 Excited to start this but...

Hello everyone! Very excited to give the drops a try. But had a couple questions that I'm still very confused about. I was on a liquid diet I loved and it worked great, but couldn't afford it any longer. So for this diet, as long as I stay under the 500 calories can I use whey shakes in place of meat and the melba toast or whatever it is? I'm used to drinks and I don't have time to "eat" at work...just down a drink. Plus I don't eat any seafood at all-and I couldn't handle eating beef or chicken that much (once in awhile maybe). I also heard they have a Stevia chocolate drink out that tastes great as a hot chocolate substitute? So if I stayed below 500 calories can I use these drinks? Not sure how many carbs we can have on this diet either? Sigh, if I can't use the shakes or stevia drinks for this, I may have to keep looking. Thanks so much for your time and help!!

i am using shakes..
i use them every day of my life bc of hypoglycemia
i take them in between meals..
but for this diet i only have one a day..
i split it in half so each xtra protein serving
is only 1/2 normal serving..
extra protein shakes added to this diet are popular
with the HCG clinics here in SoCal..
unlike what you want to do..
i do eat the meat portions usually as seafood..
i havent read yet of anyone doing what you are proposing..
but i dont see why it wouldnt work...

From what I have read, most people seem to do fine as long as they stick to 500 calories or thereabouts, and get adequate protein. I say give it a try -- why not?

There isn't an exact carb limit mentioned -- Simeons allows 2 fruits and 2 melba toasts daily, but a lot of us eliminate some or all of those carbs. I didn't lose any better by eliminating the fruit, so I added it back in. Hope that helps!

The stevia hot chocolate is pretty awful. You have to doctor it up so much that it is not worth buying (it is not cheap) You could probably make your own just as easily!

Hello!
Thank you so much fembomb, minimonkey, lewlew48 for the info and help...the warning about the stevia hot chocolate LOL....happy I didn't waste money on that!!! And soontobesexy'ntx for the hot chocolate I will try. I am going to try the shakes and hopefully this will work. I'm desperate. Even if it's to get some of the initial weight off then try something else-at least get it going. Anyone know of any great tasting whey shakes? I did try Jillian Michaels...omg....the worst I have ever tasted. I couldn't believe it. Too bad I can't use Slim fast that stuff tastes so yummy! Thanks everyone for your time!!!

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
I'm following more of a LC approach and use MRM LC choc protein shakes. I add to almond milk and think they're pretty good. The Silk brand plain almond milk is the best.

I used protein shakes in place of meals often during P2 and was successful with it. I'm a rogue though, I kept cream in my coffee and upped my protein a bit. I ditched the apple/orange/bread - made me hungrier.

Try it and see how it goes. I suspect you'll be pleased.

you can also use the SF hot cocoa as cold chocolate milk
just add cold water/ice water in a shaker

Hello!! Oooh that's a great idea soontobesexy'ntx thanks-I love chocolate milk-yum!
julieboolie, that's what I did on my liquid diet-broke the rules LOL made it my own-took more protein (ate delicious things that were absolute big no-nos like hot-dogs, rotisserie chicken etc) and it still worked really well and fast. No fruit-low carbs too. I think I will do that for this too. Did you still stay the 500 calories? Would you mind letting me know how many carbs you think you do a day??? I won't eat the melba toast-I'll stick with the shakes-but unsure the daily carb amount. Thanks so much guys!!!
