hcg and avoiding the carbs

I am on loading day 2 and wondered is it ok to avoid the melba/grissin on the program. Slightest carbs like that send me into binge and craving mentality.

Totally fine to avoid them. I ate them for the first week, then ignored them for the next 33 days.

I rarely eat them. I did use it as a breading for some cod however. Skip it if you want, even the fruit. But don't skip the protein

I'd say try to eat them as part of the plan initially and see how you react to them, ditch them if necessary. People find they respond to things differently on protocol than normally.

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
I had trouble with it. I did a clean Simeon's protocol for 3 weeks, and had to drop the melba/grissini after the first week. I kept the fruit the rest of that round, and really struggled with hunger. This round I'm doing more fat (cream in my coffee, whole eggs, butter occasionally to cook w/) and no fruit and limited veggies. I'm keeping the calories low, and focused on protein.

You can do it!!

Its definitely a YMMV situation. I ate my grissini every day. Who knew a crunchy breadstick the size of a pencil would make my day?!?!

Excellent advice as always!! I advocate eating everything on protocol. It is what works best. Then if you find you are stalling or having the munchies then you can start tweaking. The food list is already limited....why limit yourself any more??? I also agree with Peggy...I ate my melba/grissini every day and if I skipped if for whatever reason I missed it!!! I heard that by cutting it out you can become carb sensitive when the protocol is finished. I don't know if that is true or not, but I want to be able to incorporate a carb or 2 when all is said and done.

I never ate them but I have issues with wheat.

I love it, but it causes some inflammatory issues (flares rosacia, increades jint pain etc...) so i just try really hard to not eat it except on very rare and very special occasions.

And a very good reason to avoid it. I know that some people do have issues with wheat like gluten intolerance or celiac. For those they certainly should cut it out. But to say "I won't have it because I see no point" is not good. Dr S included it for some reason therefore I see it as a good thing. Good thing to know what and when to cut out on this plan. It helps us figure things out for the long run.

This I agree with. I wouldn't cut anything to start. The plan is written as is for a reason. The hcg makes eating this way so much easier too so you might find you can tolerate the toast just fine

I had the breadsticks the first few days, then dropped them. Toward the end, I had a couple to help with the hunger. It really was funny how that little breadstick just 'made' a meal feel complete.
Your body will let you know if it isn't handling them well.

lol, the OP probably read all the diverse answers and ran for the hills!

I didn't get the Melba until I made an order on line because I could not find it anywhere in town!
