Here's a recipe that I found on Sandy's Simple Recipes that I thought might be a good one to make a BIG batch of, and have stocked up in the fridge to have for P2 veggies:

Homemade Sweet Pickles........
2 cups of sliced cucumber
3 T vinegar
1 t dill
1/2 pk. stevia
...black pepper
Combine all ingredients except cucumber & mix well.
Toss in cucumbers.
Cover & refrigerate. The longer you wait the better the flavor.

I know weight varies throughout the day, but I admit it made me feel awful. How can less then 500 calories a day make it go up that much? I hope it's the 100oz of water I drank .

One gallon of water weighs 8.35 lbs so unless you're output is faster than your input, you'll see weight go up and down through out the day.

Seriously though, I'm only down 3.5 pounds over pre-load weight. In 10 days of regular very low carb I average about 5-6 pounds. Trying to decide if this diet is working as well for me. I am going to stick to it though for the 23 days as I'm nearly 1/2 way there. I'm willing to give it a shot, but it would be so much easier if I was losing pounds and inches!

I've thought WHERE ARE THE BIG LOSSES too! My losses have been 1.8, 1.2, .6 and .6. I mean I'm glad I'm losing something and I'm loving that my pants are getting loose, but my last two days were .6 - was hoping for 1 lb or better. Count me in the greedy bunch!

If you average that out, you are losing 1.05 lbs/day. I'd say that's pretty good!

Plus...from looking at your stats...you are not TOO far from your ideal goal weight. You are DOING great...considering that you don't have a BUNCH of weight to lose.

Me, too! I'm definitely a carnivore. I'm actually looking at going grain-free once to reach goal. I tend to eat out of control when grains are involved. It doesn't matter which ones, either. Even gluten-free.

I'm a type O (neg) and haven't had any problems with cabbage so far. I'll definitely keep it in mind if things slow down more than I expect.

I don't think I've noticed any problems with oranges yet, but am going to pay closer attention. I don't have my blood type book with me - I'm at work - but will look when I get home tonight.

One thing for SURE I know is I had to give up coffee. O types aren't supposed to have it anyway, but I started drinking it black and it tore my stomach UP. So now it's tea for me. And I've not eaten melba on this - using Wasa Light Rye (one) instead.

My sister is actually the one who pointed out the whole blood type thing. She just lost 20 lbs. on hCG and seemed to stall each time she ate cabbage.

Wow after doing this for a bunch of rounds you still learn something new I think it totally makes sense until you tell me that I should be a vegetarian. I hate veggies I have seen/read a bit about the book a long, long time ago so I would be fascinated to know more now. Thanks for bringing this up!!!!

Thanks Gracie and LF for the encouragement. When I finally find something that works again, I lose all patience. Someone mentioned summer is coming - I so want to be ready.

Regarding clothes, I was at Old Navy and they had so much 50% off plus my 25% coupon, so I bought some tops that are my goal size. Forget buying pants yet. That is where most of my weight is so I am keeping that as a reward for hitting 130 - my goal for R1. We are skiing in VT end of Feb and I so want to fit back into my old ski pants.

I'm loving the Braggs's. I saute chicken breasts with it and chicken broth. NUM NUM!
The WF Ranch is going back to the store - pooey!

Interesting thing about the cabbage. I'm also Type O. The three nights I ate cabbage, my losses were .4, .4, and .2., the other 3 days it was 3, 2.6 and 1. I loved eating the cabbage raw though, crunchy and yummy. I'm not crazy about most of the veggies on the protocol except tomatoes and cabbage. Well this might make it more difficult.

Dawn - This book is certainly not new and the science behind it is always being slammed. I used to own a health food store and the book / diet was the hottest thing going for a while. After dieting for so long, and obsessing about what I "can" and "can't" eat, when I read the book it made a lot of sense to me. I just know I do better with a lot of exercise, a lot of protein, and dairy gives me headaches! Maybe it's just coincidence, but I think not! And I know an awful lot of people who follow the protocols for health reasons (arthritis, diabetes, etc.) - not to lose weight.

I must admit that come summertime ain't nobody gonna tell me I can't eat cantaloupe and strawberries! But right now....I may just experiment and see if I stall when I eat non O-type foods.

Well I ate one melba after the growling and immediately felt better. So better that I fell asleep for a few hours and missed lunchtime. I woke up and took my drops (tried 8 this time) and heated up my lunch. I had tilapia with hot sauce and a sliced tomato.

I decided to make a checklist for every day the foods I can have. It helped me to make that and check off the one melba and see how many remaining snacks I could make out of the other stuff.

I had to up my protein today - my muscles were making me feel like I'd run a 5k, hours after my workout. As a result, I'm about 70 calories over, but I know darn well I burnt at least that much during my workout this morning.

What's weird right now (after having had dinner - a lump of chicken and half an apple), is I feel about 10 pounds lighter for having had the extra protein earlier today. Compared to yesterday, when I just felt horrible all day (jittery, unsteady legs, and heavy), which I passed off as "just getting used to the program".

This is taking some figuring out, that's for sure.

It's funny how we become "used" to things, eh? I just couldn't beleive my realization about "never" being hungry...for years. This REALLY made me upset with myself.

I agree. My friend follows the "Eat for Your Type" way, and feels ALOT better...and it's NOT to lose weight. (She's lucky that way!!! LoL!!!) I'm going to have to borrow her book, and narrow my selections down from our protocol, and see if my losses increase at all. I think that this would be a smart move to try out.

The nights that I feel lighter, I, usually, have a nice release the next day. Then, there's the nights that I go to bed "not feeling light," and I either had a smaller release, or stayed the same. I had these nights without changing my protein amounts, or when I ate them. I think that our bodies just release when they are darn, good and ready...even though we'd like the releases huge...and every day. You're doing good!!!! Hang in there!!!!

There has to be a list online of the foods to avoid for your bloodtype. We should find it. I still have yet to come across any food on P2 that I stall out on, thank goodness!! But I still write down what I eat so I can keep track. I even use cream in my coffee when I have it and it hasn't slowed me down any. So I am still in the "I don't know if there is anything to that blood type thing" camp, but would love to read it again. I have to check out my library as that is where I first read about it.

well, this isn't a list, but it's a pretty decent summary. A Food List For The ""eat Right For Your Type"" Diet | LIVESTRONG.COM
As a type A-, i can tell you that despite what that list says, I function better on high amounts of protein. And there's NO WAY I'm giving up meat, LOL. And I hate veg, which is even funnier.

And @Lost and Found - thanks! And I'm hoping that trend holds sway for me as well.

I know right? Another type A and I don't do veggies either. I was thinking as I was eating my spinach this lunchtime "I better not buy any more of this on this round. I just don't like this spinach". I had a hair analysis done and it showed that my body does NOT digest carbs or protein So I am on the enzymes for the protein digestion and my doctor told me to go grain/gluten free! Thanks for the list. I will be researching this in the morning. The kids have to go to bed.
