Thanks for being so welcoming, everyone! I am not too hungry today, but will try to listen to my body, and eat more protein if I am hungry later.

TOM is throwing things off a bit, I think... I tend to get some tummy issues along with it, bloating, the whole nine yards.

Tomorrow begins the official p3 for me, and I am pondering what to do first -- more protein, and maybe some greek yogurt. I miss that.

Did most of you ease into more food? I think that is my plan -- up it by a couple hundred calories a day for a while, and see how things go --- I know when I did low carb before, I could eat quite a lot and maintain, but I don't want to throw my system into shock. I am going to ease into the fat slowly -- my gallbladder has given me trouble in the past (due to heavy antibiotic use which damaged it) -- so will definitely be easing into the fats slowly.

I do miss them, though, and want to reintroduce the good fats as soon as I can tolerate them.

Gibby -- great job with maintaining! I wouldn't stress it if you lose a little bit -- seems a lot of people do -- I think it is mainly that we shouldn't try to keep losing a lot in this phase.

I am just guessing and going by the experiences of others, though... so take that with a grain of salt....

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Emel-thanks! I do enjoy my dairy, and so far, so good. Maybe it's portion control w/ cheese that gets me? I'm dabbling in it now, and so far, so good!! I didn't have plain black tights to wear w/ my dress this morning afterall . I did have stripey ones, so I wore them and a black skirt and pretty purple top. Got several compliments. It's so nice when people encourage you after losing weight!!

Hey mini-glad you're not hungry yet. I wasn't very hungry my first P3 days even. I took it easy those first few days, then got a bit carried away, reigned it back in, and am now working my calories up a bit. It's going better than I expected. I almost believe this whole "resetting" stuff!

Gibby-yeah!! below LDW is wonderful!! Enjoy it!! KUTGW!! Whatever you're doing is agreeing w/ ya!

Peggy-I always think of you when I push the calorie envelope. I think, well, "Peggy suggested pushing up the cals" . It's so great that you can lead by example. Eating well and maintaining!! YEAH!!

Today I really ventured out more. I did Mexican . I enjoyed the bean dip, a few tortilla chips, machaca and eggs (shredded beef) and a side salad. I'm stuffed!! I tried to figure out the calories so far today, and w/o dinner, I'm guessing I'm already at abut 1700. But that's ok!! I'm pretty full, and plan a lighter dinner. Even if I get above 2000 cals, and even if I gain a bit tomorrow, I feel really good about all of this P3!!

I have NEVER been able to eat this high carb level (100+ g a day) and NOT gain weight. I am very hopeful that I can maintain at a more balanced menu approach than the strict LC I've been living the past 8 years!! I never thought it would work for me!! Too soon to say it's a real win, but so far, so good!! :

I got changed to run to the store. Skinny jeans (that actually fit!!) and a T-shirt. Dh looked at me and said, "it's simply amazing!! You look amazing!!" . Awww, that made my Valentine's Day . He's always supportive and encouraging, but unsolicited praise is always the best .

Love your picture, Peggy! It's so nice to put a face with who we are "talking" to! Thanks for posting it!

Monkey - yes, gradually add for a couple of days. About 200 calories - I started (and a lot of people start) by having a couple of eggs fried in a little butter and some kind of breakfast meat for breakfast and increasing their P2 protein at lunch and dinner. Don't be afraid - the first week is an up and down journey, I've been told.

Julie - I love Mexican and can't wait to have some. I do have a question - can we have tortilla chips on P3? or was that a little splurge.

Well, I hope I am hungrier tomorrow than I was today, or this extra eating will be more of a chore than anything. I had to pretty much force down the 500 cals today -- guessing that is from TOM and the tummy stuff that tends to come along with it.

At least this is better than being starving, which is what I expected from stopping the drops.

I am feeling a bit down today -- I think I feel like I am "giving up" by transitioning out of p2... and logically, I know that is totally riduculous. I need to do this, and I am planning to do another round in just a couple/three weeks.

I don't think we can - but they were yummy!! I shouldn't have had the beans/bean dip either. I was feeling good, I'm enjoying experimenting a bit. I may pay for it tomorrow, but at least I'm experimenting.

My best guess on ****** says it's only 2000 cals today, but I felt highly indulgent and am really full. I had cottage cheese w/ strawberries for "dinner" while dh took me to the movies. I had a nice coke zero and some popcorn!! I haven't had popcorn in AGES!! It was good . I'm sure btw. the salt and not enough water the scale will be up tomorrow, including more starch from the corn and chips. But I will survive. If I'm out of my window I will be extra careful tomorrow. It was worth it. A nice date w. dh and even eating popcorn at the movies? I felt like a "normal" person !! A "normal" person wearing skinny jeans !! And The King's Speech was excellent!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Mini-I wasn't very hungry the first few days either. So ironic since I was so excited to eat more food!! I too had to try to eat more, particularly tried for protein, to get my cals up a bit. I worry more about not eating enough while stabilizing than eating too much. Hopefully you'll be hungrier tomorrow and the next few days. It's bittersweet.

Well -- I am feeling better, after an epic visit from Bernice I suspect I will have more of an appetitie tomorrow, and that is great. I am not all that attached to eating anything in particular, so I don't mind doing this slowly and methodically.

I am just relieved that I can shuck off some of the lethargy and weakness that was starting to plague me...

And what a sweet comment from your DH, Julie!!! You really do look amazing, and like a completely different person

Enjoyed the wedding weekend a little too much. I have not weighed myself yet- I'm waiting till the am, but am prepared to do a high protein day. If I'm within the 2# range I'll be shocked...

I lost 1# my first day of P3 and I ate close to 2000 cals! I need to get back on the wagon- it works.

Viola--

Glad you enjoyed the wedding, and I wouldn't really stress the food... a couple of correction days, and you'll be back on track! Here's hoping you don't need them at all.

I am so excited to be able to eat something real tomorrow... didn't think I would be, but I am.

I'm up a bit this morning , but knew it and deserve it!! Not stressing. I know it's not fat, just water. TOM's on the horizon and btw the popcorn and chips/bean dip I'd have been completely shocked not to be up a bit (delighted, but shocked!!).
