Oh, well then. I clearly haven't read the new Atkins book. I'd better get caught up when I am finished with Taubes.

I'm waiting for my new pellets to arrive, according to my tracking number they are in Canadian customs. I hope they get through soon so I can get back to P2 next week.

I've got to go back and read about how everyone is doing!

Awww.good to be home.

VLCD7 down .4 lbs today. Not great but I'll take it because I had a major non scale victory yesterday.

My husband and I decided to take a day trip to the coast to walk the beach and usually this meant stocking up on snacks for the drive and then going out to lunch for chowder and seafood. This time I not only didn't bring any snacks, I also packed my lunch in a small cooler. So while my husband(and the dog) enjoyed their fast food lunch, I ate my chicken and an apple. It's getting easier to not revolve everything we do around food. We also walked on the beach for like 2 hours between rainstorms so I'm hoping the fact that I got so much exercise is why I didn't lose very much today.

I love it! Once you get the experience of eating out or in social situations, it gets so much easier, doable. We are going skiing so I have my little backpack and I will just stash my food in there.

Great nonscale victory for you! But you have been doing well all week so lets not forget that! Whoot!

No loss no gain for me, but that's ok - I had a 2# drop yesterday and weighed very late. I'm making loading food for my daughter who is starting today -- yikes -- smelling the food is fun when you can't eat it LOL.

Catr31, I see you live in Oregon - I do too! I LOVE to drive to the beach, I'm in the Willamette Valley - Salem.

I lost 37 pounds last year (started in March) on HCG during 4 rounds and I have never been so successful in all my life in losing weight. By not following Protocol and being careless, I gained 11 pounds back over the holidays. I am ready to get back on the wagon and lose the rest of my weight this year, because I know it works! For the first time in my life I KNOW I can and will do it!

Looking forward to sharing with everyone.

I am up 1 lbs after two days, including my big night out last night. So today I am just taking it easy, not overdoing anything. I am going to try my best to stay in my window, or at least close to it. I am learning a lot from Taubes on things I should be doing. Atkins never gave amounts of how much cream and cheese to have, but Taubes does. This is not a diet book at all, but in the appendix, he does list some guidelines. And he does say use cream, not half and half. YAY!

Hey you two! I watched one of his vids and looked at his web site reading his blog. I just wanted to say thanks for mentioning him. I may just go out and buy his latest book.

Yay, you're back!

So, about buying that new scale. I did that and my new scale proudly displayed that I weighed 6 lbs more than my old scale. Needless to say I was in short-lived predicament and decided to error on the side of caution, accepting that I was 6 lbs heavier. Just a heads up booty

I'm a powerlifter so I lift heavy weights and still do well

I walked my first 3 rounds, and this round I decided to lift weights 3x week... So far I like doing weights better. Lifting heavy weights burns a surprising amount of calories, but I also find I'm less hungry. If I walked too much I would get really hungry.

Don't worry, I'm prepared for that. I'm not going to take it personally if the new scale hates me at first.

As long as the number starts going down when I am in P2, I'm a-ok.

I'm not too far from you, I live in Lebanon (just east of Albany). Living in the valley is great, just 1 1/2 hours to the beach or 1 1/2 hours to the mountains. I do a lot of hiking and there are tons of trails around.

If you ever want to meet up for an on-protocol lunch, just let me know LOL

I'm a tax person and my busy season is going to be hitting me hard soon, so I'm glad I'm through the detox-feel-like-crap phase now. I probably will be stopping by Feb 8 for my 72 hours and then onto maintenance.

What stage are you at?

Well, I'm up a pound and feel a little bloated today. Since nothing really changed in my menu, I'm going to put this off to water retention and hope it's gone tomorrow.
