Just don't know if I can do it today

LDW was 2 days ago. Today is my last vlcd. I just don't think I can do it today. My DD has the flu - the real flu. She's been so sick and we're waiting on a call from the dr. She's had a relapse and is feeling pretty bad.

I've never cheated on this diet. Not once in 2 rounds. Here I am at my last vlcd and, I just don't have it in me.

Between my two kids, they have collectively been sick for 4 weeks. I'm exhausted, I'm hungry and I'm just feeling done.

Sigh.....just having a pity party......

Can you just increase your lean proteins? Would that help? Sorry your daughter isn't feeling well

Wow- that's admirable. Sorry to hear DD is so sick. I would consider adding some protein as well. That will help give you strength.

You can do it. You really can! You would feel horrible about yourself afterward if you cheated, and a lot of times it makes a person feel so horrible that they just give up altogether. You can do it!

Don't have it in you to do what? You have already done it!!! And done it so well!!! I think I am missing something. You are on your last day. You have done fabulously well on 2 rounds---with no cheats!! That is admirable. I know the pain of watching little ones get sick. My eldest brought home the flu several years ago and it was the worst month of March ever!!! He got everyone sick, all 6 of us!!! Even poor DH who took off to take care of the 5 of us got a touch of it. I would say if you want a little something extra, add in some fat. I don't think it would hurt you too bad. But I do suggest you stay away from any type of starchy/sugary stuff. Gosh, I sure hope you get some relief soon.

Thank you guys for the support.

I don't want sugary or starchy stuff, I just don't feel like weighing, measuring, counting, being hungry etc.... I just don't want to do this last vlcd - I just want to move to P3 so I don't have to think about it anymore. I just want to be done.

Sigh.... now the dr called and they don't want DD to come in. They say the office is so full of sick kids and with her being so sick, they don't want her exposed to anything. They say a relapse with the flu is totally normal and to watch her for labored breathing etc....

Thanks for the support. I'll make it through today. I know I will. I just am not feeling it anymore.

Good. That is great to know. I think by now you know what 100 grams of chicken looks like!!! LOL. Don't worry so much about portions then. Go with your gut--when you get full you stop eating. You have the hang of it now!!

When my DS broke his thumb we had to go to an urgent care because it was, of course after office hours for his orthopedist. The college kid who went in before us had Type B flu--the doc said "well you don't see that every day". I thought to myself "what have I just done and exposed us to?" It gnawed at me for days afterward. I hate going into doctor's offices now. I hope she gets over it sooner rather than later.

Hang in there! No real advice as you've gotten some good advice already. Saying some prayers for your DD and for you!

Thank you guys. Sorry for the pity party. Just had a few moments of feeling overwhelmed

DD has been asleep for a couple hours which is the best thing for her. Her fever is steady so, that's good.

I'm hanging in there. Had an egg for breakfast. A very small bit of super lean beef for lunch, an apple and some cucumbers. I can make it through. Probably not totally on protocol today but, pretty close. Thanks again!

No need to apologize for the pity party! I was feeling that way myself tonight when I had to go the grocery store. I was so mad that I was on this st00pid P2 and couldn't have any goodies at work, any samples at the store -- and I was hungry! I got through it, but reading your post helped me. So never apologize for sharing, that's what we're all here for.

You done good!

I hope your DD is feeling better today and that you can get some much needed rest. Make sure you eat enough so you don't get worn down.

Chouter, I go back and forth on the "I am so glad I am doing this now because I HAVE to control what goes in my mouth" and then "Gosh darn it why do I have to be on a diet while everyone else isn't?" Those days usually alter when I have good/bad scale days!!! And I so agree, never apologize for sharing what we all go through. I used to think this was so easy--eat protocol food and lose weight, but this time of year there are so many temptations and the further along I get into it the harder it is to resist! Kudos to you that are doing it!!!

You guys are so sweet. Thank you!

She's so much better today. She took a 3 hour nap yesterday and woke up drenched in sweat. Her fever finally broke. She went to bed three hours later and slept until 10:00 this morning. She woke up like a new kid. Her color is so much better, she as an appetite and she has energy! Finally it looks like she's on the mend.

I appreciate the thoughts and prayers so much!

I ended up doing ok. I didn't want to think about food so, I just made a small pot of P2 chili and ate on that all day. I'm sure I was way over my protein but, I'm ok with that. I ate only protocol foods so, no real damage done.

Of course, I woke up at 5am and could not go back to sleep because all I could think about was how good that first cup of P3 coffee with cream was going to taste

So, I made it through with your support. Many thanks!!!
