HCG Alternative Plans week of 1/10/11

Hi and WELCOME to everyone!

This is a thread to discuss those of us using HCG and following our own paths, doing our own experiments, or following the original Simeons Protocol as written.

We wanted a place to talk about what we are doing no matter what it is... anyone and everyone is welcome to join in the discussion or just read and maybe take some ideas away..

Instead of posting all the links to past threads, I will post our original link, then last 2 weeks links. The last link will have all the links to our weeks so far, since we have so many threads it is getting quite long!

Original Thread:
HCG - Non Simeon's Protocol

Morning all!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend! I took the day off from exercising and indulged in a few things and didn't lose anything, but I also didn't gain! That works for me. I am back in the saddle today and ready to get back to losing. I lost 5.5lbs the first 2 weeks and that is also having TOM for 1 week. I think that is pretty good and if I can lose another 5.5lbs in the next 2 weeks, I think 11lbs in a month is pretty good. I also went to bed at 9:30 and got plenty of sleep. Feeling good this morning. We are supposed to get snow and ice today/tomorrow, so everyone is panicking.

Can't wait to here how everyone is doing! Have a GREAT Monday!

Carina I don't do much for my arms...I just started some butterfly presses lately (in our garage) and I 'practice' hanging from a bar, but nothing regularly. I definitely don't have muscle memory, I'm always that girl in the gym that's weaker than other girls her size. But I try! I do think insulin resistance and carbs used to play into my 'weaker' results, and now that I do all my work at home I don't really have a measure stick. I just know picking up 60 pound daughter is harder now than 60 pounds ago...seems like it should be the reverse (not that I pick her up often as I want a good back!) Nevertheless, my arms look great. Having them not covered in a thick layer of fat does wonders all on its own.

I'm back up to 149.4 - Tuesday's starting weight for the round. Combination of my Atkins weekend and TOM starting yesterday. Trying not to do my head in! I'm so tired of TOM - I deserve a break! Maybe I should try that new birth control if menopause doesn't come early!

Good morning and happy new week!!

Stacey-that's wonderful losses!! Great way to keep it in perspective!! KUTGW!!

Tempted-that's great!! I'd be thrilled and even w. a weekend off you're doing so well!! WTG!!

Deb-good to see you! Thanks for starting a new thread .

I am back to VLC today. Packed my lunch and all ready to go. Got to work and realized my drops are at home . Oh well, I dosed last night and will be home at 3:30 and will start dosing then. I guess it's not ideal but I'll still stick to the plan and hope the scale starts moving down for me this week!

I'm up 7lbs from LDW, but I am hoping this break reset my body and it will allow me to lose again. Sigh. I feel like it's been forever since I lost weight!! I'd be happy to be back to LDW by the end of the week at this point. We'll see. I'm trying to be patient and listen to my body. I don't really trust my body though . I think it liked weighing 250+lbs! Looking forward to a good week!

Day #16 Low Calorie Diet w hHCG

Hello everyone, I am still in this thing. TOM is slowly leaving and even though I got down to 229 lbs I am up to 230.2 lbs so that is so far a 9.8 lb loss the past 2 weeks. It is now LCD day # 16 and I plan on staying on hHCG for awhile so I hope I can gain some ground the next few weeks before TOM arrives again.

BTW - I am watching lots of new HCG Vlog's on Youtube.com for motivation, it really helps.

Hang in there everyone, and happy releasing!

Why a red nose, from the hHCG spray?

checking in for today

Good morning ladies

OK so it's been a week and it's officially 8.0 pounds. I don't remember if I've ever lost 8 pounds in a week. So--that's all good.

Didn't gain or lose today and hoping that it doesn't signal the dreaded slow week two--but whatever it means--I'm in it to win it!

Here we go.

Hey girls...

Congrats to everyone on your overall losses!

Paula - insulin resistance = that's a really big clue! Thanks! I wonder if it's true that the alternate day dieting really does heal insulin resistance. What do you think? I bet your arms really do look great. Regarding strengthening your arms, probably if you added a set or two of lady pushups a few times a week, it would take care of any weakening you're experiencing.

I was talking about my ripped up old shaper garment yesterday - I got a hand me down pair of Old Navy jeans, yesterday, they're nice and dark and slim, they're size 8 - and they fit so nicely there's very little muffin top - no shaper needed!! Guys, I'm so psyched, I haven't had a pair of jeans fit so nicely and look so good in quite a while!

But - at the same time - I found a big sale online where it's buy 2 clearance undergarments and get one free and I saw three neat shapers there, I think I may get some in my new size, because shaping can be good even as we're slimming down, right? lol.

Arg, I had an encounter with a male chauvinist yesterday and I was so bothered that later on I unconsciously dived into the chocolate, granola bars and popcorn! Lots of calories, but on top of my low day, it still came in at 1500 or below, so that was ok. Today will be a low day and I decided to alternate day diet for a while. I can wrap my head around something day by day, but have a problem with something like a solid 3 week plan of action.

Still, I don't want to be bowled over by emotional eating - I hear chocolate has the same kind of effects as valium... of course, sugar and carbs in general promote seratonin. Well I started studying acupressure and reflexology, so I will be learning to get those endorphin and neurotransmitter effects without turning to food.

I found that a hemp/almond milk/berry protein smoothie for breakfast was also a great way to balance my blood sugar and start the day, so I'll probably get a late breakfast of that today, skip lunch, and have ahi tuna and cabbage for dinner. And find some good pressure points too!

Oh, I started taking my Chinese Beauty tea - which helps to get the fat out of the system - I had talked about that before, it has a bit of gluten in it. I bought some gluten and casein digestive enzymes, so it's all good now to take the tea, I have a supply for 2 or 3 weeks, and will be using it... really want to see some powerful changes by month's end.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies! Happy Monday to all. So I had a terrible time with cravings and hunger this weekend so I indulged with LC eating Friday-Sunday. Result, up 2.2 lbs today. HOWEVER...I'm not discouraged because I think my hunger/cravings have finally kicked the bucket! Feel good and remotivated/energized today. Additionally, while I gained a bit, I feel I have lost inches. I have not measured but my pants are baggy. So thats a good sign! Ready to be more strict this week and stick to protocal more closely. Just needed to get rid of those naughty cravings!

Week 1 Results:
D1: -5.4
D2: -1.8
D3: -1.0
D4: -2.0
D5: -.2
D6: 0
D7: +2.2
Net for Week1: -8.2 Still not bad given the gain today. Onward and upward for W2!

Hey phxheel - I often find that indulging those cravings does make them go away for a while Perhaps it's a leptin response that reduces the hunger and not just psychological.

heehee girls - I consulted ebay for my shaper decision and ended up with a pretty good brand for only $7 lol! And I was just browsing around and I saw this brand called ShaToBu calorie burner shaper developed with resistance bands - like all that new toning gear that's come out? Totally wild. But too expensive for me Just thought I'd mention it. I think Julie was asking about reshaping with compression garments, and this kind of thing seems like a different, perhaps better version of that

I don't think I've ever lost 8 lbs in a week. That is awesome!!

Holding steady for a bit allows your body to catch up. It is all good.

Nothing better than finding a pair of jeans that fit "just right"

I see those infomercials on the shapers and think "cool" but every time I've ever tried any on I just feel squeezed and claustrophobic. Even Spanx I can only handle for an evening on occasion.

Losing inches is also important. I have had people swear that I have lost additional weight and I assure them that the scale reads the same as it did weeks ago. I think it is the "shifting" that results in lost inches even when the scale is steady.

Good luck on kicking those cravings!! You can do it!

I had a "standard low carb" weekend and actually ate salad last night w/ blue cheese dressing and a steak. Thought I'd see a little bump up but the scale was kind -- 147.4.

So in a week I took off 4 lbs of the holiday gain without the HCG, doing mostly ultra low carb/controlled cals. Only .4 left to get me back within my window. I then plan to do P3 and P4 and then when things have been steady for some time, I'll decide if I want to do another round and shoot for the 138-140 range.

It's definitely a race against the clock sometimes. And ending your round and trying to stabilize at the wrong time of the month is just miserable.

I'll have to try those lady pushups. Last time I did I was just too fat to do it, but maybe I could now.

I think alternate day dieting or IF is great ideas. I'm a bit too wimpy to do that, but I do basically eat in a six hour window on my low calorie days. If you find any accupressure tricks, be sure to let us know! Maybe there's one to beat cravings or speed the metabolism.

That sounds fairly similar to my up weights from lowcarb weekends (generally 1-2 pounds or so). They don't make me feel 'fatter', and I'm almost always back into new weights after my first VLCD. Except the time I was out of ketosis, and didn't see fresh weight loss until a Wednesday morning.

Would you tell what brand you ended up with? I am on the lookout for one. Want something to support that lower belly skin of mine.

Happy new week, everyone! After a really tough day yesterday (hungry, freezing, tired) and bumping up the protein (which really helped me feel better) -- I am down 1.6 lbs today! Whoohoo. I actually suspect I haven't been eating enough, as I doubt I reach even 500 cals very often on this plan. I will really try to keep the protein higher from here on in.

Great job everyone! We can do this, even if it is rough at times!

I totally have to look up the magic resistance shaper-- it isn't in the budget at the moment, but I love gadgets

I had a bad weekend too! 3 lbs gained....crap! I told my mom I am dieting all week just so I can indulge a bit on the weekends. This round has been harder for me to say no to the sweets. Here's to a new week!

Well thats good to hear. I knew I was going to cheat, as hungry as I was and with the cravings I was having. So I at least thought it best for me to "indulge" on LC foods. Had a lot of salad, protein, etc. I didn't mind the 2 lbs just to kick the cravings! But yes...looking forward to new territory hopefully after today!

Its been much harder for me this round too! One little trick that has helped me a little to get over the sweet fix so far is to keep natural PB close by. If I get hungry or am having cravings, I grab about 1/2 tsp and work on that for a while. Seems to have helped so far and has not impacted my results. I know its not "protocol" but if it helps me stick to it better I consider it worth it!

First time hGCHer here and was wondering if anyone else is getting colder than they usually are? I am ususally hot with my much insulation and even though it is cold here in MI I am usually telling hubby that I am "hot" and I usually turn down our thermostat. I read today that some people may experience this in P2, so anyone out there having the same experience? I just didn't want to be alone in this:blush:

I am cold on my hands and feet and this is really quite unusal for me.

Has been a TOTALLY common occurence for me too! I'm also usually warm and even though its not cold here in AZ I'm acting like its 20 below outside! Yes...totally normal for me. I'm sure others will agree as well. It does go away once you get out of P2...just grab a sweater and some wool socks to get through!

I know its not "protocol" but if it helps me stick to it better I consider it worth it!
That's why I like my protein shakes, they usually take any sugar cravings away. I just chose to be stupid this weekend. :P wine will do that....

Apparently being cold during p2 is really common... I run cold, anyhow, and it is very cold weather for California right now, so I can't really attribute anything to the protocol... but yesterday I was brutally, painfully cold! (now, for a reality check, it was 30 degrees last night, and we don't have heat in our place.. so it really *was* cold)

In any case, I guess it is common, so we just bundle up and tough it out.

It is cold here but my hands are cold and toes too as if I have been outside. The temp. in the house is fine and everyone else is fine but even I feel my nose is cold. Like I said, this is highly unusal for me. I grabbed some warm slippers for my feet and now I feel toasty warm. I was kind of worried wondering about this.

Good to know about the cold thing. I have been extra cold lately and it is really cold here for NC, but I am insanely cold. I usually am colder than everyone else though. I get made fun of a lot!

Well, I had to go back to the dr today for another UTI. Test came back neg, but my dr is treating me for one anyway since I have all the symptoms of a UTI. I feel like crap again. It really stinks! I am going to dose through it and just keep my liquids in me until I feel better. I just want to sleep, but being a mom won't allow that. Okay, whining is all over now!

Looks like everyone is having pretty good losses so far. For those who gained, you'll lose it quickly. Just keep at it!

I get cold too.

Down 12.2! I'm entering uncharted ground. Finally below LDW from round 1. So excited!

I REALLY REALLY want to try one of those taco bell beef crunch burritos things I keep seeing on TV. Looks sooooo good! Agghhh!

I hate to pour salt in your wound here...but I had one before I embarked upon R2...oh my gosh! I think its the best thing I've ever had at Taco Bell! Of course I'm a TB fan so others may disagree. But lets not focus on that. Lets focus on you entering NEW TERRITORY! Crunch burrito is for wimps!
