we are soooooooooo busy!... Good luck and happy losing to everyone!!! So happy for all you ladies who are not afraid to step out and do what works for YOU!!!

Hi Deb and everyone!

I'm starting a new round so I wanted to join you guys in this thread. I know I'm going to need a lot of moral support to get through my first VLCD today!

I took a break from hcg for a while, gained a ton of weight over the holidays, tried to lose it with LC...but that didn't work out so well so I'm trying hcg again. Today I'm at my highest weight since last summer and it has me totally depressed. Gained a ton of weight loading though so I'm hoping for a nice HUGE drop overnight to jump start my losses.

Down officially 12 lbs after 12 VLC days! My body shrunk over the weekend while the loss slowed a bit, which is exactly what I was hoping for and expecting.

I made it through yesterday with people snacking around me and I'm very proud of myself. I'm not sure why my resolve is stronger this time, but it is and I like it!

I'm trying to keep positive knowing that my loss right now is better than the average for a whole short round according to Dr. S. Woohoo!

Just checked and I have 1/2 lb to go before I'm just "overweight" instead of "obese!"

Kateenie --- that is fantastic!!!!!! Great on the inch loss, the scale loss, and a successful day of resisting temptation!!!!!!!!

I am weighing in with a 108.8 this morning -- post workout gain is nearly gone. I was rubbing some MSM cream on my legs last nights, and MAN are they floppy! There is a lot of skin there that used to be full of fat, and now it is just hanging there kinda empty.....a bit like a deflated balloon. Oh dear.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an inch loss in my clothing (no time to measure today) -- but I am going to have to do some guerrilla skin care in the next few weeks to get that to catch up with my thighs.

I am getting really, really ready to move off of p2 --- was feeling really run down yesterday, and hoping for some better energy today.

Hi Paula! Hoping for mail for you today!

And Kateenie -- I forgot to say, "obese" is such an ugly word... can't wait for you to say goodbye to it forever

Hi ladies - I decided to wait until a new week to join your thread so I could keep up. I lowcarbed all of January and lost 5 pounds. So far - since February 2nd I have lost 6 using hhcg. It is hard, but getting easier. I am a bit rougue as I have a tendancy to pick meats and veggies not on "the list". Yesterday I ate pretty much nothing all day just so I could have 3 bites of my chili.

I am trying to be better and get at least the 500 calories in this week though because I do work out and I don't want to be too pooped to do anything. As soon as I finish this first round I want to incorporate the high low cal/carb days the way I have watched so many of you do.

Good Morning - VLCD Day7 for me. Sorry to report no loss this morning but although I was 98% good last night, I did take a couple bites here & there. No alcohol though and definately no mocha torte!

Teri- Your story sounds like mine - I restarted Atkins 72 on Jan 3, lost about 5 lbs. I was waiting for a time period to start hhcg when there wasn't much on the social calendar. I am very pleased with the results so far.

Keteenie - 12lbs in 12 days - that is so great!

Paula - Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon. The weather has been crazy everywhere!

Happy Monday!

That sounds like me! LC didn't do anything for me this time, so thankful for the HHCG. It gives me hope and motivation I didn't have before.

Yikes, babe. I hate that you're going through this, because I can most certainly relate. The protocol I'm doing THIS time gives me 6 oz. of protein for my 2 meals! Like I said, it's based on blood type and I am so hopeful that this increase in my protein servings keeps me from that same feeling you're having now.

I fully believe that you and I are not the only ones who don't have stellar results and struggle with hunger. But here we are trying again! We are, if nothing else, persistent! Go US I don't know about you, but I WANT to be one of those who find that magic dose where there is no hunger.

Meditating on that....ohm..ohm...

Today is VLCD 1 (again!!) and I am going forward with a VERY positive attitude.

Happy New Week everyone.

-Jenny

oh Yes i am Committed to finding what works for me!!
and agreed
i am looking for that Magic Dose that i see ppl talking about..
so this week i am starting out with 5/6 doeses a day with less drops..
ditching the pellets til later..
i was doing a total of 60 drops..
before i switched to pellets..
worked for a few days..then i became Ravenous!!
so i am going to try something under 40 total....
and go from there..

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Hilly and Fembomb-hope you find the dose/diet combo that eliminates your hunger. I remember that from my first round and I was miserable!! Sheer will power (and the scale going down) was all that kept me going those first 2 weeks!! Much happier doing LC and higher protein. I think it was the apple that made me so hungry. Sad to give them up, but the cream in my coffee was a good trade off, for me .

Paula-no mail? Wow, that's a lot of ice!! Hope you get a nice delivery today!! A good, solid break will do you a world of good when you re-start. I'm taking the full 6 weeks (at least) this time. I plan to do another round in April.

Deb-good to hear from you and I know you're working on lifestyle eating, which is so important!! I'm going through a clean P3 in hopes of a real P4!

Teri-good to see you again. So glad it's working well for you!! Get those calories, esp. the protein in!! You don't want to lose muscle!!

Kateenie-WTG!! Nice losing!! So happy for you!!

PiDevil-maintaining and resisiting is a great success!!

fatnomore-hope your plan works well for you!!

Mini-glad your clearing up. I'll bet you're ready to move on. How long have you been on VLC days? Seems like a long time!! Exercise is something I miss, but am taking a break until I stabilize well. I plan to exercise the rest of my life, but don't want to HAVE to to maintain my weight. I will add walking and hiking back in soon, but I really miss weight training. I will have to wait while longer for that I think.

I'm working on stabilizing. Much easier at home, but I want to be able to eat at restaurants again w/o worry!! I'm 0.6 above my window today, so I need to keep it clean and lower calorie until I"m back where I belong . Have a great week!!

Welcome Terrilynn and fatfatnomore!

Fembomb and Hilly--I have the same problem with hunger when I'm in the very low cal range, only now it just comes and goes. It's hard to predict when it will happen, no particular pattern it seems like. Upping the calories brings relief, or just waiting it out. Of my three bottles of HHCG, I think the Mediral is the least effective. Dosing doesn't seem to matter much, since I've tried a lot of different ways of doing it and nothing changes.

I'm STILL spotting. Wonder how long it will go on? Even going off the HCG for a few days and Atkinsing did not help. That's why I'm just going back on the HCG again. Might as well be losing weight while this hormone crap is going on. And yes, I will consider going to the doctor, but I have to only go when necessary since no insurance and I don't really trust doctors anyway.

Had about 1300 calories yesterday with no problems. I'm going for 1,000 today, then less tomorrow. It's so much easier to drop by increments.

Thanks Deb for starting these threads and keeping them going. It's all very interesting!

Hi everyone else!

i Hope i can find a way to Make the mediral work..
but have my doubts..
this type of hunger is Interferring with the quality of my life..
the way i coped with it the past week was to raise my calories..
i might have to leave this brand althogether ..
but i wanted to give it a fair shake
i think i got crazy and deviated with too many drops...
i went back and reviewed other forums
where this issue is discussed..
seems only few drops can make a big diff one way or the other..
i do think 60 was too high..
eventuually it made me Worse!
if thats possible
i am at 30 drops again..
But..
when i did 30 drops of mediral Before..
i did them 3 times a day..
this time i am doing 5 x 6 times a day..
i dont have high hopes..
the pellets worked better..
But i have 3 bottles of mediral..
be nice to make use of them ...
its a pain in the neck...
but i like being able to find out the information
for myself so i know for sure ..
stubborn..thats pretty much why

i figure since there is no immunity with HHCG..
i can just keep messing around with it
until i get all the info i want...
and at least i am either losing weight or maintaining weight..
it isnt making me gain..
so its not hurting me to experiment

if you keep spotting/showing blood..
you might have a big tumor or many small tumors..
if you let it go ..
it can get worse...
there is always some place you can go for medical care..
especially female related..
i dont know your age..
but it could be menopause..
the age for menopause is so vast anyways..
my first mother in law went thru it in her sixties
and so did my mum..
and her mother..
my stepmom went thru it in her forties..
my present mother in law is fifty and still accepting dates from TOM..

i ate about 1300 cals for all of the past week..
it was the Only way i could get thru the starvation..
Still felt Very Hungry after each meal..
the pellets got me back to 1000 cals..
and today i am Attempting 800 again..
on atkins i eat 1600-1800 for dieting...
in fact..
i never really go lower than 1500 average in a week
on Any diet ..even when i did low fat as a kid...
500-800 cals is VERY Low cal for what i am used to on a diet

Febomb--I'm thinking that if you can lose weight at all in the 1500 to 1800 calorie range on Atkins that your metabolism must be fairly high, which is great! Maybe you should try sticking more in that 1300 calorie range for a while? I might be overstepping here, but I think that the homeopathic HCG works quite differently than the RX HCG, and we can pretty much get away with whatever we want to do calorie or carb-wise and not mess ourselves up. It's just a matter of how quickly you want to lose. Those of us who experience ravenous hunger even on HHCG might be better off with higher calories and slower loss. Just what I'm thinkin' anyway--what the heck do I really know?

I think my spotting is related to peri-menopause, which I have been in for about 8 years now. There are ever-wondrous surprises around every corner with this process! I am also very sensitive to daylight levels, and we have had extremely gray skies all winter long since about September. Sometimes during winters I skip periods due to low sunlight. So it's not all about the HHCG. I don't have any pain, which I think would happen if there were a more serious problem, like a tumor. I'll wait about a week or so, and then make an appointment to get checked out if I'm still having problems.

Thanks for chatting with me!

Hi, I am on day 2 of my 1st round of VLCD.. and I have lost another 2 lb'.. that is 4 lb's in 2 days.. I am very impressed!! I did doubt this HCG stuff but I had nothing to lose but weight and decided I would try anything and I am so glad that I did.. I never lose like this.. And I was doing 500 - 800 calories Low carb before I started this and I was moving so slow. WOW!!
I also would like to know if anyone has pushed past the 42 days on VLCD, why do we have to stop there.. and has anyone shortened the 2 week set point phase.?? Thanks Sandi

The 40 days was with the Rx injections because of developing immunity, so I'm not really sure how that translates to HHCG. I think most people are just really sick of the diet by that point and ready to move on to P3.

I'm really going to make an effort to do the 40 days this time, since I'm tweaking enough to not feel deprived this go-around.

This is why I LOVE this thread - the help here is invaluable. And NO judgement! What a relief.

You guys are the best!

Fembomb, I hate that you're miserable. But I must say your dedication is admirable.

I am seriously detoxing from my loading days. YUCK. I keep telling myself that tomorrow is another day (said with a Scarlett O'Hara wave of my hand) and will get through this!

Deb-promise you'll check in at the start of every week and let us know how you are doing-getting down to the last 1/3 of your weight loss will be a struggle for all of us. Good luck.
I am probably not going to post real often, either, (first round I was really strict and did not lose any weight, but did lose 20 inches in size) This time, 2 weeks into round 2 and higher cals 700-800, I have lost 5 pounds and no inches. Go figure.
5 pounds doesn't sound like much, but I am fighting a setpoint I have been for decades and my body always tries to stay/get back to it.
Plan-lower dose of hcg-twice a day, will stay on this 3 weeks and then a week off drops eating lowcarb and cycle back the next month.
Here is a thought, after reading Jon Gabriels book, I am convinced that the reason I couldn't lose the first round was the huge amount of stress I was under at the time, I am working on that, listening to his cd along this time, with the drops-will check in at least once a week, as this is going to be a long, long haul. Good luck everyone, I can't comment on individual post, as my computer time is very limited, but I am inspired by all of you.

Hello everyone,

I posted on the wrong one. So this is the one that I wanted. I have been doing hcg injections for 3 weeks with 800 cal and lost 15lbs so far. I wanted to know what is carb cycling and are you doing this with hcg. Also I am probably going to go to drops after my 8 weeks the shots are expensive but do the drops work the same?

to those I have not met yet. Glad that you are here joining us.

Just a quick note from me. Both DH and I have strep throat and are a bit miserable. Have stayed steady on the scale, but I am losing inches for sure. My drs nurse said I was disappearing! I might try juddd if my low carbing doesn't work. But still hanging in there after a horrible week of TOM last week.

I have great news, my brother and his beautiful wife had their first baby. It is a girl and her name is Hattie Adele. I have seen pics and she is the cutest, chunky little baby. I am in

Thanks ya'll for all the support and putting up with my whining. Ya'll are great!

New Body

Just wanted to say "Happy Monday" to everyone and to share this pic that hubby took last Saturday.

I think that it should be called Body by Biz.
I should also say that Fusion drops seemed to work great for me.

Wow, busy day here today... Mary, you look incredible!!!!!!!! So stylish, too

In answer to the pushing beyone 40 days question, I am attempting to do it. The original plan is for the injections, and apparently you can get immunity to the hormone if you do it too long... but that doesn't seem to be a problem with hhcg.

I must say, though -- this is VLCD 40 for me, and I am beginning to feel the wear and tear. I'm tired, my muscles are fatiguing more easily, and I am getting a lot more hungry.

I am seriously considering ending this round, and going back to p2 later if those last couple of pounds are really bugging me. I think this may be stressing my body in a way I don't want to be doing -- plus, I have a terribly tough semester to handle, and I don't want to be dragging through it. I think I will stick it out till Wednesday, and see how I feel.

I wouldn't do this except that I am flippin 3.8 lbs from goal, and I don't want to stop that close to the finishing line!
