What are the chances?
I've read and re-read just about everything I can get my hands on about hHCg and my drops should arrive today. TOM was supposed to begin this past weekend but its yet to arrive (no, not preggers, not possible) so I'm a little annoyed but anyway, to my question...
I'm 22 pounds from my goal. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm down 2 more before I plan to load on Friday (and Saturday of course). What are my chances of being able to reach my goal in one short round? Here's my background, I'm currently very low carbing Monday through Friday and on the weekends I allow myself to eat a little higher carb. I tend to loose and gain easily. For instance, I lost 20 between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but gained 21 between Dec. 24th and January 3rd. I've since dropped 13 of those pounds. Typically following how I'm eating now I'll loose about a pound each day Monday-Friday then either gain 1 pound or stay the same over the weekend. I'd love to do a full 40 day round, but between my husband (who's doing this with me) and things that are coming up in March (mainly my son's b-day that I know I will eat cake at) I'd like to stick to the shorter round. So, what are my odds of losing 20 pounds in a 23 day round? One more question... do I have to do a phase 4 or can I, if I hit my goal weight, continue to limit my carbs? I feel so much better low carbing and I wasn't planning on ever going back to eating any other way. Last edited by mdolph; 01-12-2011 at 10:18 AM.. |

And I have only eeked out 15 pounds in each of my short rounds I have done. So it is so hard to say if you can do it or not. I believe once you are closer to goal you will lose a bit more slowly, but you will still lose with the hcg. You may be able to do it!! Good luck!!!
And remember phase 4 is where you add in starches as well as sugars. That includes the sweeter fruits as well as starchier veggies. It doesn't have to be just cake and cookies!! So you really should be adding in some sweet potatoes or bananas. But if you don't like them....pick another fruit or veggie you do that is higher on the glycemic index!!! My doc is always after me to be eating sweet potatoes.

I have a total of 18lbs to lose, and I am losing slower than some people here with more to lose. I have decided to go as long as necessary to reach goal, but not beyond a long 40 day round. If I have not reached goal or I am not happy with the results, I will take a short break (less than 2 weeks) and go for another short round with a proper P3 and P4 to stabilise. We'll see...
My colleague who did this before me had a bit more than me to lose, and she reached her goal in one long round. She is maintaining nicely. I think it differs from person to person, YMMV....
