Question for dh - getting to goal before end of round

Dh started hcg with me and only needed to lose 10 lbs and is 1 freaking 1 lb away already by VLCD4. Men!

So what can I tell him about what to eat once he loses that extra lb. I remember reading he should keep taking the drops for the full 3 weeks but increasing his calories, right? By how much? Does he just eat P3 or not yet? Does he stick by the +/- 2 lb window then? Help!

yay for your husband getting there so fast. I know you are supposed to do the full round so you don't gain the weight back but I am not sure on how much he is supposed to eat.

I am sure someone will be able to help you, I would think he would have to increase his calories so he doesn't keep losing the weight.

Simeons says less than 23-day course will result in regain after the program.

As to finishing out the 23 days with hcg and the 2 day afterward without hcg:

From P&I, under "Duration of Treatment":

As soon as such patients have lost all their abnormal superfluous fat, they at once begin to feel ravenously hungry in spite of continued doses. This is because HCG only puts abnormal fat into circulation and cannot, in the doses used, liberate normal fat deposits; indeed, it seems to prevent their consumption. As soon as their statistically normal weight is reached, these patients are put on 800-1000 Calories for the rest of the treatment. The diet is arranged in such a way that the weight remains perfectly stationary and is thus continued for three days after the 23rd dose. Only then are the patients free to eat anything they please except sugar and starches for the next three weeks.

(My note: since he's on homeopathic, change 3 days to 2 days.

He does need to do the entire 23 shots/doses or he will gain the weight back. If he is not hungry, I would continue as he is because he will only lose abnormal fat and he might have more than his goal suggests, altho he looked pretty lean in the photo you posted of the two of you. He will suddenly become ravenous when he reaches the point of no more abnormal fat. He should then increase his protein so that he is not hungry, but needs to complete the round. That includes doing P3 which is where he will stabilize and then P4 where he will slowly add back in starches and sugar and then on to maintenance.

Hope this helps!

My husband reached goal early so he started to have whole eggs for breakfast cooked in butter. Then we added greek yogurt and a little more fruit. He even added bananas w/o my knowledge and did fine. We also added unlimited amounts of allowed veggies. It was recommended to us on another site to add calories by way of fat. We also increased protein to 150 grams x 2daily. He already used HNH in his coffee so we added HWC. You can add it to the greek yogurt to increase fat. I make my own so I just used whole milk and added HWC to it. Add calories in until he stops losing.
