(Most of these people were doing 40 days.)

I feel better hearing that from several sources, though I hope my stall is more like the ones Paula described, and that it only lasts a few days.

Anyhow, thought that might be helpful for those of us who are new to this.
I know this is long past, but when I stall out I do an apple day. Dr S prescribes them for any loss not happening in 5 days and about day #6 of the same weight I realize "why not do an apple day"? I also have the dreaded 3rd week stall happen. But I am also impatient and if I have not seen movement in the scale it gets frustrating. I love apple days--there is no thought whatsoever. Are you thirsty...have an apple. Are you hungry.....have an apple. I love it!!!! Good luck!!!

I know what you mean! I was addicted to the scales for several years and it kept me at my lightest for the longest period. Then last year, I decided I was stable enough to skip the weighing. I would just know if I was gaining weight because my clothes would start feeling tight. Well, thanks to the miracle of lycra I managed to gain a whopping 18 POUNDS before figuring out I was getting fat. This was all while working out for an hour a day 5 days a week. I thought no way! I would never gain weight working out that much. But my diet was all over the place, which I now realize. P2 has a way of opening our eyes, no?

Never again will I stop weighing!

I am ambivalent about daily weighing -- I am an obsessive person in general, and it is so easy to get hung up on a number and not see the bigger picture...

Then again, like you folks, when I don't weigh regularly, I can easily gain weight and deny that it is happening. Much better to nip weight gain in the bud, and not have to take off 20 lbs later!

I think the stall is breaking for me... I am down from a few days ago, and today I held steady at the same weight as yesterday (rather than bouncing back up) so I feel pretty good about that.

If I don't see a continued drop, I will try an apple day, but it will include coffee... I just can't function without it! I'm not really interested in forcing a water-loss, anyhow... but I suspect that the enzymes in apples really do something to jumpstart the scale.

Lucky -- at least some of that gain HAS to be muscle, if you were working out that much! I can't wait until p3, when I am going to resume my workouts. I do resistance training (bar method, pilates, callanetics, fusion) and they build muscle like crazy. I am blessed to have some meso mixed in with my endo body type, and I build muscle easily... that does cause a scale gain, but the results are so fabulous... at that point, the scale doesn't mean a lot to me. I love being strong and lean.

Yes, it was undoubtedly partially muscle, but it was also just plain old CHUNK STYLE too! I gained a pants size, then those started getting tight and I said "Enough!". I am also a meso-endo but my endo part doesn't like to give up fat, so I keep getting more muscular without losing the fat = biggie size me! That's why I put the workouts on hold while I was doing this so that hopefully the fat would release. According to my scale which does body fat too, it looks like I've lost about 3% body fat during this time, which is awesome if true. But that part of the scale has always seemed a little squirrelly to me. According to it I had 40% body fat when I started. My trainer measured it and according to him it was 27% which seems a little more realistic. I think the scale is at least reliable enough to tell me it's going in the right direction, but that's about it.

Yeah, the endo part is a toughie, Lucky -- that is why I can't do aerobic type exercise and see any good results. The only thing that works for me is resistance training (very light, repetitive motions) ... and it does work wonders. If I lift heavy, or repetitively work a muscle heavily as in aerobics, I just bulk up.
