Way too much time on my hands!

Okay I had to look this one up. It's complicated, but the short answer is "yes"
We can have chicory. We can have "green salad". Chicory includes radicchio, puntarelle, and Belgian endive (chicon). Belgian endive is the one that is pale yellowish green in a tight longish head. It's shaped like bok choy but it's much paler and smaller. So those are okay because they are chicory. Now, on to escarole and frisee. Frisee is sometimes called chicory in the US, but it is actually another family (var crispum, and escarole is var latifolia). BUT, these things might logically be included in "green salad". A generic calorie count for "endive, 100 grams" says it is 17 calories for an hcg-sized serving.

Emel, you ROCK!Yes, it's the Belgian endive and the scoops idea is brilliant! I was actually chopping it up and using it as a stirfry veggie with shrimp, with a little Braggs, a little chicken broth, a little thickener, and a little Stevia. And hot sauce of course! It's like sweet and spicy shrimp...yum. |

Nope save for P4. They are not on the list of approved protocol foods. I would not even eat them in P3 as they are made of starch. P4 is best !! |

Can I say that I am in LOVE with grapefruit? I don't think I have had a grapefruit in years and I remember them being VERY tart and hard to eat. Maybe they've grown them to be easier to peel and sweeter but in any case YUM!
B - Green tea L - Spinach salad with ground beef, 1/2 grapefruit D - Shrimp and asparagus, apple |
