HI Ladies,

Hope everyone is great. I had a good loss last night. 2.2!! I know it's only because I have been off plan and eating way too much of everything. Almost didnt have my head in the game. I'm so glad that I got my act together!!!

Ladies, be strong. We have to realize that .44 or even less per day average is great. I think of it in sticks of butter. That's almost two sticks of butter a day. Think of it melting off of your body never to return again.

I am going to drink drink drink water all day long. It really does make a huge diff.

OK stay focused.

The good thing about going to bed, is that when you wake up...you get a fresh new start. Don't worry about yesterday, but concentrate on today!!!! YOU can DO this...I know that you can. You've done it before, and we are ALL here for you.

Down another 1.6lbs today. That means loading weight is gone and I'm 1lb below LDW of round 1. Now things really get fun!

I love the butter analogy. I will definitely remember that! Awesome loss!

OMG.

I thought it was cold here. We got down to 9 last night. However, woke up this morning and furnace is not working. It's 48 F in my house right now. Burrrrrrrrrrr!

On a good note, I saw 159.something today. Weight is fluctuating between 158 and 162. I like 150something days. Makes me feel better than seeing 160something. I would say "I can't wait to start losing again", but I can. I'm really enjoying this break(even if I do feel a little pudgy).

Hi, Stacey!!!! It IS freezing, but, atleast it's warm inside. I'm sorry about your furnace!!!! Any ideas when it will be fixed? Hopefully, you could go somewhere to get out of the cold...and that sure wouldn't be outside.

It sounds like you are stabalizing!!! It seems that many people fluctuate by more than 2 pounds, and I think that for those of us who retain water easily, it is normal. I'm sooooo excited for you. Enjoy your "time." Losing will come easier when it's time to come back to P2.

Just so I don't feel like I'm leaving anyone out...I just want to say that EVERYONE is doing great!!!! Even if we have "no loss" for the day...over time we are losing...and adding years, and less health problems, to our lives. Congrats to Everyone!!!!

It would be interesting to have a group of us, and total up the pounds lost, combined, for the week. I bet that we wouldn't believe our eyes.

Since I've been working out and slipped into the P3 maintenance routine I've had to figure out where the additional weight is coming from. So, I've come to the conclusion that I've gained up to 2 lbs from working out and 2 lbs from eating too much. So now, I'm convinced that I must do a steak day today to lose the additional 2+ lbs that I've put on and am monkeying with the idea of doing a chicken day, in the next day or two to lose the other possible 1 lb if need be.

I'm not sure if I'm complicating something simple or simplifying something complicated as I'm not an expert yet at figuring out what gains are from working out and what gains are from eating.

The losses are AMAZING....pounds and/or inches are coming off!!

I'm a VLCD virgin so have to ask a couple questions:

(I just measured out my meat portions and it didn't look like much (gasp)... BUT

For my VLCD1 lunch I browned some hamburger(92%), added some cabbage and steamed it in a little chicken broth - seemed like I needed some moisture.

I used two good slices of a head of cabbage, chopped it up and it filled a medium saute pan. It filled a normal plate and looked like too much food. I didn't weigh the cabbage.

Question 1: How do you decide how much of the veggie to use, are you alll (starting out) weighing the veggies and calculating the calories.

Question 2: how do you normally cook your protein being so lean- bake, broil, "fry". I'll probably be eating hamburger, chicken breasts, shrimp and tilapia. I like to saute so I'm thinking I'll be using chicken broth (5 cals/cup) or some lemon juice. Is this OK? I don't want the meat to get to dry.

I'm amazed I'm full from the first meal so want to make sure I'm not overdoing my veggie.

(Gained 1 lb on my two load days so not too bad - I felt very satisfied with them). Looking forward to seeing the losses.

Hoping beef and cabbage don't stall me b/c I love it. Maybe it wasn't a good choice for day 1...we'll see.

1. some plans say "1 large handful". I'm anal, so I weigh it and have 100 grams or less. 100 g of allowed veggies (measured raw) runs from 17 to 30 calories.

2.poached, dry heat in a pan and then add a little water to release it, broiled, baked on foil w/ a little lemon juice or water, wrapped in a cabbage leaf and baked, or dry fried and then add broth and veg for a soup.
I like lemon, a little water, and an herb or two with sea salt for poaching fish. Not a true poach because the liquid is scant.

I am 5' 3" so my weight should be between 118 and 141 according to the weight charts I would like to get to 125.

I know this round has been slower then R1 so it may have something to do with the pellets I guess I could try the drops again to see if they make a difference.

In round one I didn't count or measure veggies at all. all of them (except the tomato and onion) are so high fiber and low calorie that it would take a lot of them to go much over the 500 calories.

beef and cabbage is probably my favorite meal, especially starting out because it is so filling. I use a half head of cabbage per pound of ground beef.

baked chicken with spinach is probably my second favorite.

I usually poach my tilapia in just a bit of water and seaon with lemon pepper. That I usually pair up with asparagus.

The only way I can eat shrimp is precooked frozen ones that are not quite all the way thawed. It is my easiest meat but my least favorite. (it is a texture thing)

I am a pretty simple gal LOL

VLCD5 today and I only lost .2. I'm wondering if I'm retaining water as my wedding ring felt tight this morning. I bought and used some ff chicken broth- perhaps the sodium content was too high? I made hot and sour cabbage/halibut soup with it (nom nom noms). I used the whole can of broth due to still being hungry. Yesterday I was also totally wiped out. I had zero energy, which hasn't happened to me before. I'm hoping it was just a one-day thing.

I'm just going to keep going.

I'm sitting at 170.8 now (which on my scale was my old 165 damn scale ) so getting to 165 on my Wii and below it is where it takes me a month normally to lose a lb. Should be interesting!

I'm excited now! Oh and I cut out one drop last night and I felt better - not as hungry. I had my dance lesson and felt good. I kept my apple for after it and it was perfect.
Great job!

I'm hungry already and I suspect the SF chocolate flavoring I had mixed w/Tbl milk last night (faux white russian!). For years, I don't get hungry till 11 am or so.
Hmm. I had a little sf syrup on my apple last night. Contributing factor to my limited loss?

Sorry, gotta make this one a drive through post, lol!

Down .8 this morning on VLCD5 for a total of 8.8 down and below my pre-load weight. Of course I would have loved to seen a bigger drop but I'll take it!

Very cold here too and my worksite had a 2 hour delay. I've been slow moving today and still havn't downed even 1/2 my water. Gotta get on that! I'll write personals later!

I expect big loss days and slow loss days. As long as my average loss stays acceptable, I'm okay. I just found it interesting that the sf chocolate flavoring might be a potential staller for me if I do actually go into a bona fide stall. For now, I'll have it when I want it.

I had high loss and low loss days last round, though the high loss days were concentrated at the beginning. I am a little nervous because last round TOM was horrible (nearly 3 wks!) and it stalled me a lot. I was hoping that I'd lose big before he arrives, but I suppose I have to be patient. Maybe he'll be nice this round.

10 day stall but back on track

Hi All, hope things are going great with everybody.

I had my trip away and managed not to bad, even negotiated dinner out. However not all work members were all that complimentary about my diet. i.e. that's crazy!
But the worst thing about the trip was that I stalled big time - basically 10 days of a stall with the scales yoyoing up and down. Anyway couldn't work out if it was the food - canned asparagus instead of fresh or whether it was tom arriving.

Anyway Tom arrived the next week and I finally lost weight again and the scales are creeping back down. Yaaah.

So frustrating losing almost two weeks of the protocol to Tom.

PS. Has anyone tried any of the Walden Farm products - that whipped peanut butter is looking might good for when I finish P2. We can't get products like this in New Zealand so was thinking of getting some shipped over.

Torim, glad you're safely back after the trip.
I use Walden Farms sparingly...just dressings to date. Thousand island is good, but some say not to use it because it has pickle relish in it. I don't like the ranch dressing. I've heard mixed reviews about the WF peanut butter.
Non-walden farms, I use Torani SF flavoring syrup and Braggs aminos, both very good.

ETA..i try to get along without the WF and others, but if it's a difference between feeling satisfied or deprived, I'll use them.

Morning peeps! Down 1.1 again today! I had shrimp last and wondered how I would do. I cut my loss in half from the day before so I'll eat tilapia today instead of it and see if I lose more tomorrow. If not, then I'll be eating shrimp baby!

This weekend dh and I are working on our bathroom remodel. I'm hoping I get to start painting by Sunday night! We'll see though, it's been s.l.o.w. We totally gutted down to the studs.

Jabbok, how are you today? I hope that you didn't take my comment about the pellets the wrong way. I was wondering about them, as I will need to be ordering "something" soon, and I was considering the pellets because of the "alcohol breath" from the drops. If I could afford it, I would try the shots...a shot in the morning, and then, you're done. BUT...unfortunately...even at my age...I'm STILL a broke, single mother, college student. Geez....when will I "ever" grow-up?

Its encouraging to see all these great losses!

I had just shy of a 2lb loss on the scale this morning! We tried lobster for dinner last night. We bought a whole lobster and I truely thought that one lobster we cover both DH and I for dinner with the puney little protein portions we get! Anyway, it did not! Just a fyi for ya! DH was a trooper and ate some chicken to add to his lobster and let me have a full protein portion of lobster!

I think its the weekends that are going to be rough on us. We've been letting ourself be pretty lax on the weekends lately and eat more carbs than we should. Today my son has a b-day party to go to and my husband is taking my daughter to the mall so at least we'll be distracted! Tomorrow we're taking the kids to an indoor inflatable bouncing house. They need to burn off some energy and its too cold to be outside!

Add me to the list of people tired of winter! Its 8 degrees out with a windchill of -20. We're avid snowmobilers and take the kids sledding at least 1x/week. We own a farm and are always out taking care of critters so we're used to the cold, but this is just crazy!

Have a great day everyone!

A loss, is a loss, is a loss. I lost .2, but...I guess that is better than staying the same. I seem to lose in large amounts, and then barely nothing, then large amounts, then barely nothing.

Hoping for a whoosh soon.
