Heck I have a family of 6 and for the entire time I was on any P2 I had to feed them. My teenager son eats anything and everything. In the summer he was constantly in search of food. Then my youngest grazes all day too. I am constantly around food. And not just low carb choices because my family is not low carb. I am surrounded by a lot of not so healthy food. I even had to endure going out to eat with them. Torture--yes, but not an excuse to eat off plan. I brought my food with me and ate along with them. Yes, the smell of Chick Fil A was heaven, but not enough to tempt me. I wanted the scale to reward me in the morning, not me dreading it. Just my opinion and I am glad to see someone else agrees with me ![]()

Even in the 70s when my grandmother raised turkeys here in Texsas...there was only one time of year to slaughter (sorry don't know a good word for that!). I know Jennie-O was founded in '49, but I don't think turkey products were a popular food item until low fat came into fashion. |

really? I would have thought that game birds (including turkey, and others) were pretty common most places and times. But then I am a midwestern girl. LOL
does Italy practice Thanksgiving or do you mean like Christmas? I always thought that thier traditional holiday feasts were different from our traditional turkey and trimmings. eggs and most fruits and veggies most certainly were available. Last edited by CurveControl; 01-07-2011 at 08:38 AM.. |

They are a game bird but domestically raised. I think the slaughter time was almost entirely driven by Thanksgiving/Xmas, with the price too low for breeders to sell at other times. Not sure though, and she's not around to ask! She was a really driven woman...ran a florist shop also and traveled the world on floral conventions. Worked 60 hour weeks even in her 60s.

Paula I mean in Italy in the 60s. They don't have the same holiday traditions as we do, so turkey really was just another meat to them, year round. Like pork, beef, duck etc....

The only thing i'm really interested in tweaking is how often you can start the rounds. I'd like to get more into going back to P2 from P3 but will work that out when I get to that part. |

I'm not sure what my doc would think of this either... she's pretty progressive, but I really don't know. Let us know what you decide, Stevie.

I have told my Dh and my co-workers. My co-workers were supportive but laughed when they saw how little I was eating. Now that I have lost 18 lbs in 2 weeks a couple of them are getting interested in maybe starting Hcg too.
I also told my Mom and she thinks I am going to starve my body and have a heartattack or some such non-sense I told her I read about it and researched it before I started it and Im feeling great. |
