I'm going to try to stay around 500 cal today and see if it happens again.

I just want to say to Mary, that you are an inspiration. I am so excited for you to have reached your goal...it helps the rest of us realize it really is possible to get there! You look beautiful!

Okay, do any of you get so obsessed with this protocol that you let it get in the way of your life? I have this friend in New York, Ivy League professor, published author, etc. Well, every once in a great while he flies me to NYC for a weekend and spoils me (Broadway shows, nice restaurants, etc.). He wants to fly me out there this weekend. I really want to go, but I am terrified of going off plan (which I will...the restaurants are part of the experience). I'm not saying it would be an accident to go off plan, I'm saying it would be a planned, cautious cheat...meaning I wouldn't get out of control, but I would definitely eat more than I have been, and some things would be off protocol. (No alcohol). But it scares me. I am not sure I trust myself to be able reel myself back in when I return from the weekend, and I really don't want to sabotage my 32 pound loss. I am actually considering not going to NYC. Is that crazy?
Could you do it another weekend after you are in P3? If it were me I know for sure I would cheat and set myself back at least a week. Are you far enough in to do a planned P3 interruption? I believe you need to have 21 effective dose days under your belt. If you do go, I would recommend to stop dosing and follow P3 rules and then start back up P2 when you get back.

Girl, I totally understand that. It's okay to be a little obsessive because this is actually working. Are these trips like spur of the moment trips? If so, I would imagine it could wait at least 2 weeks, don't you think? I would definitely get into p3 before going, because then atleast you can enjoy some additional foods that you cannot do on p2. It seems like it's always something though doesn't it? When trying to lose weight it's a trip, a birthday, a party, superbowl...etc. This is how we all gained so much weight to begin with! haha! I hope it works out for you to go in a couple of weeks. What a sweet friend to do that!

Went ahead and got rid of the half pound I gained yesterday, and let go of another half! Wooohoo!!
I just looked at my ticker and realized I am a little over half way to my goal after only 10 days of vlcd!! I'm excited about that!

Thanks for your advice, girls. He has an apt in NYC, but he lives in upstate NYC (and goes back and forth to Yale part time as well) during the school year and rents the apt out while he's not using it. I don't know when he will be back in NYC again. That's why I'm torn.

I probably shouldn't go. It was a really spur of the moment invitation anyway.

I am totally gung-ho about weight loss right now! And I do have that weekend meet-n-greet coming up in a few weeks...

Wow, girl! You're doing great! Good for you, right back on protocol and you are seeing movement in the scale!

Is this a goal for round 1 only or is this your final goal that you are so close to reaching? Congrats on doing so well!

Thanks Skinnie Minnie!
Sorry, I should have said mini-goal. I have a Loooooooong way to go! LOL

I just set a reasonable and most likely attainable mini-goal for my first round. It really is motivating for me to try and lose 20 something pounds rather than just looking at ALL the pounds until my final goal. I probably have 3 rounds, possibly 4 rounds to do.
Of course I'm still hoping to actually surpass my mini-goal in this first round! haha

Ya, that's a tough call...... Go to NYC, or look smokin' hot for your meet-n-greet? LOL
I'd go with smokin hot. hahaha!
Plus then....the next time you go to nyc, your friend will be like "dang girl!" after all that weight you lose.

I did have an extra "meal" last night after my workout but it was needed. Thinking of some extra cardio tonight to keep me burning!

Yesterday was my first VLCD and it SUCKED! I felt sick by 7pm. I was dizzy, had a headache and had trouble concentrating. I fell asleep expecting to be STARVING this morning, but I feel ok. Been at work since 7am and just having coffee now.

Awww, I'm sorry, Robby! I feel ya. I felt like that for nearly a week. I thought I was going to pass out a couple times on my commute home (hour and a half commute). It helped me to break up the drops and take like 6 drops six times a day. Stick with it though...when your body adjusts it will get better!

Another thing that helped with my hunger is to eat fat free cottage cheese as my protein. Sometimes between meals if my stomach was really hurting, I would eat a tablespoon of fat free cottage cheese. It helped me a lot. But again, that's ME. For best results, follow protocol to the letter. For ME, it's more important to do what it takes to keep losing weight, even if it means I eat a little more protein and up my calories to 680 a day...I did what it took NOT to give up on this woe. And it is working for me. YMMV.

Yesterday was VLCD2 for me and I felt the same way. I had a fuzzy head and a headache all day. I feel good today though so hopefully it was just a detox from all the junk I ate while loading. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better today too.

I had a 3.4 pound loss overnight so it was definitely worth it!

That is a quite a pickle to be in. If it were me, I would find a way to get out of it. I have cheated this round--2 TIMES --and now I have set myself back by 2 weeks You see once you cheat once, you feel it is OK to cheat again. And then a cycle starts. Well at least that is what happens with me!! I got out of meeting hubby for lunch today because our DD stayed home from school. I am thanking God because there is only 1 place I can eat while on P2 and our DS will not eat there. Since he is only 5 and not in school yet, he comes with me. It is difficult saying no all the time, but in the end I want to be over and done with this round before going out. Just drinking a Diet Coke or coffee is fine sometimes, but I would still enjoy with everyone not watching from the sidelines. The smells....... they really get to me and it is torture watching everyone eating what I wish I could. I have to endure that this weekend when we take my DH's aunt out to lunch for her birthday. Having cheated 2 times already this round I will just sit there if I have to. But do I really want to do it any more than I have to if I have a choice??? NO!! Oh, well I have written way more than I should have. Sorry. Just trying to give you my experience.

Only down .4 this morning. I'm a little bummed because I didn't expect the slow down to happen this quickly. I'm on VLCD6. Oh well, it's still a loss so I'm not too upset.

Whew! Finally got caught back up! I got rid of the internet at home as I was finding that I lived on the computer from the time I got home until I went to bed. I needed a break! Now I'm behind on keeping up with things!

Mary- WTG! What an accomplishment! I can only imagine how great it would feel to see that goal number on the scale. I'll probably faint!

Like some of you I've added more protein. I'm staying away from the breadstick and most of the fruit and I've added a bit more protein. I was getting too light headed towards the end of last week. I was fine until then. I'm on vlcd24 and I think I'm going 1 more week- or until I get off what I gained so if adding some protein keeps me going then I'll do it. I had a loss of 1.5 on the scale so its not stalling me yet. Of course I'm up a good 3.5 pounds yet from cheating.

Not really...having a hard time making sense out of this diet. Just charted my losses and am noticing my loss was pretty steady until beginning of the 3rd week then has been fluctuating up and down.

Yesterday's food:
lunch:
3.5 oz mahi mahi (marinated in P2 orange ginger dressing)
9.2 oz sauted cabbage
snack 5.6 0z apple

dinner:
thai spicy shrimp soup
1.5 cups chicken broth (low sodium NO sugar)
3.8 oz shrimp
spices: lemongrass, thai peppers, lime leaves, fish sauce, lime juice

snack 5.8 oz apple

64 0z water
16 oz tea

I counted the shrimp, lime juice and chiken broth.
Toatl calories for the day just under 500.

Week 1: 214/209/205/203/201/200.8/200.2
Week 2: 202.2/199/197.4/198/197/197.6/195.8
Week 3: 196.2/196.2/198.2 apple day/ 193/194.8/191.8/192.2
Week 4: 192/194.4

Anybody see anything here than would cause a 2.4 lb gain?

lunch:
3.5 oz mahi mahi (marinated in P2 orange ginger dressing)
9.2 oz sauted cabbage
snack 5.6 0z apple

dinner:
thai spicy shrimp soup
1.5 cups chicken broth (low sodium NO sugar)
3.8 oz shrimp
spices: lemongrass, thai peppers, lime leaves, fish sauce, lime juice

snack 5.8 oz apple

64 0z water
16 oz tea

I counted the shrimp, lime juice and chiken broth.
Toatl calories for the day just under 500.

Week 2: 202.2/199/197.4/198/197/197.6/195.8
Week 3: 196.2/196.2/198.2 apple day/ 193/194.8/191.8/192.2
Week 4: 192/194.4

Anybody see anything here than would cause a 2.4 lb gain?
Your menu looks perfect. Is TOM due soon? I usually gain like that before TOM even while in P2. Is this a setpoint for you that you can remember? My humble advice would be to not sweat it and drink extra water today - may just be retaining for some reason. Did you take any medicines or use any oil based products?
