I just wanted to add that I don't know alot about the Medi Weight Loss Plan.. what is in the shots you are given? I personally think HHCG would work with any plan out there, but I am NO EXPERT!...
Hopefully someone who has done it, will jump in with some information. WELCOME ![]() richmanlopez Last edited by Deb294evr; 12-20-2010 at 03:24 AM.. |

Richman I don't know much about that program, but have always heard good things about the Medi program. Lots of $$$ though!
My weight is the same as Friday. Gotta love post TOM weights! And I did enjoy my weekend. Hope everyone is doing well. I have 3 vlcd's this week, then will transition to my standard P3/Atkins maintenance until Jan 4th when the kids go back to school. I hope to get a couple more pounds off and be more solidly in the 140s before Christmas. |

I also want to say YEAH to everyone who is following their plans and in losing mode right now.. this is a TOUGH TIME!!!.. so I applaud you!!!!
![]() ![]() I am gearing up for one week from today, to get myself going again. I have thankfully not gone over my 200 threshold, but I am WAYYYYYYYYYYY too close for comfort!!!.. Saturday I weighed in at 198.6 so I have to be very careful with my cycling this week. I plan to enjoy myself, but only one day at a time. The day following, I will cut back like I have been. This has been my KEY to maintaining during this time... I honestly am looking forward to losing again! So HERE IS TO A GREAT WEEK!!!! ![]() ![]() |

Good morning everyone!
I had a wonderful weekend of holiday events, birthdays and cookie baking. While my weight is not up, it hasn't gone down either . This is a short work week, I'm going to hang in there and stick to my plan as best as possible and drink water, water, water! It really makes a difference for me on the scale.I saw a few people out last PM that hadn't seen me in a couple of months and they complimented me, telling me I had really slimmed down. Those comments are always bittersweet ![]() Hang in there Deb, that 200lb mark can be quite the psychological demon/motivator!!! It's what made me start Hhcg in the first place, I was getting way too close for comfort. My plan for this week is to be 165 by Christmas, that's only 2.2 lbs, I can do it! ![]() Have a great day! I'm popping in to say that I'm still here .I know I haven't checked in since Thanksgiving but I'm still hanging on....barely.Life has a way of getting crazy and out of control without warning, but even with all the stress I've continued to lose a little and not gain.I don't know how that happened but I'll take it!
I kept on taking the drops but was not really following any plan, not overeating, eating whatever I wanted. But what was strange was I would have for example burger w/fries and could only eat half or eat it all and be so full by the next meal that I wouldn't have anything.I had to help make some fudges and candy and while I did taste them and they were wonderful I could only have a few small pieces and knew that if I had anymore I'd make myself sick.I am a stress eater, food has always been my comforter in bad times and helped distract me for the moment. I have taken care of a DD adult who is medically fragile for almost 20 yrs(she is like a daughter to me)and she last week had to have surgery,so I spent the last week in the hospital with her.I have her home now and so far everything is stable and life is slowly getting back to normal. I've lost 20.5 lbs since Nov 10th and I don't think that's too bad considering everything.I'm glad to see everyone is still here too and doing great. ![]() Barb

checking in-did some lowcarb baking with almond flour, stevia-I did notice that I just wasn't that interested in eating much of it. Different.

I've got some low carb baking planned too with almond flour - the usual almond bread, I'll use xylitol and coconut for cookies and muffins. I also ordered 4 lbs almost of almond flour and a couple of pounds of hemp protein powder, for more low carb, high protein baking to help me stay on my diet. So I'm all stocked up, and just getting my headset ready for a perfect 3 week round of dieting.
I decided on an old 'Rotation Diet' plan combined with carb and calorie cycling. It's actually really neat and will probably fit perfectly with the low-cal hcg diet. It's one week of low cal dieting: 3-600 cal days followed by 4-900 cal days. Then, a week of 1200 calories - this would be the week I'd really go all out with my carb and calorie cycling plan, I'd have a H-M-L-H-M-L-H calorie cycle, with several days of low carb in there, and a couple of days of high carb. But make the average calories overall work out still to 1200/day. The third week is a repeat of the first week, then it's essential to take at least a week break for maintenance before doing it again. I've learned a lot studying the alternate day dieting plans, and the carb cycling plans, and am comfortable now with making up my own plan to include the carb-cycling aspect, so I'm kind of excited to see how this pans out. With the original Rotation Diet that I described, which was done out of a clinic for thousands of patients, the average loss was 2/3 lbs per day - of course, that's without the hcg, and without the cycling in the second week. Last time I attempted the Rotation Diet I had no way of sticking to the extremely low calorie first week, but now with the hcg, I think it might be a great way to do a 3 week round for quick weight loss. Wouldn't it be great to lose 15 lbs in 3 weeks - I'd be in the 130s, my goal range! So I'm psyched to do it and no worries around Christmas meals either, they should be easy to fit in to a rotation. Nitenurse and Barbara I think it's neat you both noticed less appetite - that's great to hear. I still have a tendency to reach for the gf sweets around the house when stressed, but overall have had a reduction in appetite that I hope continues and develops more. Dessa- sorry I asked the other day about your weigh-in, right after you had posted about it - somehow I'd missed that. Blame mercury?

So The Rotation Diet is by Martin Katahn, 1986, it's probably out of print, but it's a great resource, if you can find it. It talks a lot about how they measured the patients' metabolic rates and they didn't decrease as compared to the usual 'starvation diet', and actually increased. It also made maintenance very easy, which indicates they had reset their set points, same as on the hcg diet, and all the usual bloodtests improved greatly.
As far as the foods they used, it's generally a low-fat diet but that's a child of its time, so I'm freely addding 1-2 tbsp of oil to each day, as usual - 1T maximum on 600 calorie days, and the rest as needed. If I have a higher calorie meat, it just goes straight into the calorie budget, but I'll just exceed the daily recommended calories by the healthy 1-2 tbsp of coconut oil, ghee, hemp oil, or occasional sesame or olive oils. Anyone want to try this plan with me - starting today? |

They're usually about 150 healthy low-carb calories a slice. And for me it makes a huge difference to eat a piece of almond bread, vs. starchy gluten free bread. I can't eat more of the almond bread, once slice is very rich and hits the spot - and doesn't activate my cravings and appetite!! As long as I've got my mind set not to grab any of my daughter's gf yummy leftover eats, like her fake cheese, gf grilled cheese sandwiches or rice tortillas, and her gf cookies, I have a better chance of staying 'perfect' on my diet for 3 weeks. It's hard having those temptations always around - another big one is yummy flavored kettle popcorn. Getting off this stuff is about mindset and habit - it took a month of getting off wheat before I stopped cheating and made it a natural lifestyle, so looks like I've got a few more weeks yet to reset my appetite and eating habits. Looking forward to it. I know it's going to be quiet around here over the holidays, but I'll be around and checking during my next 3 weeks, for the support, even just posting daily helps. I'm trying a few recipes soon from a low-carb baked goods cookbook while I'll reference more of later
It's the Low Carb Baking and Desert Cookbook by Ursula Solom - there are a few soy-free and gluten free low-carb treats to try in there. Many of course use a lot of gluten and soy. I also am getting the Elana's Pantry cookbook for using almond flour soon. Deb - thanks for your comments, that's neat you have heard of the Rotation Diet and will see if it might be something you're interested in. Definitely looks to be a good reference. |

Good Afternoon, Everyone!
Wow, I haven't been able to get on here in a few days and WOW, so much to catch up on! Seems like most everyone is doing well on their plan, but, me?? I was doing great until last night when I not only fell off the wagon, but it ran over me and then did a u-turn and got me again!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, it was a misstep in this journey and instead of throwing in the towel, as I have been known to do in the past, I am back on track and doing some serious damage control. i didn't get on the scale this morning as I dont want to get in the mental mode of "oh well, might as well eat more" I feel pretty good today and trying to drink LOTS of water and eat clean. I won't make my goal of 175 by Christmas, but I am still keeping my goal of 165 by mid Feb. This is a journey and I will modify goals and behavior as life happens. Let's keep our long term goals in mind and Happy releasing everyone... ![]() I hope to check in more because it keeps me accountable.

Down 14 to 231. I was hoping for 20 so I'm not jumping up and down since I'm still a good 15 from my lowest hcg weight. It's decent so I'll take it for now. Halfway there so I'm expecting a lot better from here on out!!

Hi all!
I have been really blechy sick for a couple of days. I did not manage to outrun what my daughter had last week. I am feeling a lot better today and just happy to be done with THAT!! My weight remained the same, so I am not complaining about that. I am happy I did not gain from a lack of proper hydration and any loss would not be a real loss anyway, so it's all good! One bad thing is that I have missed about half of my HCG doses but I think I have had enough to keep it in my system. I wish I would have been well enough to have them all though! Well, I wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. I am guessing I have a bit of catching up to do from the weekend. Keep rockin' it everyone!

I would rather have 6 months worth of colds than 1 flu.Exciting weigh in today...147.8 a drop of 1.6. You just have to love weighins after TOM has left the house! I just have vlcd today and tomorrow. I will count tomorrow as my LDW weight...it's my 18th vlcd. Whatever I drop the next day I'll simply use to keep me stabilized.Everyone check in thru the holidays...it definitely keeps me more aware of my weights and any adjustments I need to do to maintain. ![]()

Ok so yesterday I decided that I was too darn close to 200 to be comfy... so I watched what I ate all day... Not so much trying to keep it low cal, as to just be AWARE of when I was eating...
I basically checked my hunger and ate accordingly... today down 1.8 pounds and soooo happy about that!... It is nice to know that if I do gain, I can still lose.... Silly huh? I just want to make sure my metabolism has truly changed and I believe it has been reset. Now I am also taking my drops/pellets 3 times a day this week, and I also believe that helps... soooo, now I know I can survive Christmas and be ready to roll on down the scale next Monday!... Everyone have a great day and holiday this week, I will be in and out, working alot today, and running around the rest of the week... stay TRUE TO YOU!!!..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey all!
I am going to join you all if you don't mind. I got my drops yesterday and am going to load today and tomorrow. I am not going to be doing protocol b/c I am too many dietary retrictions, so I am going to do what works for me. And it looks like you all are having great success doing your own thang! I am going to be sticking with a low carb plan with some low cal days mixed it. I think it will work. I love reading all your posts. You are a great group and you all inspire me. ![]() |
