Michlady, we're like twins LOL!

I started with 2+pounds above LIW and then loaded 9 pounds, and I'm on VLCD#4 and down in 3 days 9.6 of that - I have 1.4 to be exactly where I ended LIW and then into Virgin territory ---

oh, except for this is R4 for me, I started waaaay above where you did!

I'm down 2.2 today from yesterday.

Sheesh they are 80$ more expensive than Netrition... I think it's worth attempting the shipping for that kind of difference in price. If it gets held up at the border I assume you get your money back (hopefully!), though probably minus shipping?

Though that intermountain thing is even cheaper. I wonder if it's a case of you get what you pay for... need to do more research!

Yavonae are the drops I use, and they are great! I want to try the pellets as well, and will order those (and some more drops) as soon as the budget allows. I want to have them on hand in case I do a longer round, or decide to do a round 2.

Hmmm, I'm just so torn, I wonder how much is me just wanting something that promises fast results, when I know I can lose weight on Atkins even if it's only 4-5 pounds a month.

I read sites about the HCG diet and it makes sense, but to read those few sites that seem remotely honest I have to wade through a LOT of affiliate internet marketing and that makes me wary. I know how internet marketing is! And I also get scared when different sites all have the same text, the same spelling mistakes, and list things like keywords instead of actual content.

I'm curious as to how you guys came about wanting to try this... because I find affiliates out there saying "I lost 40 pounds on homeopathic HCG", and then I find other sites saying that all homeopathic HCG is a scam and is just a placebo effect, because HCG can only be provided via injection and is no good taken sublingually. Complete with convincing links from the 2 US producers of HCG that themselves say that it can only be taken via injection. And then I found a wholesale HCG site that sells you the stuff for cheap so that you can make your own marketing pages and sell it at top dollar to those desperate to lose weight... no wonder the affiliate sites are the only ones that come up when you search on google, they're all out there to try to make it rich.

Still, I have heard a lot of genuine testimonials to it's efficacy, it just makes me feel dirty to have to wade through all the crap to try to get to the bottom of it... it's not like it's inexpensive.

So it isn't a problem if we switch brands? Probably not but just checking.

Don't know if you have a Costco membership, but I recently started buying their apples - the Honey Crisp are out of this world!!!!

Homemade chicken stock:

I like to take the remains of a roasted chicken (bones, skin, etc.) and put it in a pot with water, celery, carrots, onion, salt & pepper and some bay leaves. Bring to a boil and then simmer. Once the stock is done (1-2 hours) I refrigerate. All of the fat comes to the top and I can easily skim it off.

I'm trying miracle noodles for the first time on P2 today. I hope I don't regret it but the chili soup I made with them is really yummy.

I have tried both the Fusion and the Intermountain drops I have lost at the same rate on both, the intermountain are cheaper.

If your product gets stopped at the border they will contact Netrition and Netrition will contact you to see if you want them sent back to Netrition minus the shipping you paid and also they charge you the shipping back from customs so you do get some money back.

Yes they are out of this world very crisp and juicy with lots of flavor but they didn't have any last week when I went

Hazel -- I know what you mean about the marketing... skip all that, and read the threads on here if you want real testimonials. Also, google the Yavonae drops and read the auction site testimonials -- those were what sold me on the program. I rely on that kind of feedback, rather than feedback from sites trying to sell me something specific.

Bottom line, this works. I doubt it is the placebo effect.. science tells us that placebos generally give about a 15% positive in any given study. The results from this FAR surpass that.

10th Day no dizziness - Yaah

Hi

The weirdest thing. I've been getting really bad dizzies with this protocol. But yesterday - 10th day of VLCD - nada, zip no dizziness and felt great all day. Today it's the same.

Has anyone else found they started to feel much better after about 10 days?

Also reading the thread above - re whether the diet really works - if it helps - I decided to do an experiment(because I'd read that it was possibly just a placebo effect), prior to starting my HCG where I ate the same diet but slightly larger helpings - lasted about 3 weeks lost 6 pound's but felt terrible - like I'd been run over by a truck and had spent a month partying.

So - on the HCG - this is my 11th day with the homeopathic drops I've lost 9.3 pounds, I'm not overly hungry and by yesterday I was actually feeling really great.

Also really glad I found this forum, it's great reading everyones progress and is really encouraging.

VLCD 1 - 157.8
VLCD 11 - 148.5

Tori.

Yeah, it's not a placebo effect. Just because you eat a 500 cal diet doesn't mean you'll lose like this, as quickly. You have to burn over 3000 calories to lose one pound, and people are losing over a pound in one day. That's just not possible without the hcg or hhcg, I think. If you normally eat 2000 cal in a day, then drop to 500 cal, you might lose a pound in two days, but the body also shifts into survival mode and it's not the same weight loss.

I'm still thinking about starting another round sooner than planned. I have to find out about a weekend conference over Super Bowl weekend before I make a decision. If we don't have the conference, then I start next week. I've been in P3 for 4 weeks.

Morning all! You have been a busy bunch!

Well, my first day of hhcg VLC went ok, I had more mental hunger than physical. Got to find myself something to occupy me in the evening that does not involve cooking, LOL!

Was thinking of obsessively sorting out my bookcases (1 have four, ceiling to floor, all full!) and organising my books in some way...

For the rest, it's raining here, finally thawing so the foot and a half of snow that has been lingering here will melt! A good thing, it was becoming a bit of a nuisance. Also, I am freezing cold, so a little rise in temperature will also be welcome!
I had to put an extra duvet on my bed last night, because I was so cold, LOL!

My menu today:

B/L: chicken breast and tomatoes, a cracker (similar to grissini) and an apple
D: lean roast beef, cucumber, a bit of mustard, a cracker and half a grapefruit

Have a good day everyone!

VLC1: 171

Mimosa -- hurray for obsessive organization. We have a ton of books, too, and are always searching for a good system to keep them easy to find.

Staying busy really helps, if the hunger is "head hunger" instead of real, physical hunger.

Cyniminbear -- Everything you said is 100 percent right on!

Ugh, if that's the case, I can't wait til day 10!!

Actually I am doing well. Down another 1.6 this morning. Have been dealing with a migraine the last day and a half thanks to the impending arrival of TOM. I am surprised my losses haven't slowed down just yet, especially around this time of month, but I think it is thanks to all the water I have been drinking!

I started right as TOM decided to appear, and I have lost throughout the whole thing. Isn't that amazing?

Great work bflogirl! I get TOM migraines too... I hate them. Good job keepin' on going!

I am still (obviously) having some insomnia... that is okay by me, as I don't have to work right now (on winter break from graduate school). Hoping to see 117 point something when I wake up, though.

Mini...yesterday my TOM appeared and it was VLCD 4 for me. I stepped on the scales this morning not expecting anything but had a .6 lb loss. I'll take it! This is R2 for me...if I remember correctly, I wasn't so lucky in R1. I need to go back and take a look at weighins to see.

I've decided to stop weighing daily. I know Dr S says we should, but I'd rather see bigger numbers every few days than the little drops daily. I'm thinking every 4 days or so

BFlogurl ~ You may be experiencing detox. I started vlcd on Sunday and had terrible detox headaches on Monday and Tuesday. The ache seemed to be around my eye sockets Feeling much better today though - hopefully the detox is over. Also, are you taking your supplements? I take potassium (4-6 tablets/day), multi-vitamin, and biotin. Sometimes I take a B-12 too. The potassium is very important for me because I get foggy brained/tired and I get foot/leg cramps. HTH and good luck.

Disney Princess, I decided the same thing today. For right now I need to follow the protocol exactly. I trust the protocol. If I stick to the rules, I will lose the weight. My losses are slow also. I find myself getting discouraged with the number at times. I will stick to this and weight maybe every three days. I want to lose ten more pounds.

As for my beloved Honey Crisp apples, they will be out of season soon So far Walmart is the cheapest that I find. Clearly not a cheap apple at 2.29 a pound. Most places they are 2.99 a pound I don't have a costco card. Oh well!! I allow myself to splurge on these as a reward for not cheating and losing weight.

Everyone stay strong,
Makeup

Up a pound today, not sure why but I'm not going to stress it. I did feel super bloated yesterday, feeling better today. Just sticking to protocol and letting it do it's work.

Going to check out the Yavoean drops! I used spray my first round and was very hungry at times, for this round I'm using the Intermountain drops and so far, so good. In fact yesterday I had to remind myself to eat - so unusual for me!

Stevie Renee - How many rounds has it taken you to get to your current weight??
