Hey Julie-
Hang in there! If there is anything I have learned it is that the scale is a finicky fellow, indeed, and weight is much more complicated than just calories in/calories out! You just have a wonderful time today and enjoy all of the P3 foods you CAN eat with your hubby...just imagine if this had been a couple of weeks ago and you could only munch on a grissini, 3.5 oz of protein, and 2 cups of spinach...not too exciting! I haven't had any bathroom issues to date on this phase, but it possibly has something to do with the change in foods, don't you think? My hubby uses miralax or benefiber with decent results. I'm sure once your body remembers how to process everything correctly, you'll be "moving" right along! If you are a coffee drinker, that often helps, too! Good luck and enjoy your day! |

Morning all! Yes it is day 5 of P3 for me and I am at LIW!!!
![]() ![]() I ate alot (calorie wise) yesterday, but it was all good stuff. Even went out with the family last night to dinner and ate REALLY well. ![]() My calories were 2897 when I entered them into ****** this morning!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Here was yesterday's menu: I ate bfast several hours later than normal yesterday. B: Leftover Italian Sausage peppers, onions with 2 fried eggs S (at lunch time)Greek Yogurt with blueberries and walnuts L (at 3:00 ish) Leftover hamburger and a slice of cheese D: (at7:00) bacon wrapped scallops, salad w/parm garlic dressing (no croutons), BIG sirloin strip steak with broccoli & butter, coffee with half and half . I was full, but not stuffed at dinner. I easily passed on dessert. Hoping I don't have a delayed reaction on the scale tommorrow. Oh well, I will eat well with lots of good protein today and see what happens. I am feeling really good though!! I made a bunch of burgers the other day and I am using them up! Today's menu: B: Cheeseburger topped with fried egg and avocado S: Greek yogurt w/blueberries and walnuts L: Not sure...maybe a greek salad...or tuna and Feta. D: Corned Beef and Cabbage. They had a great sale on the CB at the store this week. Have a great day everyone. |

Morning, Ladies! Great jub with the transitioning to p3 -- sorry to hear of the frustrations some of you are having on the scale!
Shelby -- I, too, am hoping I can keep the fruit on p3 -- I have grown really fond of it! I woke up to a 1.2 gain, but am not surprised, given I have worked out the past two days, and I am sore. Muscles hog up water when they are healing. I am going to need to be a lot les fixated on the scale number now that I am working out -- it's worth it, as I really missed my workouts. Still on p2 here until my drops run out ( I'm guessing 2 more weeks?) , and then it is p3 for me as well....If I am really hung up on seeing a low number I will do another short round later on. Feeling great today after a night's good sleep, and off to a flea market this morning -- hoooyah!

Good job you guys!!
Kay-back to LDW? Wtg!! Peggy-great job!! And nice menu!! That's such a wonderful feeling. Being able to eat so well and your body is happy with it!! I'm up to 154.2 today . I gave myself a window up to 153 so I'm out of my range . But, I hope it goes away after a nice clean day at home today! Eating carefully, and drinking a lot!!I ate out all day yesterday. We left the house at 7:15am and got home at 8:00pm - running around the whole day. I didn't drink much water at all, which is my biggest disappointment. I tried to eat well, and not overdo it. I basically had a late breakfast (bacon, eggs, cottage cheese) and had a few bites of dd's burger at lunch and dh's calzone innards for lunch, several coke zeros, and chicken w. poblano chiles and onions/pepper in a cream sauce for dinner. It was all good, on plan foods. I know some of it is just water retention. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Have a good day all!!

I completely agree. Way more fun than P2
I enjoyed those wings!! Yummy!! And I had some fruit today too, blueberries, strawberries and a few slices of kiwi w/ a bit of greek yogurt - yummy!!Drinking a lot of h2o today, hope that'll flush me out. I may need to do a CR tomorrow. We'll see. I can do it. Staying in my "window" is important enough to try |

It sounds like everyone is hanging right in there! The little fluctuations can be frustrating, to be sure, but it is definitely paying off. I'm still at LDW today, and hoping to be tomorrow, too. This morning I tried a "pancake/waffle" recipe that was on one of the other threads. It was made with ricotta cheese, two eggs and various seasonings...I cooked up an apple, added that to the batter and ended up "baking" it in my oven to finish it off. It. Was. Delicious! Almost like a custard, but definitely more pancake like. My kids and husband were begging for bites....And I agree with everyone that P3 is way more fun than P2! (Although there was something nice about the simplicity of P2, wasn't there?)
I've been eating lots of salads for my other meals b/c I loaded up my fridge this week and don't want the veggies to go bad. But I made a meatloaf recipe that was in my South Beach Diet Book, and it was super good. The tomato sauce was made with tomato paste, water, a 1/2 cup of dry red wine, garlic, basil, and oregano. It was the tastiest tomato sauce I've had in a long time. I rarely cook with wine, b/c I don't often have an open bottle OR I don't want to open an bottle for such a small amount, but I think I may look for more recipes that call for it. It was very flavorful, with no sugar/carbs added. I am finding that I am really enjoying the challenge of finding new ways to eat. I hope everyone has a great beginning of the week! I tend to fluctuate more during the week when my stress level rises, so I am carefully planning meals and snacks early. Good luck to all! |

Yay for fruit! That has been my favorite thing about p2 -- I missed it a lot on LC. I cut it out for a bit of p2, but it wasn't helping, so I added it back, and it has been great -- so glad I don't need to give it up in p3
