Hang on Jenny!!! That gain is NOTHING BUT WATER!!!! it truely is. You know that eating 800 cals is NOT going to give you a gain. I hope you are ok after falling though! Hang tight!!!

Exactly!... You need some good fats in there to get your calories!

It's amazing how those first several pounds lost make you feel so much lighter! No belly bloat, no water retention. I sailed right through TOM with that 9-pound loss, too.

I'm ready for it to slow down mentally, because I know it will, and probably should.
Great job all you losers!!

The trip is to handle a very large part of my mother's estate, and to be honest, a celebratory cocktail and dinner with my dear sister is more important than weight loss at this occasion.
Have a safe trip and just keep going. Have a great time and your stall will break at some point. I agree with shaking things up a bit. It would be good for you both physically and mentally. Losing weight is taxing on our minds. Be safe and have fun with your sister!

I am up too, but I know it is from TOM. TOM and I are in a battle of cravings right now and I am fighting him off pretty well. Can't wait until he is gone. Hope that you are feeling okay. Slipping on ice isn't any fun. You'll be losing again soon.

Mini and Kateenie--Holy smokes!! It's just amazing to see how well you are doing. Glad the chili is working for you Kateenie. Seemed to work well for Julie too. I love it.

Had a couple of small pieces of breaded fish last night for dinner. I was making it for DH and DD but couldn't resist it. Just that amount of wheat made me puff up. Ack. Funny, though, I felt like I was cheating when I also ate a few bites of my daughter's sugar-free applesauce, then I remembered, oh yeah, it's on protocol! (the protocol I don't really follow )

Eating about 1,000 calories just to "stay in the game" and allow my hormone wackiness to level out before I go lower again. Amazing how comfortable 1,000 calories is to me now on the HHCG. Couldn't do that before and still feel relatively good.

Hilly, hang in there. You n me, we can do this! We just might be a little slower than some of these whippersnappers and that's okay. Sorry you fell on the ice--ouch.

Deb, you're my hero.

Febomb--I'm trying banana (flavored) crepes with choc sauce today.

do you think there is a limit with the fat grams

How satisfying it is to meet your goals? Congrats! Are you breaking out any clothing from your past? I am already thinking about it myself and I am 13lbs away from goal.

Kateenie, I want to be like you with my first week. I am already craving a cookie but knowing that others are losing and sticking to it is encouraging. I love p2 chili as well. I can't have it all that often though because I often miss all of the chili fixin (cheese, sour cream, etc.)

Here is my update:

I woke up this morning and the scale said 177.6. After I got out the shower it said 177.0. I don't get it so I am just going to go with the higher number which means I did not lose but it is only the first day.

I had P2 egg drop soup late last night so I could be holding onto sodium. I am drinking water like a fish today to put that in check.

Today I plan to have egg drop soup for lunch (quickest thing I could make)
and try to make the Garlic "Buttery" Sauce that is mentioned in the protocol recipes thread. I bought some PastaSlim Shirataki noodles so I am looking forward to a feast for dinner!

I have an event tomorrow that I planned and I ordered my favorite cheese platter. I may go really rouge sooner than I thought.

Well honestly I never counted fat grams, but I added in things like regular salad dressing, cream in my coffee, skin on my chicken thighs, or the crispy fat of a steak several days a week. So while I did not conciously TRY to add fat, I also did not go out of my way to take it out.

I would definately not go overboard like full on Atkins at first. Especially after eating such low fat, low cals. This seems to lead to problems. I believe I added something every day at first going from around 600 cals on up to whatever I was using on my up days... sometimes 1200-1500 or more.

It REALLY is an individual experiment, and that is what I try to stress to everyone. What worked for me, may not work for you etc. HOWEVER, simple things like cream in coffee, salad dressing, chicken thighs, is a good place to start and see how your body reacts.

Lovingthrill--I still can't figure out the multi-quotes.

About that chili, you can add a spoonful of FF cottage cheese to it and it's pretty good that way. I like it with the shirataki orzo too, kind like beans which I miss.

Thanx Deb..
appreciate what you do here..
as i have read TONS of your posts for a while now..
i spent a lot of time researching this ..
starting one year ago..
before testing it out on myself..
i am using heavy whipping cream...
which in atkins it Does slow my weight loss down..
but only by a small bit..
so maybe i wont use it in my second round..
want to give it a good go first though...
if i lose 1 or 2 pounds less bc of it..
oh well...
i am a coffee lover and dont want to give up my cream!!
i used a total of 2 tsp of coconut oil last week..
coconut oil usually helps me lose in atkins..
so thats prolly fine for me..

from what i hear you saying..
i gather that ..
in a way its not diff from atkins...
some ppl stall eating cream cheese..
some lose faster...
some stall on nuts..
some keep losing...
on atkins maintanence ..
some can eat oatmeal or beans..
some gain overnight eating those items..
i know i gain eating too many beans..
for the life of me i dont know why..
low carb bread never makes me gain...

so i am thinking its a matter of conscious effort..
experiementing to see what works on case by case basis..
its worth the effort..
bc the HCG is really a miracle...

Congrats on your success Deb..
and the courage to step up to the plate when you did..
and say the truth about the protocol..
i saw you went thru a few bad moments with some nasties a while back...
Good for you to have backbone...
i know you have helped a lot of ppl ..
and many more come..

Thanx again for the info

Thank you so much! I tell ya what you GOT IT! YES!! that is what I was trying to say, so try different things and see how you do! I also, love my coffee and it is worth a bit less loss to have it the way I love it!.

Yes, Experimenting is worth it!! Even if you find you need to go back to low cals, at least you TRY, and see if you can have more. It may be a BIT slower, but then again, maybe not!

All the best to you my dear!! HAPPY LOSING!!!!

Hope everyone's week is going well. Frozen in here in north Texas. Was sleeting with thunder and lightning seemed like half the night.

It's finally occurred to me that my drops might not be working. I was using the old bottle the first (successful) week in January, and a new bottle since. I've gone ahead and ordered some pellets to try instead.

Went rouge really early, GRRR

So I am sitting here trying to complete my taxes before I start dinner before I start my readings for classes. Well, everything was great until I tried to get a new pin to e-file. They wouldn't give me!!! So I was tearing my place apart for my 2009 taxes and no luck. Over 2 hours down the drain. During that time I was so in need of food. I had two sugar free hard candies and a weight watchers candy (not even sugar free).

I am losing it on day 2.

Paula-- good call on the pellets -- that might well be the problem.

Kateenie -- wow wow wow on the losses! Fantastic!!!!!

Loving -- the first week of protcol seems to be pretty forgiving comparitvely for most people -- now get the candy far away and out of sight, and hope all is still ok....

Thanks, everyone, for all the kudos and kind words!

Yes, I am definitely breaking out old clothes... I have been wearing an old favorite pair of jeans this week.. ones I couldn't get into for over a year! And now, they are hanging on me! They need a run through a hot wash/dry, and a belt

I am back into all but my very smallest jeans now And those are a hop, skip, and jump away!

I am beginning to feel a bit run down now, though -- my schedule is both mentally and physically demanding, and today I definitely have some muscle fatigue and soreness that isn't quite normal for me. I took some potassium, magnesium, and multivitamins... thinking those will help -- but I am thinking this round has just about run its course.

If I am losing gangbusters still (well, or even losing steadily), I will extend it a few more days... but otherwise, I think I will end dosing as planned on Friday. I wouldn't at all mind dropping a few pounds below goal to give me some wiggle room -- but I also expect that there will be some inch loss even in p3....

I am beginning to really look forward to some more sustaining food, and to concentrating on replenishing and rebuilding my body. The detox this whole round has been intense! My skin stil hasn't fully healed from the breakout, and I am still getting periodic itching fits.

I also really, really want to start working out more -- and that requires food!

I have to remember that I can always do another short round later, if I want to lean out more or what not.... I am still planning to stock up on some bottles of drops/pellets as soon as I get my check.... I want them available in case the feds go after them! Hope I won't ever need to use them (unless I do a leaning-out round) but the security of having them will be priceless.

One of my tasks for the weekend will be to go through and try on clothes, and weed out those that are just too, too big. 15 lbs is a LOT to lose on a little thing like me

I will definitely be needing to do some alterations

And I cannot, cannot wait to wear my absolute goal jeans -- they are my favorites!!!!

Parallel lives, mini, on several fronts...

I just ordered 4 bottles of pellets, so I'll know I can do short rounds in the future. Looks like I'll do 3 rounds, as opposed to the 2 I imagined.

I packed for my trip and had to select smaller-sized clothes than I thought. I get to wear my favorite black jeans for my night out with my sister.

I was digging around in my under-bed storage bins, and made a note to myself to put away all my 12's. If/when I get down to 8's I'll donate the 12's and store the 10's.

Maintained my loss today. I was out of town last night and didn't get enough water in, but I ate before I left and stuck with the plan.

Had a late night, so I'm tired today! Ready to hit it hard with my fluid intake, because I'm in very dark ketosis and it makes me feel pretty yucky if I'm not able to flush that out.

Happy releases everyone!

No loss, no gain today -- that is just fine by me! The vitamins and a good night's sleep helped, and I feel a lot better today.

I'm still on the fence about whether to end the round this weekend or not -- I am kinda strangely hung up on seeing 105 on the scale, and that is truly silly. But, silly or not, it's real for me.

Hope today is a better day! I am still waiting for one more form so we can complete our taxes. And it's from a government agency too...I would think they would be more prompt at sending their forms out.

I don't see anything wrong with seeing that #. And you know you could do it now...or do it later. We'd be behind you whatever you do.

It's frustrating that my weight creeped up to 152 after my weekend. Like all my hard work in January was a waste...I didn't eat 8 pounds worth of food or do anything crazy either. Maybe something hormonal...it's definitely pre-TOM right now. It's down 2 pounds now after my "up" day (1900 calories). I'm enjoying the down day up day more than 5 straight down days.

Hope everyone stays warm. Our heater wouldn't turn off yesterday and we discovered our sliding glass windows had ice on the inside of our house, and the doors aren't shutting properly. We just don't have a house built to withstand subfreezing temps. School canceled another day...really hope it does warm up before Friday as I'm tired of being cooped up at home and I have a couple jobs I need to get done before the weekend.

Kids both spent the night at neighbor's house, so I got a great night's sleep.

Hi all!

Fell off the wagon with gusto yesterday, strangely only had a .2lb gain, but I am sure it will show up tomorrow. OP so far today, dealing with PMS and that is never any fun!!

Oy! Three weeks away on business. 3 different resorts, 2 different cruises and I am soooo off program it is not even funny. Gained about 7 pounds between the last three weeks/Christmas and now I have to get my head BACK into the game and back onto HCG. I think I am going to do just a plain Low Carb week to kick start and get into ketosis then start the drops next week.

Coming home to the snow, ice and slop is not helping my thought process though!

I just figured out that I have 3.5 lbs more to lose before I become OVERWEIGHT instead of OBESE!! WOOHOO!!

I don't pay that much attention to the BMI, but I love falling down into a new category!

Hey guys!! I'm still reading along and rooting for you all!!

Mini-you're kicking toosh and taking names!! Listen to your body and do what you think is best. You're a rockstar!!

Petchie-that's not so bad considering all the yummy stuff and travel you've done. Take a week to see what water you can lose on your own, then work on real loss. I bet at least half of that is gone this week!

Paula-hope your pellets arrive soon. I've thought about ordering some since they'll keep well. I imagine I will eventually decide to do another round. Not soon, more like April, but they'd keep, right?

Fembomb-so glad to have you here!! Love your experiment and posts. I'm gonna' try that crepe too! Happy losing!!

Lovingthethrill-I'll bet the scale won't even notice it. Get back on track, try to eat more often, and you'll be fine!!

I'm learning as I go in P3 about what my body likes and doesn't like. I remember others talking about digestive issues (read that constipation) and didn't pay much attention to it. Well, now that I'm experiencing it, I wish I'd prepared better. Finally had a visit from "bernice" today (never did understand where this particular euphamism originated). Whew!! Even carefully watching what I've been eating I'm up 3lbs from my LDW. Hope it's back down tomorrow. We'll see. Not panicking. Gave myself a 3lb window b/c I have big swings. But I am really enjoying cooking more. I'd post my recent favorite discoveries, but don't want to tempt you in P2. I'll go post over on the P3 thread.

Keep working your plan ladies!! You're doing so well and are almost there!! You can do it!!

Paula, you would think that but they just decide to go slower because they can!!!

Julie, thanks for the encouragement. I haven't been eating any fruit so I might add in an apple a day.

My morning update: I woke up 176.4 so I lost 1.2lbs. Super exciting. I know I want to lose 13 lbs but if I just see another decade I will do the happy dance.

I made the P2 shrimp scampi and I was not too happy with it. I might try it again because I bought safeway chicken broth this time and it was not that great. I had so much that I had to bring some to work today.

Have a great day Ladies!!
